Most of you are missing the point of this character.
For Vader, his suit was necessity - he could not survive without it. He needed it.
For Kylo, his costume (mask, cape, lightsaber to a certain degree) - is an image that he wants to project. He has in his head an idea of what true Dark Side warrior should be like and that example is Vader.
In that scene when Hux comes in while Kylo and Snoke are having a discussion, you see how uncomfortable Kylo gets - he is painfully aware that he is NOTHING like Vader. He is aware of Vaders weakness - sentimentallity. He feels the same pull towards the Light (new concept, in PT and OT we always had heroes who were tempted by the Dark Side while in TFA it`s played out in reverse) but he doesnt want to accept that as he knows that is why the Galactic Empire fell.
When Kylo is talking to Vaders helmet he mentions how he feels tempted by the Light.

Gail is a cutie but the show is really boring now, every show feels identical and nobody is willing to stir the pot or disagree with Ron. It was funny the first few weeks with the new content and the flirty dynamic with Gail and Pepper with daddy Ron looking over, but you can't carry a show with that. Now it's like some music show on NPR or something.
I get that Ron never wants on air drama again, though. I don't blame him one bit, and if he's happy then I am happy for him even though I don't listen anymore.
