When did your player characters realize that they were not the flame?

Does anyone use things like stress or sanity is games that aren't specifically Lovecraftian? It seems like an interesting idea, but I'm not sure how my players would take it.

When the other members of our party decided to leave one of their main front line fighters, and the pin cushion creating ranger in the town to trek off into the woods to try to take on the mantis spider monsters dwelling there with a guide, and a bar wench only to all burn to death in an almost continent spanning wildfire created by the party wizard due to a knee jerk reaction even though he was specifically told that the strange goo/wax covering the whole area was highly flammable.

Meanwhile the Fighter and the Ranger are left to rally the disheartened townsmen and dig in for a long siege against the warhost of said mantis spider monsters. The campaign was scrapped after more then half of the party cooked themselves to death. I was satisfied that there were statues erected in our honour, and I laughed at the misfortune that the others died alone and scared in the middle of the dark woods.

Monk power levels for post-3.X D&D editions:

4e monk > 3.5 monk with unarmed damage size stacking > Path of War monk of the Silver Fist > 13th Age monk > 5e monk > Pathfinder monk unchained > regular Pathfinder monk > regular 3.5 monk
>>
>>43636971
anywhere from 29 to 45
>>
>>43636981
I'd say 4e monk would be a little lower, but otherwise i agree.

If I ever did a fox related character
it would be the one from the redwall series, where he wears the skin of a wolf he 'killed'
that is how you play a fox, a vicious vermin who has the scream of a banshee

Not really into pauper, but a friend of mine wanted to try out Pauper EDH.

What would be a strong Pauper general in your opinion? I was thinking of Wasp Lancer for U/B faries/rogues.

I'm probably correct to assume that blue is the strongest color in Pauper?
>>

Dunno, maybe because of counters, but elves are bretty gud too.

Currently I am playing Mono U Delver and Reanimator.
Delver works great, it's a very solid deck with tons of responses.
Reanimator... it's shit. But when it works it obliterates everything

thats the thing with delver/fairies, it can be easily tailored to stop anything.

Did other nations in the fallout world have vaults aswell?
I am asking this becuase I want to run a fallout game that is not set in the US.
318 posts and 42 images submitted.
>>
>>43636589
No one knows. They probably didn't have vault-tec ones with experiments and other hidden purposes but there is no reason for rest of the world to not have their own nuclear shelters. There is nothing in the fallout canon about rest of the world.
>>
IRL Russia has bunkers in the event of nuclear war.
>>
Vault tec was an American company and the fallout economy wasn't nearly as globalized being a hyper cold war, but you could simply come up with your own Vaulttec expy or government shelters. To say nothing of US imperialism into Canada, Japan, and China in the fallout universe

While there tends to be a sort of agreement on how elves and dwarfs should be (at least superficially), gnomes are one of those races that are depicted differently in practically every setting. The only real commonality is they're small, but even then their smallness ranges from "child sized" to "pinkie sized".

How does /tg/ like gnomes?

In my head there are gnomes, pic related, and "dnd gnomes" who are usually scrawny halflings.

Tinker gnomes like Warcraft just kind of don't come up when the word is mentioned

Why is modern 40k art so soulless?
359 posts and 95 images submitted.

Because it's done digitally instead of by hand.

And it's not soulless you're just a hipster and mistake nostalgia and primitive, outdated technical skills as characterful.

It's done lazily with a veneer of sugar-coated colours. Such is the way of everything that cynically appeals 2dakidz.

It comes off even worse than the norm because of what it used to be.

Oh fuck, /tg/. I'm DM'ing tomorrow and I've spent all week ignoring my duties to play Fallout.

I need quests. Simple town quests to give to my PCs until they level up and take on their first dungeon. Gimme some ideas that don't completely suck.

I have to sleep for now but I'll read them all when I wake up.

Take a quest from Fallout 4, change names and creatures and location. Add or remove what is needed. Stop posting on /tg/ asking to GM for you.

Never fear, /tg/ is here, to fix all your GMing fuck-ups.

A rebellious child has wandered away from the village. The players must find the young vagabond and escort him back home. There's all sorts of variations you can tack onto that premise.

>Several guards tired of low wages and long hours have taken an entire tavern hostage.
>A tiefling orphan compulsively kills and tortures small animals, and needs either a good home or a stern talking to so they walk away from the path of evil.
>Otyugh in the sewers, players will have to position themselves carefully so that it doesn't get a chance to hit them.
>Several farmers in the fields have been infected with tetanus.
>A critically wounded demon falls from a gate in the sky, and begins to rampage. The only cold iron weapon is at the museum, and is the only thing for miles that can kill him.
>A ghoul who works an honest gravedigging job is tired of being harassed on a nightly basis by a zealous cleric.

Planning to run a low-power epic 6 game.

What I wonder; anyone know of base classes that only have 5-10 levels so someone can at least get full progression in something? Doesn't matter the d20 version, they're easy to adapt.
24 posts and 5 images submitted.
>>
You could always take an existing class and chop it down. Condense three levels in to one, so the fighter at 1 has everything from 1 to 3 on a normal level progression, level 2 had 4-6, etc.

It makes power scaling spiral out of control rather quickly, unless you put a serious slowdown but I think the only other thing that has less than 20 levels that isn't a prestige class is the classes from d20 Modern.

What system really captures the 'feel' of James Bond /tg/?

Alternatively we could just stat Jaws in our favourite systems?

How about Victory Games ol' rpg called, coincidentally, James Bond RPG. Jaws is stated in there and everything.
>>
>>43635305
Ninjas and Superspies does a good job of it, if you can deal with the Palladium system. Gageteer Agents are pretty much James Bond, and since the game is compatible with the rest of the Pal universe, you can fight space elves or giant robots or aliens or whatever, or just other spies.

Barring that, >>43635552 this.

Indeed

Scenarios are altered slightly so that you won't be spoiled if you've seen the movie, and because of copyright they had to use "Skorpios" and "TAROT" instead of Blofeld and SPECTRE. But there is a serious emphasis on keeping the feel of the movies.

You remembered when things were simple. When a man could grab an ice cold beverage with a couple of gleaming coins. A time when a man could buy a house on a hill and proudly say, "This is mine." A time where people didn't really mind or care why you were passing through. A time where a man could make a choice and never second guess himself.Where variety was available but you never too overwhelmed by what was offered.

You sigh, and pack a couple more SPICK N SPAM cans into your pack and frown. You were hoping there would a bit more here. Maybe there was some jerky you could...

A thundering roar interrupts your thoughts as you hear your new acquaintance come barreling down the adjacent aisle, ripping up huge chunks of tile as it charges.

Grabbing your pack, crossbow, and new dinner plan, you begin high tailing it for the exit. You knock over a shelf and throw out the last of the caltrops that you kept just in case.

You also remember a man could go to the store without someone trying to interrupt his shopping experience.

Your feet slam the ground in well practiced rhythm as you expertly turn the corner, continually knocking over more empty displays to litter your trail. Leaping over debris and other assorted bits of fallen roof and metal you almost laugh at how routine things had become. You sprint past the medicinal aisle giving a little whoop as you almost trip over "Phil the Pill." and "Gerturde Germ". Hopping a bit, you let out a shortlived curse before seeing the dirty and broken glass doors of the Supermarket.

Seeing how the exit is well within sight, you wonder if you should take a peek and really see what you're dealing with. Of course you won't be staying long enough to really appreciate this marvel of Wasteland evolution, so why bother.

What do brave anon.

I mean, got any suggestions? It seems like rewarding immersive role play with in game rewards seems disjointed, like Whose Line is it Anyway but with RP. But it also encourages the behavior a lot of GMs want out of their game.

They played it just last month.
