Hello what is your opinion on 853D soldering station, i want to buy one to work witn SMD components but i dont know wat to chose
>>1016344
>853D soldering station
It's a good choice
I was looking at a similar one for regular home soldering and stuff because it looks neat and has a lot of features for only $100
>>1016344
As much as everyone shits on the cheap chinese soldering stations, I have an 852D+ and it works great.
That being said, there's some issue with it that can give you a tingle if you're suitably grounded...
Any guides on house building? Going to buy some land and use the wood to build a house, any electrical guides would be nice too
>>1016312
The 2016 NEC book.
Nope no one has ever written a guide for that, and if they have, it sure as shit wouldn't be on Google.
>>1016339
Thank fucking god im not the only one who gets this.
Anyone who wants to build any domocile needs to just get a copy of this shit. It walks you through every calculation you need from footing depth and width, to framing, and roof load.
Get it, read it, study it, learn it.
Hey guys, I know you still interest in those things and I know you can help me with my new project. I want to make a new sound system for my working laboratory which allow sound experience: I want to use a processor (IMX6L) and some DAC/amplifier (TAS5760M) embedded in each speaker box to drive them. The ULTIMATE purpose is to manage the EQ and volume of each speaker via I2S.
Here on the next picture is my electronic arch, I got in hands the I2C configuration with a beautiful Nucleo F303 code. And I know how to send data to the DAC/Amplifier with an audio precision tool....
Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Here is electronic arch. Any comment any suggestion would be great!!!

I'd like to make pixel art using beads and sell the fuck out of them.
The problem is, I'll probably need to buy beads in bulk for every color, and it's expensive.
Is there any way I can make my own beads or is there a better alternative?
>>1015734
>I'll probably need to buy beads
this is known as business
if beads were free then everyone would make and sell these things and so the market would flood and nobody would buy them
Go to goodwill and buy up all the shit the socker moms drop off youll get them for a lot less but have to sort them out
>>1015745
>sort them out
These cocksuckers right here.
How can I snap these bastards off without dashing my knuckles across the wall every god damned time?
Hammer claw doesn't fit in the loop, and I'm not really open to the idea of grinding the tines down to make it fit.
15" adjustable wrench worked fine for snapping them off, but fuck me if I didn't end up taking a few layers of skin off my knuckles.
There must be a better tool for this. I had to break roughly 500 today, and next week after the next pour, I'm probably looking at another 500-1000 depending on how much we get done.
Help me /diy/. Help me to maintain my sanity.
>TL;DR: Is there a tool specifically for breaking these fucking things?
Bolt cutter?
>>1015660
Yes and no. It would take off the loop for sure, but the idea is to twist the end so that it snaps the tie behind or inside the cone so that the cone can be removed, leaving a hole that can be filled.
Using bolt cutters would leave some of tie flush or proud of your wall, fucking up your finish.
Impact wrench, with a socket that's had a slot cut through the middle.
The back right tire of my ford 2000 taurus smokes (white smoke) when I drive my car. I think it's the brake caliper. How do I fix this?
>>1015484
show a pic edge on (in the center gap) so we can see the pads and rotor
>>1015489
Hold on,
worn pads and rotors won't make white smoke without a shit load of noise.
how is your brake pressure?
are you sure it isn't your exhaust?
put a brick on the accelerator and take a look.
So my poulan chainsaw is giving me hell.
It was sitting on a shelf for over 5 years. I replaced all the fuel lines, spark plug, air filter and fuel filter.
The chainsaw starts with starting fluid but doesn't stay running.
I disassembled the carb and it was very clean like the saw didn't see much use ( I inherited it , so i don't know) , the diaphragm was also still flexible and in working order.
Not sure what else to check. Any ideas?
>>1015450
put marvel mystery oil in the gas and oil ( a bit not to much), and let it work it's way in. pull the cord and let it run as long as it can.
make sure the new fuel line isnt kinked in the gas tank pinching off flow. You may have installed it too far. If not, carb. bowl needs to be drained or carb, cleaned. Should be a drain screw somewhere on the carb.
Clean out the carb with carb cleaner.
It might look clean but all it takes is one tiny blocked passage and that's it. After sitting there is probably varnish in there
Hey /diy/, after a domestic dispute with my stepdad regarding what I can and can't do with the household, the mailbox in pic related got punched so there's some damage to it.
Don't know what kind of material it's made of, but if you punch it, it is dented and it can look like it has a rip.
Is it possible to fix or am I fucked and I gotta spend another 15 dollars to get a new one?
Looks like the mail isn't going to fall out. It's fine.
>>1014600
>punched
man you got a weak punch anon... maybe you should spend money on working out instead... pussy!
>>1014621
Yea, it didn't get punched very hard. If it would of, then there'd be rips around the whole area.
Barkeepers friend
Clorox or comet?
Rag or paper towel?
>>1014400
anything with grit is going to scratch the crap out of it
CLR or bleach
>>1014400
I think it depends on what's on the door. I've tried Barkeepers Friend, Lime Away, etc., but none of them worked for me.
I hate saying anything non-positive about Barkeepers Friend... it's absolutely amazing for stainless steel sinks and pots.
Spray vinegar on it and wait a few minutes
I am going to be staying on a farm for a while and was told to build a cabin.
I am looking for some ideas (dimensions, styles), tips, links (free plans) or anything that can be of assistance.
I'm not sure of the dimensions but it should be small as is it just for shelter and sleeping.. no kitchen or bath. It should also be cheap.
They told me to look into "pole buildings."
I have no experience with such a task so anything will help.
If I were you I would go for a simple flat roofed shed with a 2x4 frame clad in ply if longevity isn't an issue otherwise clad in larch or similar.
It's easy to do, takes little time and is relatively inexpensive.
why on earth isn't there a sticky for small buildings already!?
>>1014352
>a while
long enough to be making a permanent structure? is it meant to be permanent?
>just for shelter and sleeping.. no kitchen or bath
insulation? roofing? siding? floor? windows?
>>1014367
It could become permanent, I'm sure that they will keep it up after i'm gone and if I return maybe I'll add onto it.
There won't be any insulation or flooring other than plywood. I'm sure the roof will be something basic for now like plywood. Other than a door there might be a window.
I live in a apartment and I am bored out of my mind. I wanted to get a hobby but most interesting hobbies require a work space. Apartments are limited and you can't use things that are fire hazards. Like I had a interest in glass working but that requires obviously a torch and that isn't happening in a apartment.
What are some other similar hobbies i could try that are apartment friendly?

Any type of sewing (a sewing machine will pack away and fit on any table)
All i got atm for small. But most things you can work in a small area. Just need a cheap desk to keep everything and like a stool that tucks under it.
OMG look at this my new project, a cage for the penis. Its so aesthetic, made of wood and inox bars.
This work was commissioned by a homosexual guy. Don't ask me what we will do with that...
>>1007988
Square cages don't work well with round things. I'm sure you're trolling, but on the off chance that you aren't, redesign it round, home depot has small round steel rod already made for the bars, and make sure you make it a clamp style closer.
>>1007999

Those corners will also nail his leg, and maybe take out his boyfriends eye or something.
Fags are just a bar gunsman to work for.
I came into a birch edge glued slab, ment for a work bench. Is is 27"x 60" x 2".
I want to turn it into a coffee table but that dimension feels too wide.
Should i rip it along a glue line, down to 20" using my skill saw?
Just cut it shorter.
Size seems fine to me. But if you do want it narrower, aim your cut an 1/8" on the waste side and then sand down the rest.
>>1016978
Before cutting you might consider if (and how) the cut-off pieces can be used.
if i want to go past 15A total draw on a power tool automatic dust collection switch https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001BSL1BM/
i can hook up a relay into the vac outlet right? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000JJM7ZS/
and probably use another circuit for the relay output.
If you're trying to increase the vacuum side of the switch and the relay you are looking at has a coil rating of 120 vac then yes.
>>1016957
that's the answer i was looking for thanks
i'm planning to make a Wandel small dust collector
>>1016961
What size motor are you looking at that you need a 30a relay?
I'm thinking of setting up a small Aquaponics system using a 3 gallon tank that looks much like the picture posted.
I'll be using this guys system . https://youtu.be/
Do you guys have any hints or have your own system you wanna share?
>>1016501
see
>>>/out/804122
You also pasted the link without the actual video code. Personally, I find anything under 55 gallons to be too small to properly maintain balance. The smaller the amount of water the quicker things can go wrong.

Ok it doesn't matter anyway I just came home and my fish were dead :'(
