Surgery and lifting. Do whatever you can to make yourself as attractive as possible. At this point I don't think is anything wrong with vanity because people will never stop judging you by the way you look. Hell, I think ugly people judge each other even harder! How do you find close friends?
All I want is to be considered apart of a really close trio and maybe have a dude that would make me his best man for a wedding and vice versa.
I have tons of small friends and a gf, but no one I can always count on to hang out with and that wont view other people as their main group.

Is it only possible for men to aim downwards when looking for women? Since no woman would like a man who is doing equally or worse than her, they only want men who are more succesfull alltogether than they are.

Women don't date down, that is up for the men to decide.
So basically all the good girls get taken by Chad, then the semi-attractive ones get taken by Chad sometimes, with the subset of them waiting for Chad to ask them out which isn't going to happen unless Chad wants to pump and dump them. So those semi-attractive girls who get used by Chad as a pump and dump are some of the time unavailable the semi-Chad population because they are holding out for Chad.
This leaves us average men (not even semi-Chad) with far fewer options that are on our level, as a large portion of the girls on our dating level are trying to date up and find their Chad, and some have succeeded, and others have found a beta male provider and then lust for Chad secretly and maybe cheat on their beta male provider.
So basically the only group of women left for us average and down to beta male providers are usually the girls at the bottom of the barrel who have literally no self-esteem and have admitted to themselves that no Chad is ever going to want them, so they go for the next best thing, which is a semi-Chad beta male provider. So in 9 cases out of 10, it is the man who is lowering his standards to find a partner, while even semi-attractive female partners have no problem with ever being alone, only just that Chad doesn't want to commit to anything long-term with them.
Moral of the story, the robot/beta male and semi-Chad portion of the male population pretty much has to fight over the decent scraps that Chad has rejected, and most of those are already taken by a certain point, so then it turns to fighting over the attractive single mothers and ugly duckling girls who have big hearts and know Chad wants nothing to do with them.
All in all, the point is, unless you are Chad, or a semi-Chad, the only logical thing for you to do is either date down (see fat/ugly chick, if you're lucky Chad's scraps), or to opt out of dating completely.
