Why don't you own a food processor as based as pic related?

>people pay thousands of dollars for this shit

Oh I'm laffin
>>
I have it. It does wonders.
It cooks the a great classic Ragù in just 30 minutes instead of the 2 hours classic Italian recipe.
Every risotto I cook is delicious just like the Italian tradition.
For every Italian food lover I suggest to buy it.

Who on /ck/ uses Asian pears? Any way to actually cook them or do you eat'em like an apple?

Pic related: this one is a ’product of Korea’ but I'm not sure if N or S. Since they're not being specific I figured it might as well just read 'this is a product'...thoughts?

Ive eaten them raw and I believe I've eaten them as part of a soup. Iirc

>sliced asian pears
(They are a starched based fruits, so you may want bigger chunks)
>chicken
>ginger
>salt and pepper
>wedged tomatoes
>fish sauce to taste
>onions

Boil until pears soften and chicken is thoroughly cooked. Serve with rice (preferably Jasmine long grain).

I believe you can replicate this with apples, but lighter varieties are preferred (granny smiths may be too sour). You can also add other veggies such as peas, carrots, and water chestnuts for a more filling meal.

I'd probably cook the chicken separate and add it to the soup: salmonella scares me. That or it'd be a 'Campbell & Pear' soup
>>
>>7395817
I only eat them raw but they are the GOAT pear, nothing else compares (as long as you take off the skins)

Is this one of the best foods ever or what? Also where does it originate from? I'm from Wisconsin and I like it and people seem to like it here. Is it from Germany or something? Our foods/drink are inspired from German foods a lot I think.

What's your favorite cheese to have on this?

Aromatics.

Ran out of celery, so I'm using carrot, bell peppers, red onion, 1 habanero, 2 cloves garlic.

Spices: salt, pepper, oregano, rosemary, basil.

On the stove....

What should I do with plantains? The reduced produce section of my supermarket always has them, so I got about ten of them for a dollar. The ones I bought this time are still green, just with some blemishes.

I've tried boiling them just like potatoes and while that's okay, it's not my favorite. I'd prefer not to deep fat fry them. I imagine I'll have them for a while, so any ideas of what I could do with fully ripe plantains would be appreciated, as well.

slice them into chips and fry them up in some olive oil. season with salt, or if you have lawry's seasoned salt, even better.

That's the "salty" style which I prefer over letting them ripen and having sweet fried bananas.

Get to it, faggot. Times a wastin.
>>
I slice them into chips and let them soak in lemon, salt and dried thinly sliced chili, then I deep fry them. Turns out pretty good OP, I also boil them, smash them with bread crumbs, make small popcorn balls and fry them
>>
Make a chip thats your option no other option available

i'm going to my friend's party tomorrow and probably gonna get my first taste of alcoholic drink (not sure which one it is, i was a total beta and didn't have any experience with them)

what should i expect? how was your first alcoholic drink experience?

>>
You should expect it to taste like alcohol. My first experience with alcohol was that it tasted like alcohol.
>>
>>7394016
that didn't really help
>>
alcoholic drinks dont really taste good. the reason people mix vodka with juice is because vodka tastes like shit.

whiskey also tastes like shit. beer tastes like shit.

wine tastes like shit.

alcohol tastes like shit

> use day old rice to make fried rice

Fuck that. You buy brown rice from the Chinese takeout place and use that.

I figured this out yesterday and thought I'd share since I've always had trouble with it sticking using day old rice.

>>
What's wrong with using day old rice again?
>>
>>7393646
OP's always had trouble with it sticking.
>>
>>7393641
so... instead of buying fried rice from the Chinese place you purposely went to, you buy brown rice and go home and make fried rice.

Ok.

How's your diet going?
Do you have any interesting or creative methods of dealing with intense cravings?

If I get a massive craving for let's say a big ham sandwich or scrambled eggs and bacon I sometimes just make the meal, than feed it to my family. Ironically, the process or ritual of preparing the food helps to get my mind off it - and my family's starting to wonder why I'm so nice to them lately.
Anyways, I feel like this isn't really a common thing but I'm sure some people here do it...

Pretty hard. I get full really easily and so I've been trying to do the whole smaller size more meals thing but I get full and can't eat much at the smaller meals.

I've gotten Ensure to add liquid calories and make sure to eat ice cream for dessert
