What's the secret to making the perfect steak?

Not serving it undercooked
I reverse seared one the other day, it was great.
I picked up a nice ribeye from whole foods, about 1.5 inches thick (pricey).
put a wire rack on top of a cookie sheet
salt/pepper on steak
275F oven for about 45 minutes
I used a thermometer and pulled the steak out when it was 125F inside
while letting the steak rest, I got my cast iron SCREAMING hot
no oil
open a window because I don't have a real, functional vent hood
about 1 minute on each side and the edges
no bullseye cooking like in OPs image, just midrare throughout. best...

USA, Texas, family run tex mex joints.

Here come the flyovers
>>7340533
I welcome the flyovers desu. They gotta eat too.
Pictured on the right is from a blade grinder. 18g. one push.
Pictured on the left is from the SAME blade grinder. 18g. manually pulsed.
Blade grinders are cheap and quick, but very uneven. They can be effective if you know how to use them.

*or you can buy a burr grinder
>>7339655
Thank you. This is what I'm always saying in coffee threads. Blade grinders are not ideal, but they can make passable grounds if you do it right. There is no excuse for buying pre-ground coffee other than extreme laziness. Everyone can can afford a blade grinder. Freshly ground beans is the biggest jump in cup quality of all the brewing variables.

Go back. You know where.
I've never eaten steak. I want to try it because I hear it's delicious.
What's the best cut and the best way to cook it? Share your opinions.

Im making Dinner for a couple of friends tonight
We're all in College and stoners so it doesn't have to be impressive, Im sure I could give them mustard on bread and it'd be a good night.
I want to do something with Chicken, Potatoes, and Carrots but don't feel like doing another boring "Throw all 3 things into Baking Pan, season, and cook in oven for an hour"
I was thinking of making my own Potatoe Wedges and maybe a nice fried breaded chicken, but what other d@nk fuds can I cook?
Im pretty stocked on cooking essentials...

A whole roast chicken with mash and roast carrots would be great and requires very little active cooking time. Rub some butter and herbs under the skin, oil and salt the outside, pitch it into the oven.
If you wanted to go a little fancier, pan- roast skin on children ken with a pan sauce is easy as fuck. Sear chicken in very hot skillet, put whole thing into oven to finish. Remove chicken to a board to rest, reglaze pan with some flavorful liquid (white wine, cider, stock, whatever) and flavor however you like....

How many of you have tried this? I don't normally think of "decadent" and "yogurt" as being used in the same sentence, but yet here we are. I'm so glad Greek yogurt caught on in America.

Is honey a meme? Does utilizing it over sugar boast any benefit whatsoever in my shitty tea or am I just as well off reaching for the white garbage?
I think the largest benefit of honey over sugar is that it tastes much better.
It tastes different. It's not healthier though.
Raw honey is good for illnesses, I fought a bad throat infection using raw honey and chili powder instead of antibiotics.
