Ho /tg/! I've had a hankering for a while to try and replay some of GW's Lord of the Rings game, with what models I still have, since current GW prices are as ridiculous as always.
Does anyone have scans for the LoTR books that GW put out, like War of the Ring and the 'newer' books?

Awesome! Thanks for the quick response. I'm also curious as I didn't much LoTR aside from the old vanilla game, is War of the Ring a lot better than the plain vanilla LoTR? Worse? Both the same? All I remember from the old game was that it could get really drawn out as combat could take a looong time.

I'm soon DM-ing a campaign for a group of noobs (nice noobs hopefully) in Faerun. They will start in Green Fields and if they feel like it, they can roam wherever they want.
Now I want to present a single artifact/item/story of setting lore each session. I want to make a list of these events.
My questions are:
- how should I do it
- what lore should I include
Obvious way are some interesting ruins. Perhaps bards singing tales? What else?

Because one thing I've always found bad about RPGs, premade adventures and D&D especially is dungeon crawls.
Dungeons Crawls are fucking awful.
Anywway, as to presenting bits of lore:
- Legal dispute: someone the groups is friendly with has some kind of issue that is resolved by various parties trying to bring up history and precedent in their favor. This way, the exposition *it* the goal, so it won't feel forced. Pretty good if you...

- Old Elven oaths or promises could feature heavily. The beauty about vows sworn to bloodlines is that you can reference something from anywhere else and just say those people moved about, or are the heirs to the vow.
- Since you've played a lot, feel free to pepper the local history with tales of previous adventures you've had, or DMed. Maybe the name of a certain CE lolrandumb barbarian is a curse. For that matter, if you've ever TPK and not finished something, referencing that group...

Is there any TTRPG system that uses exclusively percentile rolls, with all the modifier and stats involved being percentages? I know some of the board games we play here on tg use the percentile roll and that's fun, but I mean when you make a strength check, you add your stat-given 85%, take away 30% for difficulty, and roll to make it over 100.
Has this been done? How feasible is it?

What's a good set of rules to play a space/starship RPG in /tg/? Combat would probably be the most important part, maybe even vechiles at that. I've checked Edge of Empire but the dice really just confused me and Stars without Numbers seems far too brutal.

Well I'm guessing you don't actually want to realistically simulate physics, so what parts of space combat DO you want to emphasise?
Diaspora has some cool stuff for information warfare and a nice abstraction for vector movement that doesn't actually involve plotting ships in 3D.In case you do actually want to simulate space accurately there's Vector: Full Thrust or whatever but its a wargame. Add RP on top, I guess?

Maybe run Savage Worlds with the Sci-Fi Companion? Back in the day I played Star Frontiers, which has a really cool setting, but the mechanics are kinda meh, in my opinion. Traveller is pretty much the gold standard of sci-fi, but it never really suited me. Your mileage may vary.

Yeah, I took your advice.
I scrapped the kiki/splinter combo and some other cards that weren't pulling their weight and added frantic search, reset, reiterate, turnabout, lightning greaves, and some other stuff.
So I'm going through some hardcore nostalgia for war hammer fantasy. Since GW has ruined it and it's fading into oblivion, does anyone have any recommendations for a war game to get into? Preferably something affordable and popular? I'd rather it not be something weird and super magicy or advanced. I really like more medeiros style stuff.

Have a bloodborne random roll weapon table, roll 2d10:

1-3 "Hunter's -" (workshop): Adds half of its damage (rounded down) again to any attacks vs. targets classed as Beast or Kin
4-6 "Holy -" (Church): Transformation causes all damage dealt by this weapon to be treated as Arcane as well as physical for the purpose of armor penetration
7 "Martyr's -" (Executioner): Transformation allows user to give themselves upto 4 damage to their torso in exchange for an equal amount of arcane damage to target.
8 "Knight's -" (Vileblood): Transformed state causes user's torso to take 1 shock damage every turn in exchange for adding +2 blood damage to successful attacks.
9 "Explosive -" (powderkeg): Transformed state allows user to perform a special attack that slows the attack by 4 but multiplies damage by 2, with additional damage treated as fire damage.
10 "Beast's -" (Church): +1 killing damage and effect identical to taking a Beast Pellet while weilded in its transformed state

1-2 "- Long -": Adds 5 feet to range at which it can strike enemies. Additionally by reducing the speed of your attack by 3 you may make an attack roll against everyone within 5ft of you.
3-4 "- Giant -": Permanently reduces the speed of your attacks by 1 as long as it's transformed. But every time you successfully hit an opponent you knock off two dice from their set rather than one.
5 "- Shocking- ": Half again (rounded down) additional Bolt damage
6 "- Burning -": Half again (rounded down) additional fire damage
7 "- Uncanny -": Half again (rounded down) additional Arcane damage
8-9 "- Merciful -": Splits into two smaller weapons (requiring both hands to use) and +2 faster in transformed mode
10 "- Rifled -": Adds an inbuilt gun that does half the weapon's damage (rounded down) to targets out to medium range at the cost of 1 quicksilver or blood bullet per shot.
Then finish the weapon (and its name) off with a base weapon (like Sword, Wheel, etc...)
