Why doesn't everyone with enough rank and influence in 40k just get their body replaced with cybernetics, so they never have to worry about age or disease?
You might argue that they wouldn't like it, but personal preference shouldn't stand in the way of doing your duty for the Emperor.

That's why a lot of them do. Rich Inquisitors will often carry around cyber eagles or replace an arm with a bionic + gun or get bionic eyes/laser fingers, etc.
The only people who don't get body mod upgrades are the ones who can't and the ones who believe in the purity of the flesh.

Many of them do, others follow organizations such as the Cult of the Pure Form which rejects augmentations.
Either way, Cybernetic augmentations cannot really save them from aging and death. Even juvenat treatments can only extend it by a couple of hundred years.

How does Kyr's master of fort and Void shields on buildings work? Are they AV13?
Aslo, as you can take Wall of mathyrs Defence network, which is a full trench line, as one 'Fortification'. Does the whole lot get +1 Av?
Don't know the rules for void shields. I'd have to assume you'd get +1 Av on the wall of martyrs since it is just one big fortification. I'd much rather give it the re-roll 1s though.

The defence network is not one fortification but a bunch put together that takes up one fort slot, you'd have to choose which gets the bonus. As for the void shield the rules explicitly says thats it AV of the fort, void shields have their own AV and while they are part of the fort they are not the fortification itself.

I still feel sick, I don't know what that...thing did to me but I know that I'm still feeling it even a week later. Magic has a huge back story, and even has comics, albeit they're about Dack, no ones favorite.
How would you feel if Disney/Marvel bought Magic and made their story lines a running series?
Hasbro is smart enough not to fuck with Magic as long it continues to be insanely profitable.

Backstory wise, she had a boyfriend long before campaign started. He was a Bad Boy (and she was kind of a Bad Girl) and it was probably a fierce, enthusiastic, and reveling in finally having someone like herself to associate with. (Boy, that didn't last.)
In game, it was an NPC she still kind of has a crush on, and there were a variety of details surrounding the even that made it happen. It was abrupt, forceful, and contractual.

Truly balanced?
You make every possible option identical. If everything is the same, then it's balanced.
Decently balanced? Depends on the game, it's intentions, and it's system.
Balance is an ideal you can never quite reach. It's always a design objective worth striving for, even if it can never entirely be achieved.
Some systems are perfectly balanced, at least mechanically. They tend to be very simple, rules light narrative affairs like Don't Rest Your Head or the various *World games. But the reason they're balanced is that the options available to you aren't particularly mechanically varied or distinct. As soon as you begin to add complex, varied subsystems, balance becomes harder and harder to achieve.

Fortuna is a good exemple of the BBEG ho feel into an absolute "the end justify the means" in a way it make him almost only a subjective BBEG because in the end he's still a good guy to himself and he act upon what he thinks is moral and he believe knowledge is above morality, he's the mad scientist trope in reality but the universe he's in makes him even cooler. He's repeatable yet complex, he's the opposite of what most people consider a good villain ( we don't love to hate him) but yet he's appealing as a BBEG.
