What kind of magical punishments would a fantasy kingdom inflict on criminals?
>Instead of prison, criminals can be sentenced to a length of time petrified as a statue.
>Cheating at gambling earns you a curse of misfortune.
>Blasphemy is punished with being forbidden from receiving magical healing, from priests of any god.
>Outlaws convicted of stealing farmers' livestock are polymorphed into replacement animals and forced to work...

Which crime would get punished by being genderbent?
How would robbing the King's tomb unleash his murderer on the city? I don't see the connection.
>>43491840
Public lewdness, probably.
>>43491627
So, what about financial debts that go unpaid? Or kidnappings? Or slander?
>>43491840
Crossdressing in public? Fuck knows.
Thoughts?

Are they meant to correspond to MTG lands?
>>43490968
>>43490968
That's an awful lot of land for dwarves. Though the idea of a huge high fantasy world thats divided up among the races by geography is cool.
Another thread got me thinking and I figure /tg/ has a few but anyone got amusing or clever stories, schemes, or usage out of polymorph or similar magic?
Closest I have is the time our fighter managed to convince the DM and party wizard to polymorph him into an arrow and dismiss it just before he hit a target for extra charge damage
>>43490546
Classic "stupid fighter" syndrome. Clearly, you should dismiss the polymorph AFTER hitting the target, so as to explode them from the inside. Not to mention, that extra damage comes at the cost of taking a ton of damage yourself because you're slamming into the target at arrow-from-a-bow speeds.
>>43491146
You know, technically, turning back into yourself while being into a person's limb would also crush your bones and organs as well as make that person's limb explode, so I don't know if that's worse than de-polimorphing before hitting him.
>>43491401
Nah. Rules clearly state that, when changing size via magic while in an area too small to accommodate you new size, you get a roll to burst the enclosure, and the only thing that happens on a failure is that you only grow as large as the space allows. At worst, you'd get shunted out without harm to either you or the target.

Ok here are the rules

I think I'll start:

>there is an large auditorium, modified to be a parade ground, with a commisar's voice on an endless loop through the speaker systems, as he orders a nonexistent guard regiment through their marching drills.
>There is a large, sealed room filled wit Guardsmen corpses and a bunch of orks. Someone apparently closed all exits so that Work spores wouldn't float out, and they decided the Guardsmen inside weren't worth opening the door. They filled it with gas and it killed all inhabitants, but ork spores remained and managed to grow up. They are now a savage group of cannibals with one slowly eating the others and becoming a warboss-tier ork.
>There is an old mechanicus workshop with many relics from the Dark age of technology. The only problem is that it's flooded in acid
So I've been running this lately and I was wondering what is some of the more broken stuff just so I can avoid the players (probably accidentally) using it. On a similar note just how worth it are the Trait Loises, we haven't really used those much and at initial glance some of them seem really overpowered while others seem utterly underpowered.
Doublecross general too, I guess.
The problem with double cross is it has A LOT of fluff, I kind of ignored Trait Loises as they were OP. Also angel halo is pretty OP is mixed with the shapeshifting one.

Chimaera or Exile?
>>43489063
Exile. It boosts range for skills at already have a lot of range. making your character almost impossible to hit.

Time to wage some WAR(finally)!
Currently you are in command of a standard Combine force based out in some urban terrain. The enemy is common but what their forces are made up of or their location is unknown.
Currently the undead have split of to ambush points while those like the AI have set up a command center/base of operations. The undead have yet to make contact with any foes.
Meanwhile our bread and butter forces are spreading out attempting to locate the enemy. Eventually they DID managed to find them and were even...

or you can SWITCH!
but that just switches to the opposing MC and your still gonna have to give orders.
Yes this means you can play both sides but never at the same time so you have to swap between turns if that.

The AI and SS will hold with us. To make a basic command base and focus on possible cyber warfare.
The undead will form ambush points.
The pred, if made for speed, will be support flankers. If they are hunters they will be used to assassinate/attack from the enemy's rear.
The bead and butter should scout the enemy and report finds. Then pull back to ambush points and hold up in buildings to Support Undead.
Keeping to my old thoughts for the moment.

Weird ancient weapons of the world thread.
Weapon in pic is a macuahuitl, a weapon commonly used by the natives from Mexico, like the Mayans and Aztecs. It's basically a wooden sword with a bunch of Obsidian fragments attached to it's edges, the perfect weapon to fight White Walkers.
Kabutowari, a Japanese short sword, more like a dagger, used to parry strikes or to pierce through gaps in the enemy's armor.
Urumi, an Indian sword whose blade is thin and flexible enough to be used as a really dangerous whip, for both the wielder and the enemy.
Kpinga. south+central african "winged" throwing weapon used similarly to a hunting boomerang. came in a wide variety of styles, which were generally designed with as many different puncturing and slicing surfaces as possible to minimize the chance of your victim escaping injury by getting struck by a relatively harmless part of the weapon.

I'm working on a set of random generators for evocative setting fluff (gods, dungeon descriptions, cities, and NPCs). The general feel I'm going for is mix of Lovecraft's "Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath" and Lieber's "Fafhrd and the Grey Mouser" series. The generators are currently in a spreadsheet (hooray for randomized table-lookup functions!) and don't lend themselves very well to dice rolling unless you happen to have a d47 lying around; if I can get them trimmed down to useable form, do they sound like something /OSRG/ would be interested in?

The Battle for Calth is the first item for a whole new system, with more plastic 30k coming afterwards including brand new rules.
We'll find out early next year if those rules are the same as the mini-game stuff from the box, or something entirely different.

Whats the source on this nigga!
You know, I'm quickly coming to the conclusion that Mortarion is completely fucking broken. You have a 36" range on your guns? Mortarion can get you in two turns. Through impassable terrain. Even Curze and Corax aren't as fast. Enjoy having your vulnerable units gutted.

When you live the flesh it's the beginning of the end.
So I've recently starting reading the Numenera RPG, and I've got some questions:
What's the best sourcebook after the main book?
What are some good descriptor/focus combos?
Why doesn't the GM get to roll any dice?!? I like rolling dice.
Do you use the intrusions mechanic to award XP, or something different?
Is there somewhere to download all the art from the books?
Bueller? Bueller?
>>43481610
>Why doesn't the GM get to roll any dice?!? I like rolling dice
Probably because they don't need to roll dice to be able to storytell.
>>43482302
You don't need to, but I like to.

So we got a good population roll and Accepted Darkness, then the Murder event right off the bat. The murderer became our new boss. Did we resolve it right that everyone just picks whatever disorder and fighting style to give him out of the decks, and that's it?
Also we wiped the floor with our second level 1 lion hunt, should we stay on easy mode for one more to be ready for the Butcher or try out an antelope?
