My first piece of terrain using an airbrush.
The question is, what sort of rule set does a piece of terrain like this have?
Explodes if damaged by a blast weapon?

I'm a noob to DND, I thought a monk sounded cool, so how do I build one. The Game's 5th edition.
>>46064437
High Dex, high Wisdom.
For the early levels, use a quarterstaff in addition to your unarmed attacks- it's a monk weapon, so you can do flurry of blows after making a quarterstaff attack.
Way of 4 Elements is shit and everything costs too much ki in it. The other ways are fine.
the players handbook should have a quick build for you.
you mostly just fight things one on one but you gain cool supernatural abilities to enhance your physical prowess. have you already rolled for your stats? dexterity and wisdom should be your highest. forget intelligence. use your ki points wisely.
>>46064437
One thing worth noting beforehand is that DnD generally has monks do things worse than any other class. While 5e is certainly the kindest edition to monks so far, it's still worth noting that a lot of what a monk achieves with careful thought and planning can be done just as well by any fighter with half a brain. Aside from that though you're certainly correct about them being cool: if there's one satisfaction you can take from playing a monk it's being able to punch things in the face or beat them with a stick while you loop and dodge around trained swordsmen like it's nothing. You also end up with a greater selection and quality of skills compared to other martials, and the fact that you scale off dex, wisdom and con before strength means you can actually roleplay a character that isn't just a bucket of protein powder in disguise. So long as you make good use of abilities and position yourself correctly in fights you can make yourself as beefy as any brick barbarian or turn fights like a caster. (That doesn't mean you should take the elements path though. It's kinda like buying more guns when you don't have enough ammo for the first one.)
TL;DR monks aren't the best at anything but they look cool while doing it.

"Daddy said that he can clip through flat stuff," Gabrielle says, "is that all be can do?"
"Uh, what?" I reply. "'Clip?'"
I am in no way familiar with that term.
"You know," Gabrielle sighs, "like when a character model in a game moves through their own hair or clothing and stuff."
"...oh," I nod. "I guess it's kind of like that. Why're you asking?"
Regardless of how much I'm sucking art it, I'd much rather focus on playing this game than talking about that stupid asshole.
"I just want to be prepared for when he shows up," Gabrielle says. "Y'know, just in case he has some super secret Full Bloom thing that nobody knew about before."

Rogue Trader: The Movie
>>46063804
I actually liked this movie. I don't get why it gets so much hate. I mean, it's not Chicken Little, but it's definitely no Lion King either. I'd put it in the same ballpark as Lilo and Stitch.
>>46063842
Likewise.
It's a little trope-y, but it was fun as far as kids movies go and had great art direction. Plus Kida is one of the hottest Disney princesses.
>>46063842
It also got flak for being rather similar to a Japanese anime from 1990 that also featured a roughly turn-of-the-century setting starring a reddish brown-haired, nerdy protagonist with a bow tie and big round glasses who takes a trip on an advanced submarine captained by a bitter older man and a blonde woman as the first officer who has a little too close of a relation with the captain.
It also features a love interest who is brown-skinned with odd-colored hair and greenish eyes. Who wears a midriff revealing outfit that consists of a bandeau and a split-leg skirt.
Also a magical, glowing blue gem that also happens to be a key to the power of the ancient city of Atlantis.
Incidentally, the girl also happens to be the princess of the place.
Oh, and both have a villain who covets the ancient power of Atlantis for use in military conquest, but is ultimately undone by being turned to mineral by the very power he sought to control.
>bronze dragons breathe lightning
>blue dragons breathe ice
>green dragons breathe poison
Where did this autism come from and why won't it go away?
Dragons breathe FIRE damn it.
>>46063778
Well, the poison thing is supported by the mythology, plenty of dragons spat venom instead of flames. As for the lightning and ice and other variant types, I think it's just an attempt to add some variety to the genre.
>>46063778
Dragons breath Fyre, not Fire.
>>46063778
Blue dragons breathe lightning, you dumb motherfucker.
How do you make druids cool and exciting again?
drugs, bestiality, ecoterrorism
>>46063665
not OP but i'll bump the shit outta this
there are probably various games that really emphasize nature and all that but without hogging all the lore and seizing the setting... that's it isn't it? druids are separate from society. barely any of the lore concerns them. they don't hail to any nation they're of the forests.
>>46063820
>forests
problem number one right here
Why has this Space Marine a wooden shield?
>>46063595
The same reason Imperial tanks have steel armor.
>>46063595
Because GW have lost the ability to tell when historical inspiration stops being cool and just becomes retarded.
These are the same people that thought Murderfang and Logan Grimnar's sleigh were good ideas.
Honestly, there was a time when the Space Wolves were cool and Wolfaboos were respectable members of the fanbase, but at this point the Wolves have been so thoroughly derped up that no-one in their right mind could enjoy them unironically.
>>46063595
What do you know, maybe that wooden shield has a forcefield generator installed on it.
After all, since it's the forcefield that does the work, storm shields could be built with literally anything
>After many complaints from princes in peril, the knight's guild has implemented a 40% women quota
>>46063328
but where can they find woman princes for that?
>only 40% as the princes would rather be carried off by strong sexy men, and the knights guild is mostly women judging by tg posts
>>46063401
>tfw you will never be prince carried by a big, strong knight
Just end me now.

Hard Mode Questions:
>What is the most crazy, whacked out religion in your world?
>What are some of the gods/goddesses in your world?
>Do you have any religions with a common root, like the Abrahamic religions in our world?
>Continuing from the last point, are there any subtle crossovers between religions (like the connection between gods like Zeus and Indra from our world)?
>What are some of the rituals/ceremonies from the religions in your world?
>How have your different religions shaped the history of your world?
>>46063312
>>What's the name of your world? What does it originate from?
Antum, from the word Antumnos, the gaulish other/underworld.
>Do different cultures have different names for your world?
Yes but I can't be arsed to come up with them. NAMES ARE HARD.
>>How much time do you devote to worldbuilding?
Maybe 10-20 hours a week?
>>What are your main inspirations (book/tv series, comics, historical events, etc)?
All media I consume. There's a lot of ideas from novels/rpg settings mixed with stuff from real world cultures. Even some ideas from songs tossed in there.
>>What's the most fun part of worldbuilding for you?
Anthropology. Making up cultures and the history of why they are how they are fascinates me.
>>Have you ever spent a bunch of time and energy on a world, just to have your group end after a couple of sessions? Or do you worldbuild for a book/comic/just for the fun of it?
If I ever managed to be satisfied enough with it I may actually run a game set in it.So probably never
>>What's an idea that you wish you had come up with?
I'm sure several, but nothing comes to mind.
I'm actually having trouble coming up with a name for the world I'm building. How do you come up with good ones?
How does your setting treat lesbians?
We're straight with them for the most part.
>>46062906
The Emperor doesn't care in the slightest.
All he cares about is that you plunder the stars in His glorious name, and bring honor and glory to the Imperium through your service as a Rogue Trader.
Not really giving a fuck, generally. Sometimes reproductive demands may be made for inheritance reasons, but that kind of thing isn't strictly founded in attraction regardless.
I mean it's not even that good of a deck and yet this faggot is $15.
In other news, have you accepted Dredge as your Lord and Savior yet /tg/?
I still refuse to stop running this until I go at least 3/4 with it.
what cards from the Ravinca City of Guilds draft should I be lookin for?

Dredge is trash.
Yard hate is so easy to access too
/tg/, take Excalibur. Find a pool of calm water. Throw the sword into it. Obey me, /tg/! Do it, and return. One day, a King will come, and the Sword will rise... again.

I wanna bang puddle lady god dammit.
Playing online over IMs, such as mIRC, what is your generally accepted delay between posts at about a paragraph's length?
I find I rapidly lose patience with that one player that seemingly takes long breaks on other tabs, doesn't engage or just generally appear to be typing with a lone straw taped to his front tooth because he's a quad amputee.
How can you ever, ever, take more than five minutes to write 30 words?
>sorry I was doing something
>last posted message: 26 minutes ago
>>46061947
1243,5771 seconds
>>46061947
The problem is that something that should take 1 minute to type takes 5, because we keep editing it to get it exactly right.
Help solve a dispute for me /tg/
My buddy says that pic related's first ability cannot be stopped by protection from black because it says "you...target" and the "you", in this case him, is considered colorless.
I say that is bullshit, help me out /tg/
>>46061831
Read as written, it sounds like hes right. However, I think it was intended otherwise and simply poorly elaborated.
So it depends on which flavour you prefer, RAW or RAI
>>46061831
while i get where his logic is coming from look at other magic cards with a destroy effect for comparison.
the destroy effect is always in the hands of the player, in this case the card just specifies that 'you may' which is where your friend is basing his logic.
>>46061831
The effect originates from the card, which is black. Pro black saves you.
