/b/ is pretty hated too but it's not the bottom of the barrel because most people there are clearly under aged and will probably grow out of it.
And despite the ridicule /pol/ gets from other boards, I get the feeling that they are generally normal, functioning members of society who just happen to have some controversial views, and decided to amp them up when they have a place to anonymously vent. As much as I hate some of their political and social views, I also envy them.
The fact that some people here even have jobs where they have the opportunity to struggle with small talk impresses the hell out of me. My anxiety has manifested to the point where I can't really physically talk to people anymore. I live in autism housing and get those sweet neetbux (along with 100 dollars a month from my mom), but my existence is pretty miserable. Though clearly this board exaggerates a lot, there really are people like me, too. And people like me are the lowest of the low, 4chan or otherwise. In a primitive era I would have been killed in my infancy so as to not infect the gene pool, and I can't honestly say there isn't wisdom in that.
