Am I the only robot who doesn't enjoy anime?
I've tried repeatedly to like it by watching some series(evangelion, gundam, one piece, watamote, steins gate and dragon ball specifically) yet I completely lose interest after the 3-4th episode.
I think the 3 main reasons I don't enjoy it is mainly because I can't relate to any of the the characters, the genres and stories don't interest me, and the universes and lore in them are too poorly defined and narrow...

It's a shame, because otherwise I really like the drawing technique.

Have you not watched this board's mascot anime, Watamote? Or do you have criticisms even of that character?
You other issues all seem personal, and sure I may feel differently but I can't give any objective counterpoints. I personally value a "perfect talented" character, perhaps it's something with an idealisation of perfection in myself. I prefer Superman, for instance, because he is nearly flawless as opposed to Spiderman -- whom I find difficult to believe is this big-deal hero who defeats some seriously global-level opponents because he's slightly stronger than your average man and can hear slightly better.
Outside Watamote, I can't think of any off the top of my head with main characters who aren't excessively gifted or talented in some way, but again perhaps that's because of my preferences towards unnaturally gifted protagonists.

It sucks ass. But I also have a job that pays 18.37/hour. I still hate my job (hell I'd probably hate any job), but in a few months I'll have a few extra grand saved and be able to move out of mom's house. When and why did it become acceptable for people to have childish hobbies even in their late 20s? When you ask a girl what they like they'll start memeing about how theyre just SO in love with pokemons or cat pictures or anime or whatever the fuck is trendy at that point. A hundred years ago or even less at about 25 you were pretty much expected to have a house and family, now those same people are playing fallout all day.
I understand you can like video games or cartoons and it's fine if in your free time you do whatever you want that makes you happy but these people base their complete identity on childish behaviour. Why does this happen?
