Whenever we talk about aliens interacting with humans it's always about how powerful we are, and how they'd love human sex, but what about those awkward moments?
Like say a human diplomat is thought to be a sexual deviant because blinking is an offer to mate to them, and by the goddess he just won't stop "offering to mate" with EVERYONE. Male, female, helzian, even to the young!

How about aliens instinctively view long-haired men and most women to be above the others because that kind of style is what separates their royalty from the peasants, and even after being told it's not like that for humans they still instinctively show them much more respect than short-haired ones, which most of the species would view as equals?

Reading the DMG Errata and it restates that like effects on a creature don't stack but just take the higher value -
Would a Paladin with [Divine Favor] cast use [Divine Smite] and roll the 1d4 Radiant Damage for DF plus the #d8 Radiant Damage for DS or just the #d8? Or does this rule just mean that you can't stack similar DoT on something?

I think it pertains to multiples of the same effect. For example, if two casters cast Haste on the same target, it would only take effect one. Though adding a die of radiant damage is similar, they come from separate sources, and thus both apply.
So I feel like my pc that is in the group right now doesn't have a reason to be in the group anymore and I had an idea for a new character but he wouldn't fit into the campaign at this point too. What should I do about this? Just reroll a new character to play for a while until other people want to do a new campaign?

When you plan for the long game – and you have been planning for just that for most of four centuries – it is inevitable that things will go awry. It is simply impossible to plan for everything and you tried very hard to take that into account. But this was just....ridiculous.
You have the resources and power of the second largest group of spirit-children in Japan, one of the most effective Yakuza clans, and ties in enough places and with enough powerful people that you should be capable of coping with almost any contingency that could have risen up before you. Yet this....this child, this teenage rebel has thrown more wrenches into your finely tuned machinations in weeks than any number of mischievous youkai have managed in centuries of willful fuckery. If she had been a child of Susano-Oh, or maybe kitsune born....but that would have been impossible. No, she had to be the daughter of Ryujin Owatatsumi. It was inevitable, you supposed.
It was difficult to keep her coming of age suppressed long enough so that she would take her dragon-nature as her primary nature, rather than the early onset of her demigoddess nature as the primary one. The potions in her food, the wards in her living quarters, the artful handling of her training, it was a grand and unified effort that allowed her to grow without being overly restrained. When her dragon-nature had finally broken through, you were certain that things were going well.

The propensity for the Kaga heirs to produce daughters was well documented, and with as much Jing as the girl had, the Hojo heiress would produce several sons in succession without problems just by being near her.

I had to cancel my game today because I was sick.

I'm joining a game with a bunch of random runners (if we want to know each other that's up to us, but it seems like we're just hired) and I'm not all that familiar with the system (I've almost played a few times and sort of run half of Best Razorgirl badly). I want to be some slutty punk razorgril with a robot arm and a (stun?) katana. Problem is, this is a street level game and that's bad for business when you're a street samurai.

Friendly reminder that you don't have to work so damn hard on your setting. You don't need to study geology or simulate plate tectonics or anything. Just play it fast and loose man. Put cool stuff in there just because you can. Because you totally can. It's your own happy little world, make it yours, and don't stress about the realism too much. It's a game of pretend, don't sweat it.

I treat my setting like a map from an RTS game. It's all covered in fog of war, with major points or locations revealed. Wherever the players go, I reveal that little section. They ask a question about some piece of lore or history, I fill that piece in.
I'm not going to put in 100's of hours of work just so I can make shit up on the spot when my players don't go where I expect, and I'm also not going to force them to see my 100's of hours of work.

What do you do when the characters want to move to the next city over, "Right now"? How would you try to make the next quickly visited city different from the last one? I have players that love to travel, but when they decide to go somewhere else, I feel forced to pause the session until I'm able to gather my wits as I'm already pulling things out of my ass enough as it is.

As a game of language, roleplaying depends on induction of meaning and context through literary and cinematic genre. A cooperative ad hoc creation that is never edited but always improvised can not conform to just one ideal but exists in the intersubjective tension between the players who themselves introduce a complex bundle of expectation and creation each. Is not all its ambition to literary meaning merely superficial decoration for an arbitrary and abstract game of chance? Is not maybe the revelation of this failure through conflicting character action that culminates in a breakdown of inner logic which then gets patched with out-of-genre solutions the real challenge of roleplaying?
I don't believe that this just denotes the line between role players and roll players. Even roll players have strong expectations...
