Personally I adore lonely time. I love to workout, read, camp, hike, canoe. I fucking love my hobbies and they keep me sane. You may be more of an extrovert, but I would find an activity that is solely "for you". As in it betters you and makes tou happy.

Why do women I've been with previously claim they want to be friends but then if I don't chat with them for a while they block me on social media?
I never did anything to offend. Just didn't respond for a long time. Why do they always do this?
I know they block me because all I have to do is log out to be able to search their names again and then I see everything since their profiles are usually public.

She's getting older (mid/late 50's), is divorced, and last time I met her (I don't live with her) she was crying. She's tired of the world and other people grinding her down, and tired of being lonely.

You should look into Existentialism, I have similar thoughts to you and found it very interesting.
Personally I think a lot of stuff is fake. Especially things like fashion & peoples opinions about what you should do with your life.
But to me at least basic needs right now, such as food, water, air, shelter etc. seem very real. Like if you get sick, or dehydrated, or without air for awhile you just can't THINK anymore. How can something that is fake affect your mind so much?

I'm really struggling to meet and interact with new people. Whenever I'm around people I don't know I just feel like the whole room is judging me and deem me as not good enough for them. It'll cause me to go all quiet and be just completely unable to converse or interact with them. I can't approach/say hi to new people for similar reasons. The only time I feel comfortable around people I've just met is if when it's very very clear they have some form of interest in me.
This is just making it impossible for me to enjoy life. It's causing me to live in a rut because I'm too scared to put myself out there. I've gotten lots of advice on this, "be more confident", "just charge in head first and don't think", "If you screw up you'll never see them again", but no matter how hard I try to apply the advice into my life I can't help but become consumed by my fear and anxieties.
I'm honestly getting to the point where I feel straight up hopelessness. I want to change, but I can't seem to pull off whatever fucking mental gymnastics I need to do in order to do so.

In case you didn't know, this is considered pathological (SAD/AvPD).
Psychiatrists and therapists help with it (it's a big part of their job, this is a common problem due to human evolutionary background and social dynamics).
