You scoop some of the rather gooey blood off your arm, doing your best to make some space in the pod you've found yourself in.

Man, this thing really is ancient, your pod wasn't exactly up to date, but by comparison, it makes this thing look like a technological wonder...

You're also still having trouble looking at the planet below, you can see it's there... but your brain's having trouble processing it for a few moments.

Planet Vegeta, hanging in the sky once more. You'd recognise it anywhere, after decades of nightmares.

And apparently, some Arcosian is coming here to mess with it. Again. Or for the first time, technically, given the whole time travel thing.

The speaker on your pod crackles to life, "Yo, Pinappule, you okay? You kinda went quiet for a second there."

Glancing back out the window, you can see one pod surging ahead of yours, just as the ships drop into the upper atmosphere, the familiar suck of your homeworlds gravity drawing you home.

From this high up, you could blast straight through the pod window, take that guy out right now.

>Take him out, before he does anything stupid
>Stay silent, wait til you land, you might need the pod

A lot of people here dislike monster girls because they often derail threads into lewd stuff and memes about horse genitals, so let's take things into a new direction and have a serious discussion about monster girls in regards to world building. This time we'll be talking about harpies.

>Eating humans, yes or no?
>Level of organization: Solitary? Tribal? Urbanized?
>What would a harpy village or city look like?
>Their relation to human settlements?
>What birdlike traits would be interesting to have in harpies? Would harpy men have impregnate human women behind their husbands backs?

>>
If you wanna avoid the fetish label, you may want to avoid using the term "monster girl", because that is specifically fetish terminology, lewd or not.

That said, I'm all for open discussion.

>Eating humans, yes or no?
Depends on a bunch of factors; size, organization, tech level. You're probably gonna want your harpies smaller, up to human size, which means they'll have much lower body mass, meaning they're limited to baby snatching unless they're otherwise prepared.
You could pattern your birdbrains on any number of social birds that are omnivorous. I like the idea of an evolved/magicked culture of corvid-harpies, myself.

>Level of organization: Solitary? Tribal? Urbanized?
Gonna go back to the corvids again, the social ones show quite a bit of social structure and build communal nests and such. Lend themselves well to tribal through urbanized societies. Birds of prey-patterned harpies would make more sense as solitary creatures.

>What would a harpy village or city look like?
The fun thing about flying humanoids is that you can have them living in places we don't think of as buildable; sheer cliffs, high canopies, cave ceilings, underside of floating islands (with their farms on top, maybe).
And when designing their homes, you can think in 3D, build it like a space station. No idea how actual crow nests are constructed, to be fair.

>Their relation to human settlements?
Smarter handless harpies would be trading for stuff that's hard to make without opposable thumbs. Your average human would probably try to hunt or enslave them though, could cause problems.

>What birdlike traits would be interesting to have in harpies?
How about a nomad society, migrating with the seasons? Not that nomads are unusual for humans, but moving several climate zones away is extreme for us.

The Story so far >>45336381

So /tg/, who is best girl and why is it Brian?

>When we last left our heroes, they finally made it to the secret lab where most of the research on the virus was made, only to come up empty handed as the place was stripped clean of any relevant information. What they did come across, however, was a woman named Christine who claims to be part of a group calling themselves the Saviours of Humanity, and have been trying to find research into making a cure for the virus. And they need the groups help.

"What do you mean, you need our help?" you ask.

"Exactly what I said," Christine clarified, "we need all the help we can get to begin with, and if we can get Mr. Romero to co-operate..."

You look over to your now-former boss, who just shrugs his shoulders. "I'm not in charge here, as you can see," he answers, "I'm just along for the ride."

"Well, if you really interested in helping, then all of you will come with me to The Fort. But before we do... I don't want to withhold any information. If you have any questions about who were are, ask now, and I'll do my best to answer."

eg. 'Character art thread'.

What you looking for in particular? fantasy environments? monsters?

Jewel and Cherry were nice enough to help you clean the house up before going to convey the invitation to Her Grace. Amy's still getting used to actually having wings again, which has resulting in more than one case of you and Nathan getting clocked in the tight quarters, but you get a meal going and coffee and tea both ready for when your guest is to arrive.

Fetch is on the lookout for her, and he announces her arrival in Lakehallow into your mind in formal tones.

You take a deep breath and await the polite knock on your door. You're not waiting long; it's just as prim and courteous as you could have hoped for.

> "Your Grace. Be welcome as a guest to my home."
> "It's nice to meet you, your Grace. Tea or coffee?"

I'm mad, /tg/.

How did the idea surface that a natural 20 means you ALWAYS succeed, no matter what ludicrous bullshit you're doing, and that a natural 1 means you spectacularly fuck up the most menial of tasks?

I was DMing a campaign earlier and a player tried to argue that his 20 on a Diplomacy check would allow him to convince the group of Sahuagin to change their minds about attacking the party. They didn't even share a language.

>>
What weird system are you playing that says a natural 20 always succeeds regardless of anything? I've never played a system that worked this way. My DMs have always had situations where even a nat 20 isn't enough sometimes.
>>
>>45353144

That's the thing. The system doesn't say that, it's just what players seem to believe.

Do you have some kind of allergy to writing or do you only write in colon lists of contacts and family?

You can't write 15 sentences about your character's background? I can understand noping out at a 2 page requirement but unless you're playing a by-the-numbers murderhobo 2 paragraphs is a fine minimum.
>>
>>45351683
Honestly, a level 1 character shouldn't have a lot of backstory.

And the more backstory, the more it seems like it should read as a higher level character (usually).

So him wanting to write the bare minimum makes sense in some regards, minus the exceptional part of having class levels.

Down a Saurus and having the disadvantage in Guard against a team that has just barely less S4 players means the Quickslithers are going to have to rely on their skinks more for once.

Past certain basics about knowing the rules and not being a flake, it becomes subjective so there's no way to determine it.

I mean, for half of /tg/ their ideal DM would be the worst kind of pandering doormat who enables all their That Guy bullshit while blocking the other players' attempts to deal with it.
