Need a bit of help with a pump.
There's some small clips that hold the impellers onto the axles of the pump to stop them sliding up and down. The outer one on either side of my pump is gone and I've no idea what the type of clip is called to search for it.
Anyone have any idea?

The clip looks like this. The impellers are sliding out and getting jammed without the clips there
>>
Looks almost like a window handle clip, though for your purpose you should be able to use something like a snapring in its place.
>>
looks like of of those springy hose clamps that go on without tools.

Has anyone here gone through the patent process themselves? Have any tips?

Don't say InventHelp. Their program is a huge fucking scam.

>>
Read lots of other patents of similar products.

Get a slippery as fuck lawyer.

Have lots of money.

Pray that another patent doesn't get approved during the 2+ years time it takes for yours to go through.
>>
If you're a university student, there is guaranteed to be a professor or other faculty member somewhere experienced in the patent process.
Just ask anyone that looks like they've been around for a while and they should be able to point you to someone that can help you.

Can I run a 12v 500w amp from an of the shelf wall wart?
>>
>>989601
Sure.

If you can find a 42 amp wall wart.

Unless you have a pretty beefy computer power supply lying around your best option to power that sub is probably just buying a home audio amp or receiver. You could just run the car amp off a 12v battery inside but that would be the niggest of rigs and you'd have to charge the battery and shit.

Im planning a DIY project for some interior accents. I plan on soldering brass foil tape to glass to form a terrarium. I'm capable of doing this. My holdup is I have no clue where to begin looking for custom glass cutting service who also screen or silk prints onto glass. I can could cut the glass by hand and have it sent in for printing but id rather have it machined and printed. Anyone happen to know what I should be searching for? Is there a specific name for this service?

I'm taking out of my ass, but can you laser-engrave glass? You could go to a makerspace or uni or friend with a laser cutter

So I have found myself a new hobby. DIY Books.

So far I have worked a little bit with thermal binding and plastic rings, but I want to craft real books now. Does anyone else bind books on /diy/? And what method do you use?

I really love the old world style of printing and book making. Classy as fuck.

There are a few good videos about it on youtube.

I used to make them by getting the block of paper set up between two thin bits of wood, then clamping them down firmly- mark out the holes about 5mm-1/4" from the edge and then drill holes along the length with a small (generally 2mm) bit about every 1cm or so. Then take the boards off, get waxed cotton and bind the core of the pages together with a ringbolt hitch down the length.
Nice thing about the ringbolt is that its got a bit of room so you can either sew the spine to it or it'll have enough 'meat' so to speak to have glue to grip to it.
>>
Perfect binding with a binder clip and some pvc glue. Easy but very useful if you have loose papers you want to bind for any reason.

The soles of my shoes have dried out and become porous, and developed cavities/holes. I can't keep wearing them until I've fixed the holes. How do I do this?
I thought about just filling the holes with wood glue or something, would that work?

Dude, just buy new shoes.
>>

I'm not going to buy something new of anything if I can fix what I've already got.
If this doesn't work, then I'll buy new shoes.

Got some heavily corroded bolts on my toilet seat hinge.

What's the easiest way to remove them?

Tried
-Plenty of WD40
-Melting the plastic nuts off, they're positioned in a way thats too awkward to reach so I gave up

Dremil with a little cutting disk.

Cut/grind a slot in them and apply a large slotted screwdriver with a big bar on it.

Hack saw with the blade on the 45 degree angle.

I have a burnt fuse in my LG g3, decided to try to fix it myself, but I can't find the part anywhere in Australia.

https://www.encompassparts.com/item/10393296/LG/EAH62172601/Diode,_Tvs

That's the part I need, but I can't find anywhere in Aus selling it.

I'm a bit of a poorfag though, so I'd rather fix it than resort to buying another phone. Where can I find this part?

Pic related is the g3, it's the little black square next to the micro USB

Have you got a schematic of that part of the circuit? If its simply a crowbar diode you should be able to use something else.

How did you blow it up?

I'm guessing it was a bad charger, I'm going to throw out all my cheap chargers soon and only use the reliable ones.

I just woke up one day and the battery was draining super fast (flat in 12 hours standby) and the phone was warmer than usual. Opened the back out of curiosity and saw the burnt ic. Not sure if it's clear in the image though.

And I think so, I'll check the service manual.

You should be able to just replace the whole USB board for a few bucks.

My nephew got hold of my coffee stirrer and bent it out of shape. Now I can't get it centered, so it wobbles like crazy and it cant stir worth shit.

Any ideas how to fix it?

Shove it up your nephew's rectum, switch it on, then go buy a new one.
>>
>>987654
use one hand to bend it back, another hand up your ass
>>
>>987654
More wrist action, you know, like a spoon. It'll take seven second longer to stir your coffee, but you'll be able to brag about "roughing it."

Has anyone done a DIY tattoo? If you have share experiences and pics thanks

i did it in my parents bathroom as a teen with india ink and a sewing needle
it was 100% not safe but i didn't have any infections. however, it faded like mad so if you get it on the finger like in the op pic you're better off drawing it with a sharpie. I put my needles in boiling water for an hour and basically soaked them in rubbing alcohol to cool them down. I used piercing antiseptic for the aftercare.

No way in hell you're going to get the 5Ghz band to travel 300 feet.

Even with a parabolic antenna or directional antenna?
>>
>>986959
How many walls will the signal have to go through?

How many of you guys have experience with modding a mechanical keyboard? I'm rocking a Steelseries 6GV2 (for 2 years now) and I still love it so much.

I really love the completely blank key caps on modded keyboards, but they are expensive and the enter key is sold nowhere (its this long enter thingy). I thought maybe sand the key caps and spray paint them. Maybe some more ideas I could do?

Is there any purpose to blank key caps?

Aside from acting smug and elitist when someone not very familiar with computers tries to use it, of course.
