Hey /tg/ I recently acquired some counterfeit magic cards, and although they look pretty good, you can still tell they are just proxies. Are there any places to get proxies that will pass for real at a tournament?

The good ones will pass because nobody will pay enough attention to them.
But the feeling I'm getting from proxies is that they send you anything they printed even the fuck-ups: Yesterday I recived 2 bretty gud goyfs but 4 shitty ensnaring bridges and 4 terrible aether vial. The bridges were almost black and the vials were all blurry.

In general my experience is:

In my setting the merchants ride "tower beasts" which are like a mix between an elephant, a bison, and a camel. Massive, bulky things that allow the rider and his goods to sit up very high off the ground. Many don't even need to hire guards, since the beast can defend itself and its rider quite well.

So, since I can't get Fallout 4 to run on my old comp, and I'm over halfway through binge reading Revenge and Gold quest, I thought I'd stop and propose a silly little project, something in line with old adage "/tg/ gets shit done".

Namely, I noted that, with 5 notable and remembered quests (Though why so few people remember House Bulwark is an interesting question), there's likely more than enough to make a custom deck of /tg/ houses for Game of Thrones, the Living Card Game.

And since I have a few hours to spare, but not enough to actually run my quest, I thought I'd head up this silly, silly project.

Now, I'm going to be basing everything off the SECOND edition, which just recently came out. If you don't know it, or the LCG in general, I plan to explain it shortly.

Here's the preliminary information: a study of the House Decks released in the core set shows that each deck consists of essentially the same load-out:
3 events, 1 Attachment, 4 locations (one being a repeat of another), and 12 characters.
The only deck to violate this is the Night's watch, which sacrifices 2 locations for an extra event and character. So our baselline will be 12 characters, 3 events, 1 attachment, and 4 locations.

So, first off, the logical auto-includes:

Lord William Bordain

Lord Brynden Malroy

Lord Dustain Karban

Lord Artys Harrock

Lord Garrette Brachen.

Personally, I also think we could include

Dontos Malroy

Damien Clawwater

Oskar Stone

and then have 4 non-unique characters.

You may wonder why I picked those three. For Dontos, it's a matter of his excellent character. For the other two, I liked the idea of the deck including some Night's Watch characters, making the custom deck the only one to include such characters, making them an easy deck combination.

Locations, I have to say are a touch trickier, though I think the generic repeated location should be a Mine, given their notorious wealth producing capabilities in GoT threads.

Of course, we could always scrap the generics and add more characters. This is all very off the cuff.

Now, for some basic explanation of the LCG in general, and the 2nd edition in particular.

If you've never played, the Game of Thrones LCG is, logically, a living card game set in the Song of Ice and Fire universe.

The basic goal is to accumulate 15 power before your enemies.

There are three kinds of challenges, each with differing results.

Military challenges represent force of arms, and allow you to kill your opponents characters if successful.

Intrigue challenges represent scheming, treachery, and short-term political manuevering, and force the opponent to discard cards, disrupting his plans if successful.

Power challenges represent establishing political dominance, force of will, and personal presence, and take power from your opponent if successful.

As such, I think it's safe to say that, for instance, William and Malroy likely have military icons, allowing them to participate in military challenges. It's unlikely William has an Intrigue Icon, given his general lack of political acumen.

Now, beyond these basic interactions lies the PLOT cards, which, in addition to having a noteworthy effect, determine your initiative, base gold for the turn, and your claim. In the second edition, they also determine your reserve.

The winner of initiative decides which player acts first, which, depending on the house, could be an advantage or disadvantage.

Gold is what you use to play cards.

And claim determines how much of the resource you affect when you win a relevant challenge. (so if you have claim 2, and win a military challenge, you kill 2 of the opponent's characters)

Reserve is your maximum hand size allowed at end of turn.

Various cards are allowed to affect basically every part of the values I've listed. Some characters improve your initiative, some roles increase reserve, Cersei, for example, raises your claim during Intrigue challenges.

One of the "evil" factions from classic Warhammer replaces the entire populace of Spain and Portugal in the year 1450. They get access to all that land's cities, resources, etc. but the rest of the world notices the replacement very quickly. There is no more gaping Chaos asshole, but the winds of magic still flow somewhat moderately all over the world.

So, which faction would fuck medieval Europe/North Africa the hardest? Do the normal humans have any chance of fighting back against any of them?

Welcome to Academy City. The time is morning, the weather is uplifting, and the date is now January 28.

You Kyril Torikov, Level 3 telekinetic ‘superhero’, and you were hoping today would be less eventful. Though with Nayuta’s cheery smile as you entered the office you doubted it. Yesterday’s peace talks looked like it would drag on and on. An untimely attack by a third party, and a Code M no less, managed to convince both the Russian delegation and the City’s representatives of the need for peace. Just as well, since you were now relieved guarding the Russian envoy. Your troubles were not over however.

Nayuta’s battlestation had multiple webpages open. All of them were ranting and raving about the latest VERDICT sighting. Slapped somewhere prominently each page was a picture of you in uniform walking out of an alley. At the time you had just dealt with a Code M that had attacked the peace conference. The knife fight was short but bloody all the same. It covered our uniform in blood and left a distinctive bloody hand print on the side of your helmet. It also made for quite a photo.

You had to hide the shock of being told that VERDICT was actually quite famous now. At least, within Academy City’s SNS and the greater internet population. Everyone and their mother seemed to have an opinion on you and they weren’t really shy about expressing them. Some of them had an Orwellian bent but just as much had romantic views of your work. It was annoying Nayuta. She had been getting requests from all over the City for an exclusive interview or comment. You weren’t sure if her waiting for you to check in for work on a lazy Sunday morning was the beginning of trouble or not. Still she need an answer,

I've been talking with my local game workshop store and he says that he only sells game workshop items nothing forge world.

Isn't forge world part of games workshop isn't it sold in stores in both the US and UK?

A blaster bolt flies past you. You could feel the heat searing your arm as you and Misri dive for cover. The screaming and stampeding starts as all the partygoers start running for the exits. Understandable, it’s not every day people get thrown into a firefight with BX Commando droids. You quickly grab a shocked and confused Misri and throw the two of you behind an overturned refreshments table. The disguised Commando droids jump to the sides, immediately intending to flank you.

“My museum!” yells Rotta. “Activate Ray Shields!” Ray shields immediately cast right over the valuable and ancient art pieces, from the murals, to the Basilisk, to the sculptures… except for the modern art pieces. You guess Rotta only invests in shields on things he’s afraid to lose. “Droids!” he screams as he slithers into cover behind a ray shielded artifact. Droidekas immediately pop out of the walls, rolling in. That would intimidate any robber or rebel. But these are Commando droids. And methodically, they immediately spin around and pop the Droidekas as they roll in, before they even get a chance to get the shields out. “Ah! I knew I should’ve invested in gun turrets!”

“Rotta!” you yell. A quick poke of your head above the table and you’re immediately assailed by suppressive fire. Lesser B2s and B1s drop their waiter and greeter acts and pull out their own blasters. “I need a blaster!” The Commandos are only distracted for a few seconds by the wild and inaccurate shots of the old battle droids. Heads go flying and others get split completely in half under the accurate fire of the Commandos.

Rotta nods, pointing to you. “Stay right there! I’ll be right back!” A few partygoers trip and fall over his tail as he slithers away to his office. Ugh, this is going to take a while.

“What’s going on!?” shouts Misri. “Why are they shooting at us!?”

“They’re not shooting at you, they’re shooting at me,” you correct. “And as for-“ A bolt explodes right off the table. A huge chunk of cover is now gone. “Okay, we need to keep moving, get behind that statue, go!” She nods, immediately running like she isn’t blind and diving behind the statue of a sitting Sith Soldier. As you predicted, they didn’t shoot at her, they have no reason to.

But the minute you pop out of cover, you’re almost given some new breathing holes. You dive back behind the table. “On your right!” yells Misri. You quickly rise up to a crouch, and find a Stormtrooper Droid pointing his blaster down at you. Oh boy.

The next second can be described as a lot of things. You dodge his point blank blaster shot. You jump up and drop kick him backwards. He cartwheels backward into a standing position again, and this time rather smartly decides to blast you from a distance. You grab a plate and quickly pitch it to him. It bursts into a million pieces off of his helmet, throwing him over a small artwork piece and buying you some valuable time.

“Rhys!” yells Rotta from across the museum. He holds… a Disrupter Rifle!? He quickly hands it off to one of last B1 escorts. The B1 throws it to you across the room, and right into your arms. A DXR-6 Disruptor! These things are illegal basically everywhere! “I am heading to my safe room! If real cops find you with that, you didn’t get it from me!” he screams as he squirms back into his office.

Oh, great.

Hear ye, hear ye! I call to order a disturbing meeting of the Mages' Guild. All persons of magical ability assemble if this concerns you!

I've got some disturbing news for you all, this week - There's a new guild trying to set up shop in the city. Normally, this wouldn't be a big deal. Hell, new guilds pop up all the time. This one, however, claims that the Mages' Guild is old hat. They're calling themselves the University for Magical Studies, and they've been advertising all over the place with papers and displays of power to the local nobles. I know how I would deal with this, but this is a matter for the council, not just for one person. How do you all suggest we handle this? Are we going to go on our own publicity campaign, or are we going to challenge them to some sort of wizarding duel?

I've been DMing for my group for a little over 2 years now, and somehow it has worked out. I didn't know anything of the settings or actual things besides "characters have classes" and "magic and monsters exist" was really in dnd. But I started to DM, and with the twin batons of Lies and Making Shit Up, I bludgeoned a story and setting that, looking back, was downright silly. Here are a few examples of the things my players have been forced to deal with.
>There was a group of 4 adventurers many years ago that saved the world. I based them of the Beatles. John was an acended black dragon who was turned into a vampire by Yoko. Paul created a paladinhood who drew power out of pure LAW. George became a warrior monk no one ever heard about. Ringo learned to turn into a bear for max comfy sleepy times.
