Recently: You finished training, and Robin fought Violet for the championship.

General rules:

There is a 10 minute voting period after each post. Non-contradictory votes will be combined as best as possible.

Write-ins for all votes are always welcome and encouraged. They may not all make it into the post or be altered to fit in, but I'll do my best to at least try to address the spirit of the write-in.

Very important or contentious votes may be redone in a stricter voting system as it comes up.

Combat involves rolls! Once there's a clear vote winner, we roll for the move accuracy/crit/secondary effect. Usually it's just three 1d100s. Sometimes you can get a modifier from circumstances, so be creative! Add flair, do tricks with moves, mess with terrain, whatever! This is not a video game. Weak moves tend to be quicker.

Call me out on a mistake and receive an apology butt or suggestive picture.

Samson and his crew leave the capable little company he motivated up and out of Fort Dalshin, the last of the Dory Company sailing them from their ruined and discovered secret headquarters to Holmstead. Hal, Samson, Millicent, and even Norman are outwardly excited to revisit their old homes, while Edwyg and Adelais just can't wait to see it for themselves. The Noban agents wonder if Sir Jovan has seen Holmstead claimed for their own territory yet, and how they should feel about the fact that, until recently, it was a VERY controversial topic in both Holmstead and Noba as to whether the two should unite.

Less controversially, Dyrus is still more than a little surprised by recent familial revelations! His grandfather gives Hauteclere a simple "Dyrus knows" ("Knows what?" "I'll tell you later, Laurise."), and she immediately seems to know what secret he has learned. For now, though, with the town and castle guard pacified by Marduk's promise that they can keep their jobs under new management, they can approach the sinister, undead-guarded fortress of Methodius. He has no Warp Pendant, he's surrounded and guarded only by himself, and the world is more than aware of the kindly old necromancer's monstrousness.

Rene and her company, still slowly freezing their way through the Ice Authority, tread carefully, knowing that their backup, at their point in the timeline, has yet to return from re-kidnapping Lazare and, unbeknownst to them (though they'd probably indifferent at worst to finding out), killing Oswald Dory. They have their own priorities, even with Methodius, his granddaughter, and his green-haired yes-man making their own poorly-conceived plans... A-anyway, here, they think, this would be the capital of the Ice Authority! Gods, why don't they just NAME their towns? Not everyone is an immortal dragon with all the time in the world to know where everything is...

“And now, to honor the anniversary of the founding of this great nation, and to welcome the match between Lafayette Girls Academy and George Washington Military Academy. We ask that you please rise, and remove your caps, as we play the Star Spangled Banner.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPOBuv8k5hQ

Thousands of people were standing in the bleachers in the hot sun on a summer Saturday, their hands over their hearts as they stared out to the flag waving above the great big projection screen. The Judges, their judging vehicles (Various Kettenkrads, Sdkfz 247s, etc) separated the small Lafayette Girls Academy team from the much bigger George Washington Military Academy team. Unlike everyone over in LGA whom were fidgeting and looking around during the Star Spangled Banner, GWMA’s girls were all chin up, chest out, spirits high.

And when the Star Spangled Banner ended, the announcer was keen to say, “Thank you, Ladies and Gentlemen. The Elimination Match between GWMA and LGA will begin in four hours.”

You place your helmet back on your head, then try to get the strap back on. “Here, let me help ya.” Stack walks over, then happily fixes your helmet strap beneath your chin. “Jeez, Ellie. A little early to be putting the helmet on, ain’t it?”

“I know,” you mutter. “But look at them.” You and Stack look to see the GWMA girl still standing in disciplined formation, with their officers checking each and every girl for anything slightly out of place. “The scouting report said they were supposed to be impetuous.”

Stack smirks. “Also said they was disciplined.” She punches you on the arm, making you flinch. “Come on, you ain’t scared of a bunch of tryhards, are ya?”

>>
What is a "Night Shift Game"?
>>
>>47773647
Oh, Night Shift is a setting that /tg/ came up with.

Basically, your player-characters are a group of normal people, in a small town, dealing with extreme otherworldly weirdness.

Most Night Shift games take place, or at least start, at a gas station.

I'm trying to finish a guide for my own homebrew tabletop game design and I'm implementing an extended morality system. I need some good examples of popular superheroes that fit the definitions of these. Like I know Deadpool is Rebel Impure and Batman is Rebel Good and Joker is Chaotic Impure, but those are really the only ones I know. I have absolutely zero examples for Social Impure or Social Evil.

Homebrewing an imposed morality system is a bad idea, OP. People will just feel compelled to follow one alignment by the letter. It also doesn't help you made up a shit load of redundant moralities so any player now has to read through your explanations for all of them.

What else should I be picking up for my chaos dorfs? (Should I just wait for points?)

Currently have: 50 infernal guard, 10 fireglaives, 1 mortar, drazhoath, all the little heros, and 3 kadaai fire born.

Thinking of picking up: 2 iron demons, 1 death shrieker/magma cannon (for formation, 20 more fireglaves and maybe a few more kadaai for summoning.

Have we heard if battalions cost points yet? Also would anyone have a problem with subbing in or proxying a skullcracker for the iron demon in the formation? They used to be the same unit.

Three days on the road, with nothing to occupy your time but a book of philosophy and Tawn's sullen conversation, has taught you one thing.

Maybe the Emperor had a point, pushing forwards with his railroad. It would certainly save you from dying of boredom. At some points, it got so bad that you almost wished for an attack, an ambush or some meaningless act of rebellion. Anything that might give you an excuse to get out and move about a bit – even if that movement was just to swing a sword into someone's face.

Not a good desire to entertain, you know that, but you can't help it. You're not very good with boredom. As such, it comes as a great relief when the capital looms large on the horizon, and the convoy grinds to a halt.

Finally, a chance to stretch your legs.

Again, Tawn waves away any attempt to help him down from the carriage, lurching out of it with just enough grace to avoid a fall. As he curses softly to himself, you take a long moment to look around the capital, seeking out any oddity of threat. If you'd been expecting any overt sign of Takino's actions, you would have been disappointed – there are no banners bearing his name, or soldiers wearing his colours.

Not openly, at least.

There are certainly plenty of soldiers about, armed men come to meet their returning comrades and exchange greetings – unusually stiff, stilted gestures of welcome. That alone is enough to get your paranoid mind stirring. Although you don't let your guard down, not even for a moment, you try to settle the unease churning within as you survey the scene. A lot can be learned by watching soldiers, how they move and how they act, and these men are telling you – without ever saying a word - to stay cautious.

“You feel it too, don't you?” Tawn, slinking up to you so he can speak without anyone overhearing, asks, “There's ill work in the making... but I fear I won't be around to see it. My duties call for me elsewhere.”

Somewhere more important than here, you ask with a raised brow, now?

“South. The Stone of the South-West,” Tawn replies, “I'm being sent to negotiate with Hirohito, to see if he is willing to return. I have orders, signed with the Emperor's own seal, for him to lead his troops back to the capital. Whether he'll obey those orders or not... that's a different matter.”

For all his flaws, Hirohito is a loyal man – he wouldn't refuse a direct order from the Emperor.

“I think so too,” Tawn almost smiles, from behind that mask of his, “I hope so.”

“Gentlemen, gather round,” Ra, joining you, begins, “I have news. A feast has been prepared – tonight, of course – in the Emperor's name. As you can both very well imagine, I doubt the sincerity of such an event. It's possible – likely, even – that Takino will use this opportunity to make a move against the Emperor. Maybe something small, something designed to test his defences. Regardless, I want to make sure we look as strong as possible. For that, we'll need more soldiers – that means...”

“I understand,” Tawn nods, bowing his head, “I'm prepared to leave at once. I have only one concern. Bringing an army into the city... it might very well provoke Takino, forcing his hand.”

“That is a risk, yes,” Ra admits, “But if Takino chooses to make a move today, and we're not prepared, the risk will be far greater. In either case, the Emperor's command was clear – you are to head south and bring Hirohito back with you.”

And what about you, you ask, has the Emperor given you any orders?

“Do what you do best,” a faint smile touches Ra's lips, “Find trouble. If there's something to be found here, I'm confident you'll cross paths with it. Now, if you'll excuse me...”

“I should make my preparations,” Tawn adds, glancing back to one of the carriages, “If you want to ride with me, Ira, you're welcome along. You know where to find me.”

As the pair go their separate ways, leaving you alone, a soldier bumps into you and grunts out a few words. “You seen this?” he murmurs as a folded envelope is pushed into your hand, “Bad news, friend, bad news...”

And then he is gone, leaving you with a copy of Aya's newspaper. Penned in tiny letters, down in one corner, is the name of a tavern.

Trouble, it seems, has already found you.

Because Scythians were a tribal and low-tech herding society, considered barbaric by the people that wrote about them. Stories involving them tend to emphasize this, especially in period. See the story of a Scythian queen wrecking Persia when it gets too high and mighty.
