It's too cold out here, why is it so cold all of a sudden? it wasn't like this before, It's like I'm constantly taking an ice bath with all the windows open. I curl up into a ball, shivering like a little dog as I wrap my arms around myself. And suddenly it starts to get warmer.
I blink and look down, seeing a thick wool blanket draped over me.
"Better?" Lucy asks leaning over me with a kind smile on her face "You looked like you were about to turn into a popsicle, so I thought you could use a blanket"
"Thanks Lucy, I really, really did... when are we going to get to the next town, the outside is being bullshit" I sigh as I try to get comfortable under it, which is pretty hard to do when you have Chitin on you, She reaches down and pats me on the head gently
"I don't know, Sam's been quite ever since you...well whatever happened to you" She sighs as she sits down next to me "Still if it gets too cold, I'm sure he wouldn't mind us taking a stop to get you all nice and toasty again"
I smile, wrapping the blanket around myself as she looks up at the empty blue sky and frowns.
"Sorry if I'm ruining the mood, but maybe we should just avoid the next town" Smiley says, looking over as from the back end of the cart, with her mask off "Because, the last one didn't like her when she was just tainted so it's probably not the best idea to go to one when she's...like this"
"I know" I sigh, leaning against Lucy "but it's not like we can skip a town, if it comes down to that I'll just...wait outside for awhile I guess"
"We're not leaving you out here, Krovy" Lucy says, putting her arm around my neck with a angry look on her face, as her long ears stand straight up "I'd rather camp in the swamp than leave you behind in it"
