Alright, here's the story.
I enrolled in a university about six months ago, and I moved out and started living alone as a result. Obviously, this meant having to cook for myself.
Problem is, I'm absolutely terrible in a kitchen, and I've ordered take-out more times than I've actually cooked stuff. My weight's been going up as a result, and I'm getting tired of it.
What are some simple and cheap dishes for a complete cooking retard? Bonus points if it's something I can make large portions of so I can just keep it ready in my fridge.

Also nothing tastes good after eating it for three days in a row no matter how much you think you enjoy it.
Why is pork tenderloin so cheap?
It's so lean and delicious, yet i can get one for less than 3 quid at the supermarket. Yet a beef tenderloin of the same weight will cost... well, a hell of a lot more.
>>7239041
cows take more resources by weight to produce than pigs.
>>7239065
That doesn't really explain much. Consider the relative difference in price between different cuts of both cows and pigs. At my local supermarket the lesser cuts of beef cost around $4-5 per pound. Tenderloin is easily $20/pound--roughly four to five times the price of the more common cuts. Most cuts of pork, on the other hand, costs about $2-3 per pound, with tenderloin being only slightly higher.
The fact that cows are more expensive to raise than pigs explains why beef is on-average more expensive than...

How does /ck/ make their pulled pork if they only have a slow cooker?
I received one for christmas and seeing as pulled pork is the current meme food in the UK I thought it would be useful to ask a few questions before I do it
>does the pork need a rub, and or sear before you add it to the pot?
>apart from stock what would be a good liquid to add? Would cider (alcoholic) work well seeing as its pork OR beer OR coke OR a combination?
>what vegetables would be good to add to the pot? I was currently thinking just onion and garlic
>Do I add the barbecue sauce after the pork has completely cooked and it's been pulled? and anyone have a recipe for 'authentic' barbecue sauce because I'm not ruining my pork with the terrible sugar smoke syrup we get over here
Thanks guys
>does the pork need a rub, and or sear before you add it to the pot?
Neither of those are strictly required but they do improve the pork.
>apart from stock what would be a good liquid to add?
It's rarely cooked with stock but stock would certainly work. Typical would be beer or cola.
>Would cider (alcoholic) work well
Yes. Great choice.
>what vegetables would be good to add to the pot? I was currently thinking just onion and garlic
Those are both good choices. Chili peppers of various sorts would be another good addition.
>Do I add the barbecue sauce after the pork has completely cooked and it's been pulled?
Yes. Cook the pork, pull it, then sauce it.

Try this OP (assuming there is Dr Pepper in the UK, if not, Coke or root beer would work). I really can't think of a way to screw it up though.

Don't tell me you forgot about her
>Nigella Lawson was born today in 1960. Her two best known books are How To Eat and How To Be A Domestic Goddess, both of which sold in the hundreds of thousands. Then she went to television, first in England and now on the Food Network. She grabs attention with lusty, borderline sexy commentary about the pleasures of cooking and eating. She claims no particular training in cooking; she does what comes naturally. She seems to know what many food writers and TV people don’t: what tastes good. Being very...

For me it is the McChicken, the best fast food sandwich.

It's snowing. What's some essential winter food?
Various standard soups is all the food I can recommend, but follow this link for a hot punch recipe that is amazing in the depths of winter.
http://punchdrink.com/recipes/charles-dickenss-punch/
Food
Ice cream, chocolate shakes, cereal, deli sandwiches, burgers and dogs on the grill, watermelon, cobb salad, cole slaw, grapes, cold fried chicken on a picnic.
Favorite pizza toppings?
Pic related, it's me enjoying my pizza.
Pretty much anything with anchovies.
Pepperoni or pepperoni + bacon. Sausage can be ok if the shop is good
If it's just one topping I'll go with pepperoni.
However I like to also add shallots, bell peppers, black olives and basil leaves.
