How'd the househunting go?
Speaking of houses, didn't we bring up the idea of a combat maid group for our holdings?
I know we considered getting a security staff because of wandering monsters at our island manor.

There was no going back now. In front of you stood your birthplace, still, you weren’t really born, but created and thus to you it felt now more like a hellish and cold place rather than home. An incoming vox-message started blasting across the speakers of the Command Bridge.
“Unidentified Frigate, you bear the Mark of the Mechanicus. Your arrival was not scheduled, identify yourself in less than a minute or we will open fire.”
You walked towards the microphonii and cleared your throat.
“We are the Lux in Tenebris, an exploratory vessel at the service...

That place was available for everybody, be it part of the Mechanicus or not, yet it had a great fare of thrones to be used. Any merchant that wanted to dock their ship and use the Elevator to safely descend its goods would have to pay an extortionate price; the other option was to use orbital transports to disembark their wares, a process that was way slower and risky.
Your ship docked next to several other ones, who were either incredibly big or surprisingly small in comparison. They were of several origins;...

“I welcome to you all to our humble Space Station, the “Sigarum Pharus”. We have been expecting your return for years but just when it came, we weren’t able to perceive it, I hope you can forgive us oh great Luminangelus. You and your men are free to stay here as long as you wish and will have free access to any to its Librariums, Forges, Chapels and the…the many business that have installed in there. The people of Telematha have also been informed of your come and are eagerly awaiting your descent....

How strong is your average Space Marine? Everywhere I look seems to put them at anywhere from 5-10 ton lifters depending on the author and the type of armor they're wearing.
As strong as they need to be to sound impressive.
>>43607938
No, they're much stronger than just 10 ton lifters. Space Marines outside of armor and nekkid have the strength of ten men, power armor multiplies this a further ten times, which puts them well into the double digit benching range.
Which makes sense considering that Astartes do shit like rip apart tank armor with their bare hands, push tanks and large vehicles around, carry tree logs without exertion, etc.
>>43608024
well if an average man (lets assume guard) can bench press 200lbs one rep max (this is probably still low) a marine not wearing armor can bench press 1 ton and with armor 10 tons. Sounds about right to me.
What is the result ?
40k is shit.

Last thread people complained that *everyone* knows about the Dresden Files. Likewise, everyone knows about things like Buffy and Fringe and Supernatural--they're even listed as inspirations.
What are some lesser known inspirational material for urban fantasy? I talked a bit about Greywalker, and Walker Papers near the end, and some other Anon linked Stroke of Dumb Luck, which you can read here

Reposting from last thread:
>I've been reading the Greywalker series, and while I think Kat Richardson has trouble describing things (come to think of it, I wonder if maybe that's because of the whole "she doesn't own a television" thing her About page proudly declares?) and the .epub has some bad formatting and a few spelling errors, but Greywalker is really good for an idea of what Twilight might be like--she's very much got that whole Geisty "seeing the dead all the time and having trouble drowning them out"...

Being Human is a pretty decent show; both the US and the UK versions. I like the UK version more, in terms of story, though.
It's sourced in the Beast book, iirc, as an Inspiration, though, so I guess it's a bit of a given. Basically, it's about a Vampire(Daeva or Ventrue, both fit)and a Werewolf(more of a Wolf-Blooded with a Tell that turns him into Gauru or Urshul form on the full moon, depending on which show you watch), who decide to move into a house together to try and pretend they're...

Just to put a new spin on an age-old concept
>Good-aligned female goddess of war

How would you execute this in a way that makes sense?

I'm just going to leave this here.
>>43607164
yeah, so what?
>you have the opportunity to murder a baby you know will grow up to be evil
Is this an evil act?
>you have the opportunity by magical means to compel a woman to miscarry. If she bears the child, it will grow up to be evil.
Is this an evil act? Is it more or less evil to do it without consulting her? What if she refuses to kill the baby?
>>43606711
Yes, its evil. The question is: Is that evil worth doing?
It would be more evil to do it without consulting her, but less even than if you consulted with her and did it anyway.
>>43606711
I would say yes. The 'path of good' says to raise the child and watch over them, try to make them good. Even if it's futile, can't punish someone for something they haven't done yet.
However, if you know it's a fact you cut that fucker down the second they go to do something "evil".
Or you could go the "morals aren't black and white route" but that probably makes you evil in most alignment cases.
>>43606711
Killing the baby is justifiable but its the ''easy'' option. The more ''good'' option would be to raise the baby not to turn evil and have preparations for their elimination if needs be.
As for forcible miscarriage, that is evil if only because its forcing it on to another person whom is essentially an innocent bystander.
If she refuses, you prepare to either turn evil in the eyes of most people, and possibly yourself, or you prepare some form of contingency...

Let's stat Worf, let me give it a try
STR 18
DEX 15
STA 20
INT 10
WIS 14
CHA 8
CHA should be 1 point lower. WIS should be one point higher.
He knew a lot of shit and whenever advice was offered nobody listened.
"Theres Klingon reports of big black clouds in space that consume ships. Maybe we should arm weapons and back away from it."
"Cool story, Worf. Insufferable Child Navigator, bring us right up to the cloud"
OH GEE I WONDER WHAT FUCKING HAPPENS NEXT?
>>43606692
>STA
>>43606692
His CHA was actually not that bad, but he should have a 40 % penalty for dealing with nonviolent races.
When is eating the corpses of sapient creatures justifiably non-evil under D&D alignments?
Assume Purify Food and Drink handles would-be infections.
If one happens to have a cultural reason to consider it a sign of respect is the most obvious thing in my opinion.
Like you eat the flesh of strong warriors so its a sign of respect for your enemies and you would expect your enemies to do the same to you.
You won't swing Lawful most likely but NG, N, CN, and CG should all be accessible.

It's never ok if it's your own race.
It's not ok if you need food and you are a lazy faggot.
You awake with a start in the night. A chill wind blows over you, sending harsh shivers up your spine. You curl up tighter to stave off the cold of winter, but your meager clothes and a makeshift rag of a blanket can only insulate so much. You decide that sleep is a futile goal for now, and sit up, hoping movement will warm you some.
It has been some weeks since the plague took your family, and though it has subsided, mostly thanks to the aid of the church, the lives of those affected are not yet mended. With no income, your home was taken from you, and you are now forced...

So we know that the Emperor had specific roles intended for each of His sons when He made them, but why did He make them in the order that He did? What was the Emperor's thought process when He was sketching out the primarch project? This is what I came up with:
I need some leaders for my space war. First impressions are important, so I'll start with (I) the paladin (Lion El'Jonson) who needs (II) [redacted] and complements (III) the paragon (Fulgrim), none of whom can effectively wage war without (IV the sapper (Perturabo) and (V) the outrider (Jaghatai...

I did. The one post I got was from a nice guy who suggested that I add the names of the primarchs in addition to the legion numbers in case not everyone has them memorized.
Is it really shit? Why do you think GW numbered them the way they did?
