You've been through a lot.
Not just recently, over the past weeks say, but all your life. Even from as early as you can remember, you were haunted by nightmares, memories from the end of a life you once lived. They were always a part of your life, a constant companion, until you were able to learn their true source – and by that point, you had other things to worry about. Combat and strife, horror and indecision, all those and more have haunted your steps ever since you first entered this inhuman world.
And now, perhaps, you will have the chance to move beyond it all, to reach some higher state as one of the three gods of these worlds. It's a position you've earned, but not one you can bring yourself to quite comprehend. But then, as you look around this white void at the other two girls that might become your partners in godhood, perhaps it's time to get used to the idea.
Either get used to it now, or get thrown into the deep end – but when have you ever had the chance to take things slowly?

“Mia,” Amelia says, her voice finally rising above a strained rasp. She rubs her eyes, pushes strings of lank hair away from her face and finally drops her gaze to the egg – the gathered forms of the divine fragments – you hold in your hands. “I'm... what you've been through, what you've both been through...”
“This is not the time for complaints, yes?” Petra declares, lurching over and putting a protective hand on your shoulder. Her face is crusted with dried blood, her nose twisted cruelly to the side by some unknown injury. Was Nyarlathotep fighting her as well, in whatever closed off space she had been banished to, or was there some other cause for her wounds?
“I know you've got a lot of questions,” Amelia begins carefully, a far cry from that mocking imitation that Nyarlathotep had cloaked himself in, “And I'll answer them as best I can, no matter how long it takes. What we're about to do is a serious matter – the most serious, in fact – and you can't walk into it with your eyes shut. If you have any doubts, either of you, this is the time to get them out in the open.”
Questions... Well, you can't deny that your mind is whirling with them right now, but you hold your silence and nod for Amelia to continue.
“And if either of you wants to walk away,” Amelia smiles, taking your silence as encouragement, “I won't blame you, or hold it against you. On the other hand, Mia, you're the one holding the divine power...” her smile turns rueful here, tempered with a note of vague humour, “So if you're going to tell me to go to hell, there's not much I can do about it.”
Very... honest. Swallowing hard, you prepare yourself to speak.

What is our goal, at the end of it? Protect Humanity? Peace? Progress? At the end of it, I'm not very sure WHAT I was fighting for.
Got bored /tg/, lets roll us a chapter of the Emperors finest and see how it goes eh?
somebody roll a d10 for why we were founded
Rolled 4 (1d10)
>>45375594
>>45375708
Strategic prognostication, Founded on the whims of prophecy, always a good start!
d100 for when we were founded
Rolled 61 (1d100)
>>45375719
What is the best /tg/ movie?and why is it Blade Runner?
>>45375587
blade runner was awesome, now if only it had anything to do with the book it would be easily in my top 5. Och and thats not how you spell Stalker
>>45375962
Blade Runner NOT having anything to do with the book was one of the best moves it could possibly have made.
So, I got around to reading Moorcock finally and I was impressed by his cosmology.
Why have Warhammers screwed up the whole image of Chaos so much? Couldn't they just CnP it?
Are there any other setting with similar Chaos? Is Aragorn an incarnation of Champion Eternal?
>>45375496
>Why have Warhammers screwed up the whole image of Chaos so much?
You mean Chaos role in cosmology?
>>45375706
all of it.
Moorcock's Chaos is like really CHAOS.
Warhammers' Chaos ends up an extradimensional mordor, nothing more, with gods being pesky petty superhumans (figuratively).
>>45375726
Well yeah, I think their main problem was stagnation which didn't allow them to show Chaos vs. Chaos plot, also, I think they tryed to make it more close to Moorcock's Chaos when made Malal who hates not only Order, but Chaos Gods, like spirits of true Chaos from Elric series who hates even Chaos Lords because thought that they are too lawful for Chaos.
Bbut by the way, fiction always will be higher than games.
How do you display air elementals? If you have them kick up a swirl of dust, they're encroaching on Earth's domain. If they're visible as shimmering air, they're stealing Fire's light.
How do you see an invisible pocket of air, /tg/?
>>45375127
You don't, thats their strength. You can only see the effect they have on things around them, but they themselves are invisible. Also make them hot or cold or something.
>>45375127
You smell them.
>>45375127
Doesn't that one about Fire apply to all elementals? I mean, if you're going to say that light is under Fire's domain, then anything visible is Fire.

Seems like they still have some optimisation to do, I think I saw quite a drop of FPS when a ship exploded, but other than that, I like what I see.
>>45374758

>>45374758
Fuck me that's gorgeous.

My hype boner is so f*cking large right now
ITT: Moments that cause your character to say "I immediately regret this decision."
Every time you fail any kind of charm/mind-altering spell and the would-be target is now staring you down extremely pissed.
My character (who lived in a swamp for his whole life up to this point) saw a river, jumped in to swim across, and was promptly swept away. Though it worked out well enough for him, he's a coward and got to avoid the ensuing fight.

I wish I could filter images so I could stop seeing this ugly fucking fanart in every thread. I like UT but Christ am I sick of this picture
DMs/GMs of /tg/
What are some of your favorite/most interesting NPCs that you've used with players?
What were some of THEIR favorites that you introduced to them?
NPC thread
>>45372080
I had a dog. He wasn't magic, he was just a dog who did dog things, like marking and barking when strangers approached. The players loved him for his utility, and he was pretty good at avoiding real danger when they had to fight. They ended up studding him out and making puppies for each of them to keep after the campaign ended
>>45372155
Heartwarming.
My setting has a near extinct race of bird men, and one of the players is dead set on encountering them. I'm thinking about having him find an egg that's almost ready to hatch, and end up getting a young one to raise (they mature quickly compared to humans, and he's an elf at that).
>>45372250
Could be good as long as it doesn't become a burden. They'll probably give it to an orphanage though
Can a character's backstory not be ZOMG TRAGEDY for them to be a compelling character?
I feel kind of insecure because I recently joined an Into the Abyss 5E campaign, and decided to play as a dwarf who was a shopkeeper and accidentally fell into a hole, aaaand that's it. I'm the only person who doesn't seem to have some dark secret or tragic history, and I feel like that might be a problem.
>>45371825
It's not. People do things for all sorts of reasons, all that matters is you have a reason to move forward
>>45371825
Is your character interesting though?
>>45371825
Let me guess, the DM is going to bullshit up that some faggot sacrificed your daughter and used her death to fuel some faggot spell to open a faggot hole that your dwarf fell into.
I had a character who was trying to earn money to open up orphanages for no real reason other than kindness.
So the DM decided to throw child soldiers at my character. Like, man, the fuck? You know I'm going to kill them and it won't change my alignment or whatever the fuck you're trying to do.
Sometimes DMs confuse me with their need to make things arbitrarily dark.
Now that we have a Shadowrun movie met with rousing success, what system do you think will hit the big screen next?

Weapon X is a cybertech underground paramilitary agency.
A space marine legion appears on the door step of mars demanding to gain access to the Librarius Omnis to reclaim it for the imperium of man.
What would mars do?
Fucking wreck their shit, of course.
Even if this Legion were one of the bigger ones, on its own it'd be no match for the millions of Skitarii that would undoubtedly be guarding Mars, whole Titan Legions, and all the Space Marine chapters or Guard regiments that would be willing to join in the fight - and lets not forget that Mars produces the absolute best stuff, so they would not be fucking about.
Worst case scenario, they could just open the vaults and see how this random space marine legion enjoys having thousands of crazed machines up in its business.

>>45370926
The format wont be balanced again until they ban eye.
i just want to play this deck forever
>>45370926
I'm particularly glad that modern is now literally the colorless, flavorless, soulless format it has always been deep down. Maybe this is for the best.

You know what, fuck it. I'd like some feedback on two perks:-Countdown to Chaos (200CP) (50% off: Aesirite): Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. Time is a terrible thing, the bane to any who seek eternity. It is a gift and a curse to be aware of the time, at times. If you purchase this perk and focus on someone, you can gain an idea of how long they have left to live before perishing... and how long an item will take to naturally decay away. Just be wary of letting people know... not everyone handles the inevitability of the shadows of Chaos looming over them too well.-Revisionism (600CP) (50% off: Aesirite): The energy of chaos and creation course through you, and it is unlike you to forget this nature, this duality that continues in an endless cycle. After all, chaos is harnessed for creation, but eventually all creation must give way and erode into chaos, to be used once more. Why not fiddle with that cycle, then? It takes much out of you, but using your energy you can focus on a shattered item to make it repair itself to a pristine state. Naturally it's harder if it's a magical or esoteric material, and it's MUCH more difficult if you're missing pieces (or even half of it)... but it takes patience to see Creation and Chaos work. Should you not be patient as well?
>>45369479
Excellent.
>>45369470
Personally I don't think you'd really need to make radically different backgrounds for each series. You could just tweak each one to fit it's specific setting.
>>45369562
This one actually looks pretty cool.
>>45369638
I was into Post-Build before it was cool.

Checkmate VIth Legion.
>>45368476
The Fang is second only to the Imperial Palace, good job, you got your fleet blowned up
>>45368607
But that's exactly what happens. I don't mean this Curse of the Wulfen stuff, I mean when Magnus threw a ball and eleven companies of yiffs went to fetch, the Fang was penetrated like a bitch in heat. It seems like a quick counterattack would have been a Mutually-Assured-Destruction scenario.

Character for Curse of Strahd
Artemis Andreste was born in the port city of Luskan, otherwise known as the City of Sails. Coming from a human family of no standing, he spent most his early years living day to day, scrounging for food and doing illicit odd-jobs. Only after meeting a wizard from the Arcane Brotherhood did his luck change. He tricked the wizard into taking him on as an apprentice and moved into the Host Tower of the Arcane.
Under the tutelage of the master wizard, Artemis was given all basic necessities. This wasn't enough for him however and he used his natural guile to pocket and sell what he could from the tower. This went on for a while until Artemis got too cocky and made a mistake. That's when the wizards of the Brotherhood caught on and captured him stealing.
Rather than kill Artemis the wizards decided for a very different form of punishment. They cursed Artemis to walk Toril as an embodiment of his wickedness, effectively turning him into a Tiefling. The wizard then told Artemis that the only way to lift the curse was to preform enough good deeds to make up for the ill will he had caused.
Cursed and banished from Luskan, Artemis turned to Phlan since it was currently being reclaimed and in dire need of adventurers. He figured that was a good place to start doing "good" but once he arrived he was quickly overwhelmed by a strange mist...
Gwynn was a guy
He decided he wanted to be an adventurer
He made a pact with some eldritch being and became one
Elven druid. He used to be a pompous prideful asshole for the first hundred years or so of his life. He ticked off a fey lord who decided to fuck with his vanity and remove his face. It still technically exists, but nobody can see it. Learning his lesson he fucked off to nowhere and ended up joining the postmasters' guild. A worldwide guild of mailmen who take their job very seriously. Now he's all hunched and weird and wears a wooden mask to hide his non-face. Most people are just really weirded out by him and even other druids are kind of off-put by his mannerisms. Despite his eccentric behavior he's actually devilishly clever and brutal and does whatever it takes to accomplish his goals, whether it's grovelling in the dirt, doing heroic deeds, or standing idly by as others are hurt. When he's afforded the opportunity however, he enjoys taking the prideful down a peg, just like he was.
