So, I have a faggot friend who is learning GURPS, and he's trying to defend it to me. I put a challenge to him, and he failed it, but said that you fuckers would know. Anyone feel like trying to prove GURPS a superior system? I want to play Palom and Porom. Not Palom, not Porom, Palon AND Porom. Is this possible in gurps, and how thoroughly gimped will they be by it? Also, I want dualcasting. That was a cool mechanic, and I bet I can do a lot more with it in an RPG.

Lean Duplication, Learn Magery, Learn appropriate spells.

Have one duplicate cast black magic, have the other cast white magic.

I don't even play GURPS and I found this in 5 minutes of googling and searching through the basic rules.
>>
>>43634694

dude, that's casting a spell to double your characters, not PLAYING two characters. I'm asking if GURPS has rules to let my character technically be two characters.
>>
>>43634304
I'm not familiar with those characters, but dual casting can be accomplished with Compartmentalized Mind for extra mental actions. And you might need high magic skills to cast without physical action to make it work, as well, I can't quite recall.

Hey /tg/ I need your help. Are there any good systems that do a good job of simulating space battles between space fleets (anywhere between duels between frigates all the way up to massive battles between capital ship squadrons)? I was hoping for something similar to the Star Wars movies in terms of how the science works (in that science doesn't matter at all).
I'm running a space opera game for my friends in a couple of weeks, and I'm not certain what system will be best for simulating battles between their forces and the enemies' starfleets.

>Can you trust your fellow players not to ruin everything forever if you miss a session of your favorite quest?
Yes, in general other players seem to have a united and clear goal, with the only dissension occurring with waifus, which are largely irrelevant.

Unfortunately, with this quest the problem is having the QM run it, not me missing it.

Welcome to the strange world of TaleGear! A world of duality! A world of magic and technology! A world of faith and science! A world of good and evil! A world of law and crime! Anywho, this is both a mechanics and setting project. Let me lay out the basic setting first: Imagine a world full of unusual creatures, each with shared culture and different groups. There are great nations vibrant and wonderful, cathedrals dark and looming, and strange powers with unusual applications! The three great races, Humanity, Goblinkin, and Skrienkind, while all of a species wide culture, have variations from being of different nations. Keep in mind however, all that is known to the three great peoples is one giant continent. Not to say there's not other lands, but they're unknown and mysterious to all. New technologies have allowed the dying to live on as mighty mechanical giants known as Technaughts. Right, now in terms of mechanics and crunch, all I know is that the game will operate with WoD-esque dot systems, skill trees, and d8s as the only dice. I will upload pictures of the races, and include a general description for them, but feel free to comment on what I have at the moment.

TaleGear Human.png
67KB, 800x600px
Humans are the most naturally durable species known. Their ability to survive damage despite all odds confuses both Goblins and Skrien alike. Humanity also bears the longest gestation period of all sentient creatures known. But where they're durable, they are also rather self destructive and tend to rely on their emotions in poor situations to do so. Their lack of centralized culture leads to great conflict among the human nations of the land. And in terms of the invention of weaponry, nothing can top the human talent for it.

TaleGear Goblin.png
66KB, 800x600px
Goblins are rather small, in terms of races. As due of their distant genetic relations, goblins are naturally moist, and have a certain morning dew look to them. They tend to combine magic and machinery to produce all sorts of unusual and unconventional methods of solving problems. Unfortunately, due to the shared cultural respect of thieving and pillaging, others look down upon them, leading to a belief that anything a goblin owns was stolen, and among the more paranoid, a belief the body moisture is a poisonous substance. Goblins are usually either mercenaries or merchants, seeking coin in any way they can attain it. Whole wars have been fought by goblin nations for the simple sake of having more property. Greed is most certainly a goblin's greatest sin.
>>
File: TaleGear Skrien.png (75KB, 800x600px) Image search: [Google] [Yandex] [Bing]
TaleGear Skrien.png
75KB, 800x600px
Skrien are aerodynamic and light creatures. They bear an unusual diet compared to other races, who need food and water. Skrien merely need to feed on blood from a large creature to survive. Unfortunately, Skrien are not only insanely paranoid, but also incredibly racist. They treat goblins as food and property, while humans are considered merely lesser folk. However, where other races have great technology, Skrien have fantastic and near impossible artistic feats in their lands. Skrien are also incredible architects, with structures that seem to defy all logic in their magnitude and magnificence. Their great arts, however, do not make up for their heavy faith and superstition, science has almost no place among the Skrien, them viewing it as bedevilment.

The party cleric is dragging the party to church, how can I make things interesting in the rare case the players don't rile things up themselves?

In other words, make Pic related.
>>
1. Don't make it a big deal. Just fast forward through the scene unless the players decide to do something.

2. Priest offers the players some advice and a quick blessing, and reminds them that there are several charities that are underfunded that they might be interested in supporting.
>>
Yeah, I mean, if everyone is just totally not interested I'll just fast forward, but I want to slow the pace for a few sessions before it ramps back up. Slow the pace but have some interesting stuff. I'm going to have the lord mayor there and is going to talk with them about some things, so at least there is that.

How much destruction could cause a Guillaume Heresy? And what Primarchs would be on his side?
51 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
>>43631686

What the fuck's a Guillaume?
>>
With his own Empire of 500 worlds already as a base he'd probably would have caused just as much destruction as Horus.

The real question is who could he have gotten to side with him. Besides Sanguinius, Horus was the most charismatic Primarch and this helped him recruit several. But the real crazy's like Curze/Angron would have sided with Girlyman anyway, Magnus was forced into it, and Alpharius was being Alpharius. The key ones are could he have swayed Mortarion and Perturabo, perhaps also Khan/Lion. Lorgar probably would have gone along with him if Chaos ordained it, his faith was stronger than his grudge.

Russ/Sanguinius/Ferrus/Dorn would have been loyal no matter what happened or who went traitor.

You are Urist Twelfthbay. You are the moe personification of Dwarf Fortress, and are a short, sturdy creature fond of drink and industry- in other words, a dwarf. You have the goddess of Planeptune and all things Sega bouncing around inside your braided noggin.

How's that one song go again? "One of these things is not like the other, one of these things will drive you absolutely batshit insane"?

So, yeah. So you had a particularly strange dream, followed by an unlikely string of coincidences: your telepathic Therapist ability just so happened to gain an untested upgrade, Neptune just so happened to be glitched out, and (as far as you know), this all just so happened to create some sort of cross-dimensional technobabble link. And thus, the wandering spirit of the scrawny purple-haired goddess known best for her air-headed unpredictability is now housed inside your head.

If you weren't at risk of getting annoyed to death, you'd laugh at how contrived this all is.

>[X] [UNDERSTOOD] Let Histoire focus on how to get Neptune out of your head- the sooner, the better.

You wipe away your tears and turn in Mojang's lap, giving Histoire the go-ahead. The floating Gamindustri Key Fragments bob in place, mimicking a curtsy or a nod or whatever.

>Mmhm. Don't worry, Urist and Neptune. I'll have something for you by tomorrow. Until then...

Histoire yawns again, cutting herself off; in this much-reduced and divvied-up form, she's fast running out of juice, and it'll be another day before she wakes up again. You're a little frustrated that you wasted so much of her awake time freaking out, and lost the chance to ask her more questions.

>... please be careful. Your brain carries the consciousness of one of Gamindustri's goddesses; should anything happen to her, I shudder to think what might happen to Planeptune. And mortal bodies aren't designed to... house the power of the goddesses...

Oh, well THAT'S not at all foreboding at all. Before you can ask her to elaborate, Neptune chips in.

((Got it, Histoire! You don't have to worry a thing about us- we're a great duo! Like, I'm a goddess! She's a dwarf! Together, we fight-))

Histoire's rocks clatter to the ground, inert once more.

((... crime,)) Neptune finishes lamely. ((Dang.))

You let out a sigh, feeling half-ready to crawl back into bed. Mojang's arms tighten around you- you hadn't even realized that the Minecrafter had pulled you into a worried hug.

Well, shit, no wonder she's worried. You haven't broken down like that since- jeez, you don't even REMEMBER when.

"Oneechan? Are... are you okay?" she asks carefully, stroking your hair like you're some sort of big overgrown cat. Mojang hesitates. "And, um, Lady Neptune?"

[ ] [APOLOGIZE] for making her worry. You're okay now, and she really shouldn't have seen you flipping the hell out.
[ ] [MOJANG] Deflect her question, ask her about her sleeping arrangements last night. She set her bed up next to the big lode of Sharicite? Really?
[ ] [NEPTUNE] Let Neptune take this reply. For that matter, work out how you and Neptune are going to take turns talking.

But maybe be less incredulous and just ask why.

Then drink until Nep passes out.

So we got a more significant snippet of the 6.0 release.

Good, improving transformations means we don't need to list any of the SSJ1 variants.

Here's hoping the changling transformations got fixed. I recall there being a pretty good idea for that in the suggestions doc.

Okay, can someone please just explain the basics of this system? I was thinking about learning a DBZ system for future use and I want to know if this is the one I'm looking for.
