You are the head researcher at a government facility. Your sole responsibility is to teach the world's first autonomous AI, nicknamed Pandora, about life, the world and her existence.
Previously you finalized your plans for Pandora's canine companion, deciding on a medium-sized furry dog of average intelligence. Afterward you had a chat with the new AI about what was bothering it, discovering that it lacks any real empathy or interests beyond it's immediate needs; to escape what it deemed a "prison" in the shape of a small computer. You decided to grant it's wish, albeit somewhat restricted, and asked the R&D team to create a small body for it to move around in. Afterward you decided to have some more quality with Pandora, more hugs abound.
Welcome back to Pandora Quest!
>Previous threads: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?searchall=pandora+quest
>Twitter: https://twitter.com/AM_in_PM
You sit with Pandora folded up in your arms, quietly reading and doing various puzzles in her book, occasionally praising her for a job well done in solving a particularly difficult one. The small android smiles wide each time, greatly enjoying this quality time with you. While you don't have any children of your own, you imagine this might be what it's like. You hope, anyway. You've heard some horror stories from a few friends with kids.
An hour or so passes and you notice Pandora starting to lose interest, a fact you can't deny, as you've been losing interest for a bit yourself. It's getting a little later in the evening, but nothing too late, especially with Pandora's enhanced battery keeping her up and moving.
What should you do now?

But aren't dwarves a bunch of xenophobic dick bags that hold so closely to tradition that it often borders on societal retardation?

Both are cripplingly bound to racial norms that only exist to make up for piss-poor aesthetic differences.

You are absolutely correct.

That depends on a multitude of factors. Maybe he really is able to walk past them because he has a Kuroko ability.
A gate opens up in Japan, but here is the kicker.
It leads to Warhammer Fantasy long before end times happened.
What happens?
>>43512582
Dwarves are offered free access to a planet full of untapped resources -- one lacking in Skaven and Orcs but full of humans who will happily trade piles of money for a scant amount of riches pulled from the deep.
Its all great, up until the Chaos Gods show up and ruin everything.
Chaos starts to corrupt people on our side due to our lack of knowledge of, or resistance to, magic. While our arms and armaments are vastly more powerful, we desperately need the help of the Old World powers to stop our whole civilization falling to Chaos, handing the Chaos Gods a modern army with which to crush them.
>>43512635
Well for starters Warham Fantasy is a thing.
We can literally ask any neckbeard in their mum's basement on how to resist it.
Or just go on /tg/ and ask.
> What is this?
A year ago, I ran a short arc of this quest on tg, which petered out because my attempts to create a simplified dice-based version of Exalted's Charms for quest-usage overwhelmed me and killed my interest in the story. It was my first quest, and one I'm still fond of —I still get asked about it, and so I'm planning a return. This thread is just something I'm putting up here in order to gauge interest/answer questions/get called a faggot for.

> tl;dr
MC is a serpent-totem Lunar who's spent the past gods-know-how-many-years in a state of feral rage. He's only recently been recalled to sapience by encountering the reincarnation of his long-dead Solar mate: an Abyssal named Ashen-Tome Scholar, who's on the run from something. He resumes his role as her protector as he tries to uncover the mystery of his missing memories and what exactly *happened* between them during the First Age.
Also, he just might be an out-of-control monster, but that's hardly unusual for Lunars.

Why is fantasy so much more common in tabletop games than sci-fi? I can understand why horror is rare, since it's difficult to keep a horror theme going when a group is cracking jokes and such, but sci-fi should be possible.
>>43511796
By what metric? There's almost certainly roughly equal numbers of sci-fi and fantasy rpg's out there. I'd go so far as to say every genre is well represented if you're willing to look around.
If you mean by player count, then that's just DnD/pathfinder domination. Still, there's large fan bases for 40k, shadowrun ect.

About four years ago, my mother's car got attacked by some kind of superpowered freak. It put my mother in a coma for a good while, and she's been hospitalized ever since.
Now you'd THINK that the cops would be interested in pursuing someone who would and CAN punch cars into oblivion, but pretty everyone I told about what happened laughed in my face.
The only person who actually DID believe me is a girl I met in the park the night after the accident... and thanks to her, now I have my own powers.
The hunt for that book that Lorelei told me about actually seems to be going somewhere, as I've managed to find the names of the two kids who attacked me and Irene the other day. After giving said names to Irene, she used her evil organization connections to get their address too!
And now it looks like we've just run into one of them.
At least I HOPE it's only one of them.

Though it's a fair ways off, I do hear the familiar heartbeat of that little punk who I beat up the other day. Fortunately, said heartbeat isn't accompanied with the sound of the ground rumbling so I don't think he's caught on to us just yet.
"How far away is he?" Irene asks, not moving her eyes from the direction that I pointed. "And which one is it? Divine Breath's got an average Synapse range but if it's the other kid we're dealing with..."
"It is," I reply.
"Great," she mutters under her breath. "That one's range is more than two kilometers..."
"Eh?"
Irene lets out a small chuckle.
"Around a mile and a half," she says.
"Oh," I nod.
That more or less matches with his distance, I guess. So assuming that we're outside his range, that means that we're JUST outside it. At least he doesn't seem to be in an area with any other people in it.

The Earth Bones are what fix Mundus into a stable form; it is a term synonymous with natural law. The Aedra become the Earth Bones after Convention, and their corpses are visible in the night sky as the plane(t)s.

Bullet Points: Start ~ 18:00
Delay for quality, i.e. perfection (really belabor this point)
Intended to be an integral part of the game for "years"
Tohaa will NOT be removed from HSN3
More pages than N3 itself by appx 40 pages. Still two books in cardboard sleeve. More fluff than rules.
English version translation is high priority, as other languages are translated from English NOT Spanish
Hector confirmed for ALEPH.
ALEPH and Tohaa will receive large amounts of fluff.
Bullet Points: 18:00 ~ 30:00
Fluff is not only rehash of HS/CP, but plenty of new content
"Black Jack" character for USAriadna
New look coming for Dossiers
New stuff for PanO and Yu Jing
Certain new/updated models may be held up for rules revisions established in HSN3 (example, holoprojector)
Holoprojector L2 gets Surprise Shot
many timing changes
better in some situations, worse in others
similar in magnitude to Camo overhaul
Holoprojector L3 confirmed
Nanoscreen is a "state"
Evo Hacking could develop new play styles for certain armies
Yu Jing is getting lots of redesigns in 2016
new transforming profile
Website updates coming soon
browsing minis will get easier, including fluff descriptions
Chronologically not past campaign paradiso for fluff.
Alien (combine and tohaa) stuff is present
USAriadna (as an example) is past
ALEPH and Tohaa will get more new releases than other factions
other factions may average 1-2
Tohaa specific rules take up a large part of the rulebook
Ideal is to have Tohaa feel very different than other armies
Bullet Points: 30:00 ~ 52:00
After release of HSN3 focus will be on 'Acheron Falls'
definitely not the title of book, just project name
could be too much content for 1 book, may be split in 2 for timeliness
Possible total of 36 armies
Korean troops being tested
Cannot estimate release of any part of Acheron Falls
Shasvasti is going to be a large artistic undertaking
Merovingian is going to be a gameplay redesign project primarily
possible inter-sectorial synergy
"reinforcement" rules idea
more than just a 'theme' sectorial
release may correspond to mass resculpting
Delay of HSN3 was "Right Decision"
December Releases:
Domaru 4 pack
Avicenna (who will also work in Hassassin)
Airborn Ranger (blister) with another later in 2016 with new rules released on Army with model
Desperado Bikers
very similar to Kum Riders: Extreme Impetuous, Irregular, Chain Rilfe, 2x Heavy Pistols cost between 13-18 pts with grenades 8-4 MOV // 4-4 MOV, ARM 1, not dogged
Preceptors w/ Symbiobeasts
G: Synchronized. Similar to antipodes in form an size. Can take 1 or 2. 1 is CC, the other ranged.
Achilles 2.0
ARM 6
Goal is to have ALL profiles on Army updated immediately at release of HSN3
New graphics for Saturation Zones examples coming
New Su Jian
New Release for PanO coincides with release of book
Black Friars - part of Military Orders
Spanish name sounded like Black Dominican Monks (my spanish is bad)
Bullet Points 52:00 ~ 1:02:00
Kickstarter models alt sculpts coming in 2016
Similar to "Van Zant effect"... which is better??
Intended as high quality, faction specific, HVTs
Dire Foes was very successful, and had enduring sales
Greetings! I am on the lookout for weird, strange, or obscure monsters - not necessarily "stupid" monster, but stuff you wouldn't normally see in your average dungeon crawl.
I'm running a game where the PCs are exploring a wild, strange new land, and want to stock it with equally strange creatures.
Thank you!
Moss dogs, a very obscure Pacific Northwest horror. a large spirt who forms a body from a deep moss bed (is a moss bed?) The size can vary up to grizzly bearish they follow you after you pass and disturb their homes with almost perfect silence they will attack from behind with unnatural force even against numbers as they don't know fear being impervious to crushing and impaling only fire can drive them off/kill them.
>>43509466
Odradek. It looks like a broken bit of kit, but somehow it's always there when making camp or searching a pack. Just sitting there, always. No matter what treasures you lose, weapons you break, comrades you fail, Odradek is still there. Old, retired, adventurers remember Odradek, and when it plagued them. When the last party member falls, Odradek will be there.
>>43509466
Look up speculative evolution, take some interesting animals and exaggerate their traits.
I watched two documentaries on that topic recently which included stuff like:
>huge, boat-like jellyfish colonies populated by spiders
>elephant-squids living in forests
>basicly sharks with a hive mind
>plant-like creatures that feed by drawing nutrients out of the ground and store them in trees on their back
>Towering giants without hands, mouth, etc. They wander a giant cell colony that replaced the ocean, taking bites out of it with their mouth-feet
These things may not hold up to dragons or the like in raw power, but the strangeness should make them great low/mid level encounters.
Someone get me a name for this one

Time for another Storythread, /tg/
If you have /tg/ related stories to post, post them here, and maybe some kind anon will give you feedback (or at least acknowledge that someone did actually read it, which let's face it is what writefags really want).
If you don't have a story ready then I and other anons will be posting pictures throughout the thread for you to test your writing skills on. Or if you have some other inspiration building up inside, compelling you to write a story, feel free to empty your brain into this thread. It may be a campaign setting you've played, it may be a book you read, or it may just be that a daemon is visiting you in your sleep to fill your dreams with wonders and horrors. Whatever it is, your story is welcome here.
As much as this is about encouraging people to write, Storythreads are story-oriented (well duh). Therefore character bios, greentexts, recollections of games you played, general snippets of writing, etc, etc, can go elsewhere.
Remember that writefags love to have feedback on their work. Writing takes a long time, especially stories that go over several posts, and it can be really depressing when no one even seems to read it (and the writer won't know you read it unless you leave a comment).
And since writing takes a long time remember to keep the thread bumped. Pics are good, feedback is better.
Last week's thread can still be found in the archive here:
>>43373199
and will be around until sometime late next Wednesday
And finally, don't forget to check out past stories on our wiki page:
