Post pictures of scenes or characters that in your opinion, fit to some music.

Post the music too, for practicality.

Given the long-term threat of the Tyranids, to say nothing of the Necrons, Orks and Chaos, why don't the Eldar and Imperium put their differences aside and form an alliance?

Or hell, even include the Tau?

Battling over the shitty little planets and sectors they stay at each others' throats for seems suicidal in the face of multiple Tyranid hive fleets bearing down on the galaxy.

Long history of mutual aggression.

Xenophobia on both ends, although one's out of declared superiority and the other's more pure anti-alien zealotry.

The Eldar ain't saints and suffer not the alien to live.

Maybe the Nids will change it, fuck it, in the face of the nids i feel like they could maybe even convince the Orks to go after the "stabby gitz", but that's then and this is now.
>>
>>47513137
Generally, the Eldar believe the Humans are them in reverse, where the Eldar gods had a steady incline to a fast death, to the GEoM having a massive start and now a slow decay. They're more or less thinking along the lines that Humans are (relatively) soon to end, and that they'll last longer on their own. They also think of the Tau and Humans as little more than meddlesome children.

Humans, on the other hand, have the exact opposite view, thinking they're soon to be rulers of the galaxy, and that xenos 'helping' them would just be acts of begging for mercy.

Tau are even more hardcore than both on this matter, as humans and Eldar tend to look down on the Greater Good.

Without TTS I couldn't ever have played KDM or Cthulhu wars. It also helps if you want to get into reviewing games on a budget. This has been the best way to try before you buy for me and play old games that are out of print. The downsides are the learning curve and some games are inferior without the physicality.
>>
>>47513263

I'd also add that it's tough to get to play more obscure stuff, because the casual player doesn't want to play a 2-3 hour games.

Finding someone to play Tikal was hard, I'll tell you that much.

You have put in creative charge of the next Magic block. The remit you have been given is to come up with a new plane that has not been previously represented in M:tG and a general overview of what the setting is "about" (i.e Arthurian knights, tomb-delving etc) and what each of the colours look like on this plane, how they are represented in different factions or races.

What do you do?

A world where the pure Empire of Man (White) constantly mans a wall against the subhumans.
>>
>>47512059

Its name: Trumpvania.
>>
The most generic fantasy world ever. Knights fighting dragons, goblins, zombies, etc. Mostly creatures, a few equipments (equippable only to humans), some tribal instants/sorceries (that can only be cast if you have an appropriately-typed creature), no enchantments, no magic. No races other than humans and the 4-6 monster types. No multicolored cards. Avaricious Dragon and Fiendslayer Paladin are the duel deck cover cards.

Imagine how fun the drafts would be.

"My, my, it's been awhile," Marduk remarks at the sight of Dyrus and Belle. "I didn't realize you two were acquainted. Small world, huh?"

"...hello, Marduk." Belle responds, rather tersely.

"Hear you two were around Rene awhile," the eldest wyvern-riding sibling says. "She mad at me?"

"Enough to lash out at Omar a little," Dyrus responds.

"I see..." Marduk shuts his eyes. "Understandable after I literally put a spear in her back, I guess... No turning back now, though. Know I wouldn't for the world..."

Samson, meanwhile, continues doing as he has been doing: doubting himself and his worthiness as a commander. Still, though, he's set to meet up with Adelais Dory. "Play nice" with her certainly means his fleet will be turned over to her in all but name, and he still has no idea what to expect out of her as a person.

You are now Samson, set to arrive at Eyve Island, an isle about as far Southeast from Briggid Island as one can get without being considered outside of the subregion, in a few short hours.

For your father, you tell yourself, for your father...

Fabrice is keeping to himself belowdecks, planning plans, Edwyg and Dinah are training together, and Adam is regaling Millie and Norman with a seafaring anecdote.

You seek out Fabrice, figuring you could stand to either brainstorm or act as a sounding board for his ideas, whichever works out.

"Ah, Samson," he says, "hold a moment, I just need to reapply my face... I said don't come in!" He glares, in the midst of applying something or another before a hand-mirror. At a table below him is a map of the Coastal region at large, coupled with one of the Briggid subregion. Tiny flags, pins, markings made in some sort of makeup or another...

"Relax, man, I've seen you in prison locked away from all your pretty-making things," you say, a bit snappier than you might have intended. "Now, I'm here to talk longterm plans, not bother you about-" Your eyes widen as you finally become aware of the aroma of some very strong perfume. "Gods, man, these ships have windows!"

"Sorry, sorry... I did warn you not to just barge in when I'm not yet beautiful."

"Can we move past this now? Alright, cool, what're you puzzling out here?"

"Merely weighing out the pros and cons of this little... Venture you've set us on. Setting my biases for getting onto the mainland quickly, we need to anticipate just how long Oswald Dory intends to hold his hostage. Certainly, the earliest will be the signing of Hera's death warrant, but he may improvise any number of reasons to prolong Lazare's involuntary visit..."

>A. Not much you can do if that happens
>B. You won't let him squeeze more demands out
>C. What would [Fabrice] have us do about it, huh?!
>D. Write-in response

Sup /tg/, I am in the process of creating demographics for my world and I need a little help, I have been looking into the % of the population which can be raised as a campaign army, I have seen a few numbers thrown around from 1% to 10% generally.

What percentage of the army is generally mounted knights?

How big are mercenary companies?

How many soldiers in a force will be trained and how many will be farmers with a spear?

That REALLY depends on the culture, society, their wealth, and the fertility of their land.

What you should ultimately be looking at is professional warriors, and how many men are required to serve their lords in militias.

Another Malal thread. This time, instead of 40K let's make stats for Warhammer Fantasy which /tg/ has been neglecting so far. My suggestions for representing Malal in the Warriors of Chaos are:
>Mark of Malal grants Killing Blow. 2pts per model, 10pts for characters.
>Daemon of Malal grants re-rolls of all To Hit rolls of 1 and Hatred (Daemons). 10pts for a Daemon Prince.
>Forsaken of Malal has Fight in Extra Ranks (2pts each)
>Spawn of Malal has Hatred (10pts each)
>Giant of Malal has +1 Movement (10pts)

I have to say, killing blow for 2 points on troops is a bit too strong, nor really even imposed by fluff.

Malal represents infighting and in a certain way creeping all-consuming fear (considering its choice for the types of daemons), or at least this is what I'm led to think.

So, why don't play with the possibility of malal's mark to give a leadership related rule? something involving terror? or perhaps negation of ranks bonus or to stay more in line with the suggested rule:
>mind-creeper: unsaved close combat attacks from a model with this rule that rolled a 6 to wound count twice for the purpose of combat resolution.
it is not much but can provide an edge without being too relevant, especially against daemons now that I think abut it
>>
>>47510634
Bumping for interest.

Also what would Beastmen of Malal look like? What kind of bonuses would they get?

Calling all DMs, GMs, Referees, Storytellers, and whoever the hell else is out there. I recently started running a game again after a long hiatus and I feel rusty as hell.

What program are you guys using to make maps electronically these days? I know Dundjinni used to be a big name, and I vaguely recall another (free) tool. I'm running on Roll20 and using the maps that came with the adventure for now, but eventually I'll have to start making my own.

How much work do you put into describing the results of attacks and actions? Last night I kept at it for a while, but eventually we settled into a steady rhythm of "The bugbear tries to mash you with his morningstar" and the combat flowed a bit faster for it.

I describe carefully only things that are important, cool or noticeable in other way.

Killing a creature, a lucky shot, maybe some action with a recently find new weapons/power, etc.

I fucking hate being a forever GM we played another players campaign for a whole 20 minutes before it was so fucking terrible that we went back to me GMing its so fucking shitty that we stopped playing all together after I ran like 7 campaigns in a row and was so fucking tired of it.

who can relate
>>
>>47510285
I feel for you, Anon. I've been pretty much the go-to GM of my group since just after high school. It got to the point where I was running 3 campaigns simultaneously and was burning out on all of them. One of my players is a great ST/GM and we always enjoy his campaigns, but it got to the point where I had to almost blackmail him to actually get him to run. Sure enough after he started he enjoyed it and made a good campaign. Though I still feel like a shitter for pushing it on him. But I can finally play as well as run.

You look towards the encamped Nitor, the schola personnel all having stopped whatever arcane fiddling they were doing to watch the performance you put on. Slowly you look towards the lead Magi that doubted your ability to create a backdoor. "Well, was this what you wanted to see?"

Liama laughs as his face shifts through a wide range of emotions, lit by the glow of the rapidly cooling rock you just burned your way through. Before he says anything Captain Keel intercepts him, pushing the sputtering Magi into the waiting grasp of his aides. "Don't pay him no mind, he's just not good on being wrong."

Judging the stone safe to slither on, you thread your way through the tunnel, barely popping your head out into the main cavern. The ruin of the great ship you sabotaged lies listing on one side, tilted toward the center of the lagoon. As your eyes adjust to the gloom, you notice significantly fewer figures inside the cavern, but aren't able to get a real good look until the whipcrack of a rifle and the plink of a round hitting the wall near your position sends you scurrying back outside.

"Well," You say to the general assembly, "We've a way in. Only they've got it covered."
