When you have clinical depression, everything fucking sucks. Interaction with other people is draining and you don't know what to say because nothing really interests you and you don't give a shit so theres nothing interesting to say.
People pick up on your external ques; never engaging in convo or blurting out sperg shit because you have no idea what else to say, onpy providing answers when being spoken to, never asking questions back, stuff like that. People stop trying or don't even want to if they know you're checked out, then it feels like you're all alone and people are ignoring you for being you, you don't get it.
You feel like shit, sleep all day, eat like shit and then have a constant negative outlook on life. Everything is an uphill climb, chores don't get done, meetings aren't kept, you just want to be left in your bubble to pursue time wasting activities until life expires.
This is all depression. It doesn't get better through sheer will or just "getting out there". Thats how someone who isnt depressed but is feeling down gets over it. You don't just get over depression, its not just psychological. It compounds on itself until you feel like you can't get out of the dark hole you've dug and the way out is either suicide or continuing to dig.
So whats my point? You aren't hopeless, it can be helped. It will require antidepressants. Some of them will work really well and not cause a ton of side effects. You WILL see a difference whwn you are on the right kind. Life becomes interesting again, you will want to socialize, you will have confidence in your abilities and want to pursue new things. Life stops being a rock you have to drag behind you. It changed my life, I was in a hole full of shit for a long time, didn't think anything could help me at all. I got on brintellix and I felt better within days. Not a highon drugs kind of better, but I was actually happy for the first time in 15 years. I wanted to talk
