Yes and no. Olive Garden has a deal with a small boutique hotel owned by a wine company in Tuscany.
They send their head chefs and general managers there for a week at a time during the off season, when tourist traffic is low.
They spend one afternoon with the hotel chef, watching her cook and posing for photo ops. The rest of the time they sight-see, sample wine and talk about numbers.
It's basically a corporate retreat. The recipes for all of their food come from a company generated cook book and are as authentically Tuscan as Chef Boyardee.

Anyways. My father and I were talking about Thanksgiving dinner and what we're doing, and obviously got on the topic of previous Thanksgivings. Growing up, we used to always go to my Aunt's (my mother's younger sister) place for Thanksgiving. Neither her, nor my uncle could ever cook properly so the Turkey was always dry, but everything else was at least decent.
Around age 18, we started going to my other aunt's (my dad's younger sister) for Thanksgiving, before irreconcilable personality difference caused us to vow to never speak again. Anyways, SHE could cook, and to this day is one of the best cooks I've ever known (aside from myself and my father). But one year in particular, she did a homemade stuffing mix for Thanksgiving. I love stuffing but this, supposed 'family recipe', turned out as light green mush that tasted just nasty. I could normally overlook that but everything else she made was amazing. She claimed it was my grandmother's recipe, and my dad argued it wasn't since Grandma's never turned out green.
Short of food coloring, how the hell does this shit happen? I know the original recipe called for parsley, but not enough to turn the entire thing green. It's still a mystery how she managed that.

I eat steak once a week, and chicken and eggs the rest of the time. Might have some pork with breakfast. If it's the summer, then I'm probably smoking pork shoulders and ribs. In the winter, I'll make a pot of chili with quality beef (no ground beef or beans you heathens).
I can't even imagine eating beef everyday. What would I cook?
Spaghetti? I'd rather have pork sausage. Tacos? I'd rather have carnitas or lengua. Enchiladas? Shredded chicken. Burger? I'd rather have a fried or grilled chicken sandwich. Roast beef sammi? I'll take an italian club with ham and salami.

I finished raking up the leaves and had a hankering for McDonalds Fellatio Fish, so I decide to hit the drive-thru and rolling up, I see both lanes have two vehicles in them and I pick the outside lane (as it's been my experience that it's usually "luckier" and tends to go faster).
I pull up and roll down my window, only to hear; "yeah, and I'll take 9000 Happy Meals, 3952 without pickles, 468 with no mustard, blablabla, etc."
I then have to sit there as _three_ cars place their orders and roll thru the inside lane, while this empty-headed fucking soccer mom is ordering everything on the menu (and each thing of course has to be specially made for her retarded spawn) until finally she finishes and the next car in line can roll up....
Which is driven by ANOTHER empty-headed fucking soccer mom ordering 9000 Happy Meals and a ton of other shit (also, everything specially made) and I get to sit there and watch as another _three_ cars roll thru the inside lane while I'm waiting....
God damn it to fucking hell! If you're going to order a bazillion items, GO IN THE FUCKING RESTAURANT and make your order and stop holding up dozens of normal people behind you!
