Whether things in my life are good or bad, I find the idea of God existing as religion describes him to be absurd. Either he is a piece of shit or he isn't real, at least not as he's described (e.g. loving, kind, etc.). Sometimes things in my life are so well I want to give thanks, but that would undermine the suffering of others, especially those born to extreme suffering. Think the countless who die daily, from starvation, war. Think rape. think abuse. If you can't empathize, use your own experiences.
