ITT; your favorite "big guys" and why

I dont know about you /tg/ but given the chance i always pick the big guy even if its not the most tactically sound. decision and the the best big guy around to me is the GUO because the only thing that makes a big guy better is if hes unkillable.

Honorable mentions to rat ogre for his clashing dichtomy with the fragile skaven making him all the more fun

Anyone else get the feeling that the Jedi where the true evil douchebags of the Galaxy?

Kinda like the Imperium in 40k except with lightsabers, less MUH EMPEROR speech and some hoods?

I mean... they fucking allow slavery and Hutts and drug trafficking and shit as long as they stay in power.

Palpatine at least made life better for Imperials.

The Jedi were space ISIS.

Palpatine did nothing wrong.

Hey /tg/, my friends and I really love monks, the concept of monks, the appearance, the kung fu, the tropes.
But, we all know pathfinder is bad for monks. What system has a good monk class, what makes it good?

Wait, hold up;

So you have this magical device called a "bag of holding".
It's a portal to some vaguely defined other realm that you've never seen.
Whatever you put in it, despite the interior being immense, is easily removed from the magical device, which means that it is not only aware and able to judge what you put in it, but is then able to probe or sense your mind to work out what item in particular you want from it, which it then presents to you on command because it's always aware of what items you want from it.

Dude, it's a psionic or astral parasite of some kind, clearly just making itself handy so you'll carry it around long enough it can eat all your brain juice. Get rid of it or burn it or something.

No, man, it's cool. We tamed them a long time ago. As long as you keep it properly fed it won't try to bite you. It's like dogs, keep friendly with them and train them well and you've got nothing to fear.
>>
>>44343797

You've seen the wizard make whole universes out of nothing and you assume the relatively mundane bag of holding -- which you've seen the wizard make dozens of -- is a parasite.

If anyone in your fantasy setting actually thinks like that then they are legitimately retarded and you are by extension.
>>
>>44343865

...or is that just what the bags want you to believe?

I can't think of how. I'm talking about something like Mad Max in spaaaaace, but it seems like if you fucked up a solar system, you could just move to another, and if you couldn't, then it wouldn't be space opera.

>>
Trap them inside a solar system with an insanely large asteroid belt caused by the destruction of a planet, or some magical space weather.

The entire solar system has its economy destabilized and the planets become less habitable, so every civilization breaks down and people cruise from place to place taking what they can in their run down spaceships held together by spit and duct tape.
>>
>Is it possible to have a post-apocalyptic space opera setting?

Isn't that kind of what 40k is?
>>
>>44343061

Check out Traveller's The New Era books, which takes place right after cataclysmic events basically knocked over the whole of the Third Imperium setting and set it all on fire. It's pretty harsh.
TNE was not a very popular edition, partly because the system got really crunchy and complicated (it was the early 90s so everyone was doing it), and partly because it was so damn grim.

2011: Miniatures production switches from pewter to urethane-based resin allowing for greater detail.

2021: Proliferation of home 3d printers and 3d scanners allows for widespread miniature piracy.

Hopefully they drastically drop in price. Games Workshop is embarrassing expensive compared to the rest of the wargaming world
>>
2017: GeeDubs goes under, no future Warhammer miniatures any more.

You don't need 3D printer competition when the company shits on its customers more every year.

/tg/, what do you think about those players who try to play against type? Who play an elf who hates forests and likes cities, or an orc who's posh and literate?

Believable Personality > Well Played Subversion > Well Played Stereotype > Poorly Played Subversion > Poorly Played Stereotype > -looks up- "Oh it's combat time? Yeah OK rollan mah dice"

Honestly though this sounds like a personal problem. Nothing personnel, kidde, but are you sure this isn't a grudge you've got with a (set of) player(s)?
>>
I don't mind it as much. As long as all those races are still stereotypical in the world sense then I'm fine with people wanting to make their character a little special.

People really should just name names when someone pisses them off, instead of applying broad, generalized admonishments towards everyone.

Seems like Josh made Jake pretty angry, but I don't think Jake really understands the root of the reason why.

The rules are simple:
You write a short post about an idea you have, others will respond with 'yay' if they like it and 'nay' is they don't.
Constructive feedback is always welcome.

>A modern fantasy setting (swords and smartphones) where magic is mostly found in clothes, weapons and armour. Adventurers will have a unique fashion sense because each piece of gear gives them different abilities.
A necromancer could wear goth clothes for undead energy, a hood or pointy hat to grant him magical abilities. The more your gear matches, the more powerful you are.

The Galactic Empire uses megaton shots at hundreds of kilometers.

The Imperium uses hundreds of gigatons and teratons at hundreds of thousands of kilometers.

What's your role in the group? It's a bit low if you are the main Street Sam but a mage can get by on it.

I'm the decker, that's my decks attack stat. My damage in the meatworld isn't suffering though, I've got an agility 10 cyberarm and a Predator.

Yo /tg/, somewhat of a small challenge:
Make a character (Let's say in general fantasy setting) who uses a Katana, but still not a brooding edgelord.
Bonus points for an original, interesting concept.
