There is no cure-all solution or fix. It depends on you and your life history and circumstances. For instance, I was always very awkward but also more articulate than most people. I couldn't interact with strangers one-on-one, but I could give stellar presentations and had no fear of public speaking. Consequently, I was able to develop a good sense of humor to combat my bullies when I was a junior in high school. I didn't get to be funny with girls, but I at least had the groundwork set for being able to tell stories and getting people to laugh.
