Why is this generation so soft? Nobody believes in God anymore, nobody can stay married, colleges have to provide safe places and remove trigger words from their lectures, half of you guys can't even leave the house in fear of...something. What the hell is the problem? Why can't we go out and kick ass anymore?
The problem in my eyes is that we are a generation of now, more and faster. Everyone needs a bigger house, more money, faster news, a hotter girlfriend, bigger muscles, taller people, bigger cocks, nicer clothes, faster scientific breakthroughs, immediate answers to all of our questions, the list goes on and on. While these all aren't necessarily bad things, as scientific breakthroughs have increased exponentially over the last 30 years, it doesn't stop at the work place. Nobody does a job because they love it anymore, they're just trying to climb a little higher on the social ladder, adding a notch on every rung on the way up. Doctors don't give a shit about people, they're just kids that wanted to make more money and stuck with it. Engineers just drag themselves into work after earning their degree because they were told it would earn them good money. Everyone has to lift weights and get gigantic to compete with eachother, being "average" has become a terrible thing, everyone has to be a unique snowflake that exudes attractiveness and sex appeal. The more sexual partners, the better!
God has taken a backseat to science, and I feel its due to the immediate answers science gives us, while religion is a lifelong process that doesn't give any answers until we die. This is just an awful premise to the now, more and faster generation. Who the hell has a whole lifetime to find the answers to why we are here? We want answers right now god damnit! Mr. Dawkins wrote a book that has answers, not hypotheticals! Thats a much easier pill to swallow than the journey of religion, right?
All of this, of course, leads to perpetual selfishness.
