Post your good aligned monsters that you like the best in D&D or Pathfinder in this thread.
Here is a flumph. Trust a flumph. They are your constantly relaxed friends and often the only nice folk you will meet in the worst places in all of existence.
Always love friendly kobolds. Adorable little useless bastards, the lot of them.

That basically doesn't happen anon. Neutral isn't unheard of, but good? Nope. I am sure it can happen, but it is very, very rare indeed.
For me though? Gotta go with Blink Dogs. Had one save from a Phase Spider once. Chased the spider off, vanished when the spider did and came back carrying a leg in its mouth like a stick.
He was a good dog.

Yeah you're full of bullshit. Please also tell me about the time your first level character killed a great wyrm dragon through his sheer edgy bad-assery. What you just described is literally impossible.
Hey guys, I'm new to Role playing games and after lurking on here I'm intrested in Dnd. The problem is I don't know anyone who's played it before. I have a group of friends willing to try. But I think I'll have to DM. but I'm curious on tips on how to not suck.
it's going to suck the first couple of times. things will feel uncomfortable, sometimes awkward, you'll run into scenarios you didn't plan or envision and just be at a total lost
relax. play through. have fun, don't be too serious.
and remember pic related
>>45013317
First and foremost, you're going to suck, just try to learn from your mistakes.
Try to keep things moving fairly quickly in combat (and elsewhere to a degree), even if that means you have to fudge a rule or two now and then.
Try not to let the characters get stuck at some obstacle. D&D doesn't really have rules for it, but "fail forward" is a good way of doing things. If they come to a locked door, for example, try not to have them just fail to unlock it / break it down / whatever if they roll badly, but rather have them open it noisily in some way (and potentially alert guards in the process). Unless, of course, there are other ways to continue, in which case do whatever.
Published adventures are great for getting into DMing since, while you don't know they'll be super amazing, you can usually trust them to not be terrible (and you can look up reviews online for many of them).
>>45013317
Run a module, tell everyone the buy in is snacks for shareing, give out blowjobs at the end for good roleplay.
Have fun.
Does anyone have an estimate of how long it will take to repair the Warp Drive? It's no good having Guardsmen with nothing to fight, makes them disorderly.
>>45013303
A delicate matter? Well, if the matter requires a small force then I do believe I and my staff could help you. If you need a large one.....we simply lack the manpower, it would be better to ask Verasii....unless you can't, that is.
>>45013160
As is salvation. They have one chance at redemption. As a Praecentor, my goal is to make sure they achieve that, even after their crimes.
>He nods at the commissar.
I extend my thanks to you for consulting with me. Many others would have already enacted punishments.
>>45013169
>Accepts the stims.
A good choice trooper. With the commissar and the lieutenant we'll be able to wean you off of them. You did well today.
>>45013185
And most assuredly has saved the regiment countless times over. Still, the Inquisition has a tendency to cross lines, and three Inquisitors means three times as many lines crossed.
>>45013255
Well Sergeant, you, the trooper and the Ogryn managed to keep everything together. Without that I wouldn't have been able to set up anything, and would be forced to say my sermons in the mess. Though as I've learned, the chapel is less important than the people in it.

Does anyone have a definitive answer to whether or not these are canon and if so, who are the canonical winners of the games with multiple options.
Only relevantly backed up answers please.

Why does it matter?
>>45013041
40K? Canon? Lel.

If you want them to be, sure why not? GW canon is going to shit anyway; best to pick and choose for yourself.
But Blood Angels won all of the Dawn of Wars except Soulstorm, which went to the Imperial Guard.
The same presumably goes for DoW2, Space Marine seems to confirm it.
Why was this a bad thing again?

>>45013012
Well years ago I said it was shit, another anon agreed, and it sorta snowballed from there.
We made up reasons later.
I unironically love Tau.
How fucked am I? Because clearly people don't like them and give me dicks for that deviant attraction.
I like them too, they're the only reasonable faction that isn't space elves (fuck space elves).

Exactly.
The only faction I really can relate to, because they are the most humane. More so than even human counterpart in the setting.

"Educated Fool"
<Once more, you nearly had it that time.> Veles says.
You huff in frustration and go back to the task at hand.
It's been a month since you agreed to work with Veles, and you're growing more and more thankful for McCain every day. He's managed to give daily reports on the goings on in the ranch in a small journal left in a box near the gateway. The handwriting isn't his, Tai's you wager, and if the shaky scrawl you found underneath it is any indication, one of the two centaurs are trying their hand at learning the language as well. Things have been quiet since you started your learning, the final supports and trussing for the bridge were finished two days before first frost. The crew shifting to lighter duties while the weather runs its course. While not as cozy as your own house, Veles had definitely made the effort, providing you your own set of furs to use as a makeshift bedroll, and your own 'room' to place your things.
You spent the majority of the day with the old snake, eagerly drinking in whatever new tidbit of knowledge that he felt was relevant. He was no teacher, that much was certain, and lessons pretty much consisted of whatever had his dander up at the time. He knew what he was talking about, and could explain it well enough, but planned curriculum it was not. That isn't to say you didn't learn anything, the very first things he taught you were practical applications, controlled flames, shifting earth enough to create a concealed hidey-hole on your own. Conjuring water, conjuration being far more taxing than you expected.
>>45011147
Everything else however, has been largely theory. You'd expected incantations, canned spells, or something to that effect, secrets to make you summon doom upon your enemies. It was anything but, Veles saying that the real limit of magic was your own creativity. However your creativity appeared sorely lacking as you tried to find a way to move this water from one basin to the other without spilling the contents. Veles stressing the importance of finesse excersizes.
>Continue (Give a strategy.)
>Take a break
>Go check through the notes again.
>Go check on the ranch proper.
>Ask Veles about advanced training.

Shape the earth into a trough for the water to run through. Or, allow a small trickle of water to leak, the water will follow the past of least resistance, meaning you only have to make small corrections.
Are you faithful, loyal and true to one color, your color; or do jump from color to color with no remorse like a huge chromatic slut?
It's a card game. Why be loyal to a color and rather just play deck archetypes you like?

You are Sonia Reynard, Baron of Rioja. One small world among many in the House of Jerik-Dremine. From it you control the fates of a dozen others in the so called Smuggler's Run. With your new position you have the opportunity to become one of the most influential people in your House.
It is from this world that you draw your fleets and armies from. Both have seen their first large scale deployment with a large battle in orbit of Magdalena and a follow up planetary assault.
As the Dominion slips deeper into civil war you and those under your command have been fighting to protect your little corner of known space. With the arrival of additional allies you went on the offensive to drive House Nasidum out of the DRH1 Relay. With the help of your fleet the Ruling House were able to do just that.
While still wary of Bonrah and the pocket they hold in the region you and your allies are taking a well deserved breather.
Knight Captain Katherine Drake is your fleet's Wing Commander.
Uyi Rna is the General of your Army and is overseeing occupation efforts on Magdalena.
Wiremu Tama is the admiral of your Fleet. He's been busy since the last major battle, studying the effectiveness and integration of your stafighters forces
Fadila Saqqaf is your leading diplomatic adviser. She is working with your allies to help delegate responsibilities in the occupied territories.
You're currently on Tabernas, the former capital of House Posat attending a Victory ball celebrating the defeat of local House Nasidum forces. It's been an opportunity to meet with many powerful individuals in the region and look at ways to gain support in the future.

It begins. For House and Dominion!I can't wait to hear what the results of the survey are.
Listening in on a representative of the Iratar corporation promoting the newer model Firestorm Frigates you're provided an excellent opportunity to boost sales of the EC-K. The Kavarian built frigates lack ECM support. While vital when fighting the Neeran you've noticed it tends to be overlooked by many smaller Houses fighting each other.
Aries missile and torpedo systtems have been making it just as necessary as the damned giants ever have.
While tempted to bring this up and let them dig their own grave you decide to hold off for the moment and investigate what House Kharbos is up to with their own Frigate design. The Iratar sales rep isn't going anywhere after all.
As you approach the Ambassador and their aid you hear them explaining how frigate versions of their ships could be completed with available sublight engines from older designs.
"This should increase parts commonality for those ships taking over the roles of transports and escort craft. They'll be lower performance than the corvette versions but the expanded hull will provide more room for weapons, shields, or more cargo space."
>Anything you want to ask the ambassador?
You are a Cave Hydra, big and mighty. And just recently you've wandered outside for the first time in your life for a rather unique reason. You decided to follow the dwarven caravan, which happened to go outside, However, things weren't as smooth as you hoped they would be. Your time on the surface was spent firstly by playing around in the crunchy, powdered white water, and then you destroyed something going against nature.
An undead corpse attacked you, it was a single zombie which you swiftly turned into black gooey paste after stomping on it for solid few minutes from pure anger. However, now you're facing a bit of a dilemma, this isn't exactly your problem, you live in the Mountain, so you couldn't care less for the problems of surface dwellers. But the idea that there's possibly an entire nest, a source that keeps spewing such abominations constantly makes you shudder from both fear and anger that something like this exists.
"We should investigate the dead scent trail."
"I agree, we must destroy these aberrations of nature."
Both of your heads seem deadbeat on following this faint trail of horrible stench that leads further into the forest.
>Go and destroy it.
>Ultimately, you shouldn't butt in into the problems of surface dwellers.
>What else?

Go take a look, for now, we can decide what to do about it when we actually see where they're coming from.
Also, what happened to the caravan? Have we left that behind now?
>>45007828
It entered the settlement inside the forest while you decided to scan the area.
Then zombie happened.
I want to know what you guys prefer pathfinder or 5e, I have the core stuff for both but am at a point where I really only want to invest in one or the other, I haven't played 5 yet and have only played a little of pathfinder.
>>45007072
> Playing D&D
. . . . . no.
>>45007072
play whatever your group wants to play. 5 is more balanced
5e is likely a better game. PF has more content, but most of it is unbalanced and broken with the fucked up legacy of 3.5 plus Paizo's own incompetence or biases (like making Monks even worse.)
That being said, I don't think 5e is a great game. I can understand the appeal to an extent, but it doesn't really have any innovation or creativity in its design. It's an incredible safe, standard game designed to feel like D&D while being slightly less jankballs than most other alternatives.
I'd recommend looking into other games, even if you also play D&D. The nice thing about other RPGs is that they have everything you need to run and play them in one book, something D&D seems to actively avoid (probably to milk more money out of you.)
This is the Malcontent to Imperial troop transport Informal Penance. We are standing by to initiate towing procedures, do you copy?

Last time we left off at the siege of Destiny Landing. The Svejas have stopped their attacks and doing the waiting game. You are starting to feel the effect. Your boats are fishing as much as they can, however there are no know harbours that can break the barricade.
You killed the former emperor, however his brother and now the crowned new emperor has promised vengance. The death of the Emperor and the destruction of their supplies has however also made their morale dropped significantly. You see small riots every so often and public execution of deserters amongst the Svejas.
The Longriderrs are ready for deployment, and your forces is available.
What do you do?
>>45006355
Arrange a new raid with the longraiders
>>45006355
Send the riders out during the night.
Focus on burning supplies, tents, and any other provisions they can find over attacking troops.
Avoid engaging the enemy at all costs.
You command your longriders to start a new raid. The entrance from last time is shout tight guarded, so you use the boats to transport your horses and longriders to deploy longer up on the beach.
You start the raid at the middle of the night. Next post roll decides the outcome. (+ 1 fear motivation and +1 moral) The higher the better.
