Does anyone have much experience with making Paladins for 4e? I've not made many myself and could do with some advice.
I'm making what is designed to be a bit of a silly character. A Pixie Paladin of the Raven Queen. A Pixie who grew up in some sickeningly sweet Fern Gully-style forest and ran off to be a rebel and be a force for darkness. The Raven Queen is a creepy death goddess who shops at Hot Topic, seems perfect for offending the other pixies.
But yeah: How well would a Pixie Paladin actually work out? I was looking at going for the Soul Reaper Paragon Path (Dragon 380) as the GM is letting me swap Radiant for Necrotic in Paladin powers due to the goddess choice.
Any advice on making a Cha-focused Paladin?
I was looking at 10 Str, 14(+2) Dex, 14 Con, 8 Int, 13 Wis, 16(+2) Cha (Though I can easily change it up)
I know fuck all about 4e, but the idea of an adorably edgy pixie paladin is worth a bump.
>>45027875
It works really fucking well. You can especially abuse that as a pixy you can hide in allies squares so your opponent has to trigger your challenge for extra damage.
Just take CHA powers and you are basically set. I can't think of any difficulty in building a CHA paladin. Could minmax a bit and hybridize with fighter.
>>45028577
The way I described it to a friend was 'About as evil as the average care bears villain'.
She's not a clever sort but where she came from was diabetes inducing so she's doing her best.
>>45028580
Cool. I was looking into multiclassing Rogue because Pixies get a 'CA on a charge' feat.
Any thoughts on the Soul Reaper paragon path? Or should I go for something else?

So for damage
3D5 +/- D5s
4D5 * A damage multiplier
or Base 10 * A damage multiplier
I'm kind of leaning towards the third option as it's going to be the fastest and about the easiest to balance for, critical strikes would do double damage naturally.
>>45005546
Who in their right mind has D5s for this system?
>>45005546
d5's are a good way of insuring that nobody is going to want to play your game.
DRAGON BALL PARALLEL QUEST
>Welcome to Dragon Ball Parallel Quest!
>Something went very wrong at some point in Dragon Ball's recent past. You were probably supposed to stop it – but you didn’t. You awaken in strange surroundings, and quickly find yourself fighting for your life…
>Stats (Power, Agility, Stamina, Intellect, Charisma, Ki) and dice (mostly d10+modifier) will be used.
>Pay no attention to the d% rolls. They're probably not important.

The only thing you can clearly remember is a whole lot of pain. Then absolutely nothing, just a somehow terrifying sleep for you can’t even guess how long. You see flashes – a man with lavender hair, an old woman that looks like a little girl, two blue-skinned, red-clad humanoids, a swirling red-black portal, falling forever…then a very painful landing, your head connecting solidly with a rock.
You were supposed to do something. Something important. But it didn’t work. You can’t remember, though. You can barely even remember yourself…
Okay, focus. Your fretful sleep is ending, and you have a funny feeling you’ll need to get moving fast…
>A. “My head hurts…” [Earthling, +1 to two different stats of your choice]
>B. “So…hungry…” [Saiyan, +1 Power, +1 Ki]
>C. “Why do I even have pain receptors…” [Android, +1 Power, +1 Intellect]
>D. “I sense something evil coming…” [Shinjin, +1 Agility, +1 Charisma]
>E. “There’s some ringing in my ears…” [Namekian, +1 Stamina, +1 Intellect]
>F. “My tail is killing me…” [Arcosian, +1 Agility, +1 Charisma]
>G. “Have to pull myself together…” [Majin, +1 Stamina, +1 Ki]
>H. “I can’t remember a damn thing…” [Roll 1d7 to determine race randomly]
Let's rock!

It's called random chance. The same random change that means the -2 isn't always going to deal 16 damage.
Has anybody played it? I'm tempted to raise it to my group because of its interesting mechanics with conditions and Ripples, as well as the unique world it encourages, unlike most other fantasy RPGs
I play a lot of LotW, it's my favourite RPG system so far due to its really interesting mechanics and awesome combat system. I'm in a few different games of it, as well as running some, in a variety of styles and settings, and it works great. There are a few mechanical niggles that could do with tweaking, but on the whole it works great. If you're looking for more content for the game, look up the Wulin Legends wiki.
However, there is a major downside to LotW. If you're presenting it to your group, be prepared to have to explain it without much help from the book. If you've read it you're probably already aware, but goddamn the editing is bad. A few important mechanics aren't even directly stated, only implied while being mentioned tangential to something else. It's a mess, which is a real shame for such an excellent game, but if you can get past it it's sublime.

This time we talk about how you feel martial versus spellcaster balance is. Do you think its good? Do martials need help? Did concentration save D&D balance?
>>45064326
Does it not?
>>45055095
>>45055138
true? false? I talked to my buddy about it and he says we should run a game soon using playtest rules
Heres another call out into the void: does anyone want to start a chat group, or be in a group that plays by playtest? Only interested in playing in the bay areaCaliforniabut I'm interested in discussing it with any anons
I PERSONALLY feel as if the playtest rules made class abiltiies and player options at the forefront of what your gaming experience is, and by comparison the 5e published rules kind of push that all into the background, with attacking, spellcasting, and movement made the normal actions, and class abilities became something you do every once in a while.
If not running things by the last playtest packet, I think theres a way to balance it such that you bring ability and agency back to the foreground without creating "rocket tag".
Let me know. Even jab, shift, tumble, etc. could be good martial die abilities.also the conan RPG has some really good options to use in combat.
If theres interest I'll start a group, if not I'll just start one in the bay and no one online will hear about it.
>>45064365
It does not.
I put this in here because a) I"ve made the past few 5egs, and b) an anon said he didn't want his DM to know that qurterstaffs dont have the reach property

Do they share the same culture? If so, swimmingly, but expect it to be very segregated due to the demands of varying body plans, with some open forums for everyone to meet at. For example you can expect not all buildings would accommodate massive citizens.
Do they all have different cultures? It'll never work. It doesn't even work IRL, much less with actual biology in the way.
You'd need some kind of pretty hefty economic reasons to have say, a flying race, an amphibious race, and a land race all live peaceably in the same area without some kind of shared ideals.
>>45064257
>What the fuck is that stupid movie about anyway
Inspiring new furry porn?
This is sort of a silly problem, but it's one I'm stuck on. One of my players has decided to romance one of the NPCs in my campaign. At first I figured he was just messing around, but now he and one of the other players seem to think the person I've written and the person he's written would make a cute couple. I'm not really sure how to approach this. Nobody seems opposed to the idea either. I really don't want to kill her off or something, because that seems cheap. Should I just let him do it? Is it okay to just ask him to stop?
Pic related, it's the art I used for her
>>45062876
Why are you afraid of love, OP?
>>45062939
I'm not, I just get uncomfortable when he's spending his downtime in town writing her letters and sending gifts with couriers, because he's really into it, and everyone is encouraging him because they think it's either funny or sweet
>>45062876
Give her a boyfriend. Have her go "You're really nice, but my lover is Sir Chad. He's a great guy: I'm crazy about him. You should chat sometime."
How do Eldar compare mentally/physically with humans? I know they are a bit taller, but how strong are they compared to humans? How tough are they? Are they all math savants?
Also, if you say they move faster than light, please an hero.

I imagine the comparisons are similar to those of a human and an elf in your average Generic Fantasy Setting(TM)
faster
not noticeably stronger

>>45061615
If you mean the ones by S.D. Perry, then I think so.
Reminder that shipgirls are real.
You will never defeat a Dark Eldar in battle take her and make her your bitch. Braking her will so she will rejoice when she accepts the human D.
>>45060683
Good. I'd prefer to break a regular Eldar, especially if it's this piece of pure beauty right here.
Dark Eldar get to do the breaking.
>>45060683
I don''t think you really understand Dark Eldar. And get a new picture.
>>45060683
Good, I wouldn't want to because I'm not a fucking race traitor nor a heretic.
What's the point of the good alignments or overall ever doing what you find ethnically right if in the end human nature will always take a big shit allover your efforts? What motivates a good guy at all?
Just because you can't make a difference for all doesn't mean you shouldn't make a difference for those you can.
It's saving that family from Orks that makes a difference, not the 4 other families they killed before you got there.
>>45060628
Because human nature doesn't always win.
Back at the dawn of our species, there were only a couple dozen lives that were considered "sacred". You didn't kill those in your family, you didn't kill those in your tribe, everyone else was free game.
Move forward a few centuries and it gets better. Now a couple hundred lives are considered sacred. You don't kill members of your state, you don't kill members of your country.
Move forward even more, to modern day, and society considers almost all human lives to be sacred, and you have permission to kill no-one.
So no, human nature doesn't always win in the end. We can be more, we can be better, and we are accomplishing both as a species.

>Last time, on Digimang Quest.
The gang decided to head out from Coded Village, heading towards Tube City, after a final night’s rest.
Elecmon and dash agreed that Dash should do his best to stay out of harm’s way, Dash once again tried to Descartes a witch, before turning down an offer after receiving a special fruit.
That done, Dash bonded with some of the younger digimon in his group, learning about Demidevimon and Gotsumon’s past, before trying to digivolve past Champion level.
It didn’t go well.
Leomon’s attempt to digivolve went haywire, transforming him into an enormous, mad beast, attempting to kill Dash, only stopped by some smart thinking and deftness of hand. In drastic condition after such a transformation, Dash nursed his partner back to health, to the best of his ability, apologising with guilt for pushing Leomon so far, only for his partner to hold no ill will.
Finally leaving, the group travelled for hours through the desert, only to be accosted, the moment they pull over by a riverside, ambushed, Dash and Eva had to deal with a giant squid, before Eva was swallowed whole!
Now, on with the adventure!
The squid straightens, gulping dramatically, smacking its lips and letting out a laugh. “Tastes like chicken!” He slurs, his new lips disturbingly human looking, fangs jutting out from over it.
Devimon shrieks, pulling up short of the squid monster, her arms flashing red, as twin trails of energy flash towards the squid, met with returning fire of high pressure ink, exploding in the air.
You can feel anger burning in your gut, combined with panic. Eva’s in it’s gut, and odds are, she’s not gonna last long in there. Floating in the river where he dropped you, just by it’s mouth, you have a few choices, you could dive, try and use your fire hands to work it’s stomach and make it throw up… you could go for the surface, and meet up with the others, or you could grab onto one of it’s tentacles, before it takes a swing at Devimon.
>Go for the stomach, see if you can get her out
>Go for the shore
>Go for the tentacle, try and slow it down

You know that feeling where time supposedly passes quickly when you’re having fun? The kind that happens when you’re either playing video games or surfing the internet?
Apparently, your taste in fun seems to have been somewhat distorted. Because four more weeks of hellish training just go by like that. Snap, zip, whatever. It only seemed like a few days ago when the facility was attacked by demons, and Commander Sparda’s words left your teeth on edge. Human perception is funny like that.
But at any rate, it seems that your training is being cut short. Last night, Alger said something about the bigwigs in D.C. wanting more manpower on the streets due to the annual rise in demonic incursions. There’s just something about the seasons of summer and winter that apparently brought out the crazy in demons. All of the Divisions across the country were deploying teams throughout the states.
Since you’ve actually experienced a full-on demon raid, Alger was willing to let you go into the field a little early than he was hoping for. Regardless, a total of six weeks in Camp Cocytus completely molded the five of your group from inexperienced rookies into somewhat hardened Devil Summoners.
>Your level has increased to 15!
>You may now fuse and recruit demons up to your current level!
You know this more than anyone else. After all, it’s only been four more weeks, but you can definitely feel that you’ve become more…

I'm currently working on a Werewolf cheat sheet for my players, and I've gotta make a Vampire one as well. Mostly just the little things, like "what does this template give you". Anyone care to point out some easy to miss things that the Supers can do? Any super, not just the two I'm running.
Someone else can make cheat sheets for the other supes.

There are only two types of mages in the CofD: very dead mages and obsessive, paranoid, and ridiculously prepared mages.
If a mage doesn't soon realize wizarding is extremely dangerous and entirely unpredictable, they'll not likely live long to enjoy their reality-bending abilities.
