754 KB,
So a couple nights ago my dog woke me up barking at my window, figured he heard the neighbors cat. So I turned on my nightlight to go get him and calm him down, when I heard footsteps running in the grass away from in between our two houses (my room is ground level). I ran out front with my flashlight and saw a figure running around the corner. I came back in, and reluctantly got back to sleep. I've been a little freaked out the past few nights and been trying to think of ways I could my window more secure, without locking it because my room stays warm for a couple hours...

The burglar heard your german shepherd, he saw you with you outside with a light.
What incentive would bring him back when there are thousands of other places to rob?

A thief is going to scratch your house off the list I would think, unless you made someone mad enough to want to murder you.

If you insist on keeping the fan in the window, and the window open...

Use something to stop the window from being opened all the way. Buy a 2x6, cut it down and chock the window.
An intruder would have...

Hey diy. My sister dented the front of her car, and was wondering if I could fix it. She doesn't have the money to get the dents popped and repainted and it's just an older AB car so I said I'd give it a shot. Just want to make sure I have the steps in order. Obviously I know to remove loos paint and everything before hand but what I'm not sure about is how fine to sand the bondo down to, how many coats of primer, and what grit to sand thode to. Same with paint and clear coat. I'm gonna rattle can since its just an AB car but I want it to look as good...

The bumper should be plastic. How old is the car?
>>

You can use a hair dryer to pop the dent out. Just heat it and hit it from behind with a rubber hammer.

I'd start out by taking a level, and placing it on your driveway. To see if it's level.

It's nylon. Just buy a new one, the dye would cost about half of what a new one will and it probably won't look right.

Went out for a cigarette in the middle of the night and noticed that the small entrance hall to my house had like 8 of these fuckers scooting around the window.
I suspect it's an Indian mealmoth (Plodia interpunctella).

>I haven't seen them anywhere else in the house.
>They've only dicked around in the small vestibule.
>They're only there by night. Although they seemed numerous in the night, this morning I saw none.

Do you have pets? If you have any sort of seed or grain, it can have mealmoths. Bird seed, rodent feed.
And try not to squish them, they leave a little brown stain that is fucking impossible to remove.

If you can't answer this, then you probably shouldn't make a satellite.

Without ground stations you can do fuck all really.

You are better off making your electronics instead of fucking retarduino. Yes consumer electronics can work in space, but they're shit. Weight and making shit reliable is more important than cheap.

But why don't you do something useful like test electrospray propulsion or demonstrate fine attitude control? Anything else is shit and not worth wasting...

Realistically, if you have to ask these questions, you're not going to be able to get this done on your own. Your best bet is to attend some University that has its own cubesat program and get involved with that.

And while it is POSSIBLE to make a cubesat with cheap components (http://www.50dollarsat.info/), launch costs will still run up to five or six figures, so it's a bit silly NOT to invest in more powerful hardware for a more capable satellite.

Looking to see what lighting alternatives that are available to a 0 electricity building? I've heard of a charity who are using plastic bottles filled with water and chlorine in the roofs of african slums to create a light source (pic related)
In the aim of maximizing light into a room/campervan so that plant's etc can still get adequate sunlight

>>
>>996514
Get a used sliding glass patio door and install it as a skylight. Just build a box up and use flashing properly to make it waterproof. If you don't do the flashing correctly it will leak; same as any other roof installation.
>>
>>996514
>so that plant's etc can still get adequate sunlight
This will take decent window space (much more than your image). Chemical lights aren't bright enough. Before electric lighting, buildings were designed for natural light during the day. Building with this in mind is easier than remodeling. What's your situation?

Hey guys,
can someone explain to me how the fuck you attach a toilet seat with these...I've only ever had to put a bolt though the holes and a nut and washer below...but this shit has me stumped.
7 replies and 2 images submitted. Click here to view.
>>
>>996485
What does the seat look like?
>>
Looks to me like the toilet should have two holes in each side for the pin and the bolt. I'd think you'd put the black rubber thing on the pin on the metal bracket, and press that in into the hole for the pin on the underside. The clear plastic looks like it goes on the bottom of the bracket you just pressed in. Then put the white washer on the bolt, and put it through the hole so it comes out of the top of the toilet. Then the white plastic wing nut. That's the only way i can think to use all those pieces.
