I've only ever played 2e, and it's simple as hell.
Get yourself 2d10's, roll yourself up your random stats and class, and go nuts.
3e is a bit more ambitious, an attempt to try and uproot the entire game and build something a bit different.
I haven't played it yet, but if you can get past the fact there are cards, and proprietary dice, then apparently it's worth a shot.
I still love 2e though, the splatbooks are fucking incredible at setting the tone... If not the rules. Wizards in WHFRP are best played like Pratchett Wizards.
How do I build a campaign? I want to DM but I don't know where to begin.
Start with the simple overarching scenario you want to run them through. After coming up with that, come up with a simple three-act structure to get them started on the scenario, along the path, and then eventually to the climax.

So I made a larp version on the Force hatchet from dragons dogma out of foam and pvc, but i had the idea to make it into the beast cutter from bloodborne, the problem i have is to make it turn into a whip, there has to be a way to make a mechanism in the handle that releases the tighens a rope in the pvc. Any ideas?

Well, there isn't really any limit to how far you can go. Eventually your game will bridge over into LARP, and even then you could do something like Derren Brown Apocalypse, with a multi stage story all set out for you spanning over days or weeks, if you do one of those Lovecraft AR games.
I saw some cork-stoppered potion-looking bottles when I was shopping today. Gave me the idea to represent potions in a fantasy setting physically, fill them with coloured skittle vodka or something. You want to drink a potion IC, you need to down a potion OOC.
More just dumb fun than actually adding to the game - though I pity the alchemist.

So where to start. Setting? Setting.
Welcome to Maxton City, 30 years after the world ended. Maxton was once the home of the Homeguard, the most prestigious group of metahumans on the planet, and certainly the best known. They spent long careers protecting mankind from peril, until at last, they failed.
A madman from beyond the stars came, bearing a world-destroying weapon and a plot to end earth once and for all. The heroes all banded together to try and stop him and destroy the weapon. They failed.
Their efforts only prevented the bomb from doing the planet in entirely, and almost 90% of the world's superheroes died within seconds, being too close to the blast, the only consolation being that it took its creator with it. Most of those still surviving were minor teams or members of major teams left behind to manage the situation on the ground. The villains, granted a world free from the protection of its mightiest heroes. Meanwhile, the shockwaves from the explosive shook earth, and broke open many arcane seals and awoke many ancient evils. The many Kaiju of japan all awoke within a few hours. Dark things from the sea came to the surface. And all of villainy fought for power, easily wiping aside those few heroes left behind.
Except in Maxton. The war didn't last long in Maxton.

Prometheus, a new villain, rose up there. He had a dreadful power, unlike any ever seen on earth. He could grant, manipulate, and remove powers from other metahumans. He defeated the final member of the Homeguard singlehandedly, trapping the speedster Marathon in place with her friction immunity inverted, to the point where every passing breeze risked taking skin with it. She stands, a human statue, in a park to this day. Meanwhile, Prometheus has taken control of Maxton, destroying the old Homeguard headquarters and building a dictatorship run by him. The players are metas, born in the slums, and seeking to find a future in this dark place.

I remember, long ago, a post from /tg/ with President Andrew Jackson and another president (not certain who) statted out as monsters from a classic Monster Manual. Someone then wrote a short page of fiction with (I think) Teddy Roosevelt encountering them somewhere outdoors, or descending into their lair.. Hyenas were involved?

World 63-19 from Horus Rising. Claimed to be Terra (in all fairness, it fit the best description they could be expected to have) and was ruled by a man calling himself the Emperor of Mankind. Loken called him a false Emperor, and Horus teleported into the room and killed the guy. It's all very poetic.

So the Dread Legions of Chaos etc etc all have their home bases hidden deep inside the Eye of Terror. They flit from daemonworld to daemonworld like a bunch of squabbling children, and occasionally get their shit together enough to follow Abaddon on his latest scheme to crush Cadia or whatever.
Why, though?
The Cadian Gate is the only stable route out of the Eye of Terror, sure. But the chaos forces already *live* in the Eye. They can get around in it just fine. Why would they even need the Gate?

Because they want to conquer the material universe. Look, the whole point of Cadia is that the pylons stop daemons and the weird, more corrupted stuff from pouring out.
If Cadia is ever conquered, Chaos wins. That's because all of the physically-impossible stuff that exists in the Warp can emerge at once. All the daemon primarchs, all the daemonships, all the warp horrors. There is literally an infinite amount of them.
Even the more mutated Chaos Space Marines and stranger creatures, who cannot live without Warp exposure, can now join in the fray. It's a massive, massive advantage.

It's clear these cars are clearly remorseless psychopaths, meanwhile the trucks are our only hope against the coming darkness.
The cars are fought by road warrior bikers with harpoon guns and flamethrowers.
So, as I am preparing for my new campaign (Tyranny of the Dragons restatted and a bit changed), I am working on "making chromatics scary". Or better "making Tiamat's arrival scary".
So far I have one thing I like a lot: Draconic disease that causes growth of chromatic scales, changes to the eyes and eventual death tue to acid/molten lava/electric charge... generating in affected person's belly.
PCs will encounter this here and there and ever more frequent as they level up and discover more story.
Now I wonder if I can present chromatics as even more of a threat? I mean, to me chromatic dragons are about as harmful as a vain and tyrannic king. Except that they have bodies ten times the strenght, are thrise as wise and live a millenia.
How can I make the threat of chromatic rise to power even scarier? Should I even go along this path?
