Hey, fa/tg/uys. I'm Hawk.
I've been working on an rpg system for a long time, and so far the reception has been pretty good from my playtesters. I've already asked Reddit what they think, and most of them like it and have given some pretty good advice for how to make it even better. So, I figured I'd stop by here and see what you guys think. :)

Harsh, Lula. When you consider that Shadowrun is a really specific brand of cyber-fantasy (+orcs, -hovercars), and that plenty of other microgenres have dozens of competing RPG systems, and the rules to Shadowrun are a hot mess to begin with, it doesn't seem fair to dismiss OP's concept right at the elevator pitch.
Settings with advanced isolationists? Preferably with a tiny population?
Not just "We're a few years ahead" or "the tech advantage of the USA over military and listening organisations" advanced, but civilizations who are eclipse-phase era but for whatever reason not deliberately dominant sharing a planet with AD1500 era civilizations sort of advanced.
The tiny pop is optional but preferred. Gives more excuses for things to be weird - research opportunities ignored because they couldn't crack them, bizarre forms of government, etc....

Why would a dolphin need a fully enclosed helmet? They breathe air. I could see a full body suit to keep their skin wet and for movement, but there should at least be a tube or something connected to the blowhole.

The classic highschool heartthrob and jock, he grew up into a bit of a loser. Lives in his parents basement after dropping out of college on a sports scholarship, and never grew out of his childhood nickname because of it. Never let his fitness slip though and makes the small amount of money he has through underground fight clubs. Before anyone shits on it, you should look into Age of Sigmar. Its rules are simple yet allow you to try different tactics/strageties with its various factions and rules. Make your own decisions about it because it isnt for everyone and people will try their best to make it sound absolutely horrible. I will admit that it may be tricky to find a community to play it because you'll get crucified for just being interested in it. Same goes for Fantasy Battles and 40k. You cant go wrong with any of these but each...

Here's a thought. What would happen if Crystal Frasier (of Paizo; famous recently for offending transgender gamers everywhere by making light of their struggle with her writing for the Iconic Shaman) suddenly began writing 40k fluff.
Now, I don't play 40k, but I understand that all space marines are dudes, and fans get REALLY SALTY when the possibility of Lady Marines is brought up.
Chances are, result is Pic Related, with the caveat that the marine in the pic is a dude who REALLY wants to be a woman, but refuses to get... I dunno.... gene splicing treatment...

What would you like to see in a video game about administrating an adventurer guild?
Ability to select classes and form parties. Named characters with personalities so that I think "Oh, those two are going to a dungeon to level, neat" instead of Generic Fighter #34 and #32 altering some numbers on a spreadsheet.

Maybe instead of players creating the adventurers from 0 offer them a variety of characters they can choose for their guild, that way you can create a good experience with character development.
Also from an economic.pov you could make a sequel usinh some of those characters and adding some more.

Anyone have experience with Christian Boardgame groups?
One near my area that has an event with free waffles next tuesday and was wondering if its actual boardgames or if its just a group of people trying to save my soul.
It's obviously a sinister trap, and you'll inevitably end up going there, learning something, and wind up a better person than you are now.

It's probably just a group of Christians who play boardgames. Sort of like going to a gaming event with Sam Healey and Tom Vasel, I imagine. Yes, there is probably an element of evangelism, but I imagine it's more "hey, we are Christians and play games, come play with us", rather than get you in and preach at you.

So I'm throwing together a setting where the world is fucked, modern military setting. More or less a classic formula. However there is a twist, the apocalypse itself is different for every country because it's based around the blood they have on their hands.
Germany is overran with Wolfenstien style Nazibots. Britbongs have to worry about Medieval knights coming back from the dead with angel wings to go full sister of battle on them by purging everything in a crusade. Americans have to deal with the angered ghost of Indians.

With Russians I'd have Tsarist forces rounding up and liquidating everyone like they were by the Soviets.

Well, Imperial Russia quite enjoyed slaughtering the Siberian peoples, so you could go with shamanic vengeance from the tundras, which could be a lot of fun.
I'd also recommend using various colonialist retributions for the British as well- they were responsible for a shitload of deaths in India and Africa. Almost certainly more blood on their hands from that than crusading, especially given that Britain was a minor participant (and they'd have to deal with Arabic Muslim ghosts, anyways).

Are there any examples of individuals in the Imperium not under any of the military or religious branches that have assembled armies to fight the enemies of man? Maybe those already of power, such as planetary nobles not part of a Knight or Rogue Trader house?

Well, why would they? If they're not military, its not their duty. If they're not religious, they're not doing it for faith.
I know that some merchants scrape together private security forces and mercenaries to do military stuff for them, though the ones I know of were heretics. I suppose nobles could use their private guard, but they'd probably send them against a rival noble more than waste them against enemies of the Imperium that the Guard are supposed to be fighting.
At best, you could probably do something with Rouge Trader houses, but...
