I dont know about you /tg/ but given the chance i always pick the big guy even if its not the most tactically sound. decision and the the best big guy around to me is the GUO because the only thing that makes a big guy better is if hes unkillable.

Whatever you put in it, despite the interior being immense, is easily removed from the magical device, which means that it is not only aware and able to judge what you put in it, but is then able to probe or sense your mind to work out what item in particular you want from it, which it then presents to you on command because it's always aware of what items you want from it.

I can't think of how. I'm talking about something like Mad Max in spaaaaace, but it seems like if you fucked up a solar system, you could just move to another, and if you couldn't, then it wouldn't be space opera.
Trap them inside a solar system with an insanely large asteroid belt caused by the destruction of a planet, or some magical space weather.
The entire solar system has its economy destabilized and the planets become less habitable, so every civilization breaks down and people cruise from place to place taking what they can in their run down spaceships held together by spit and duct tape.

Check out Traveller's The New Era books, which takes place right after cataclysmic events basically knocked over the whole of the Third Imperium setting and set it all on fire. It's pretty harsh.
TNE was not a very popular edition, partly because the system got really crunchy and complicated (it was the early 90s so everyone was doing it), and partly because it was so damn grim.
2011: Miniatures production switches from pewter to urethane-based resin allowing for greater detail.
2021: Proliferation of home 3d printers and 3d scanners allows for widespread miniature piracy.

I don't mind it as much. As long as all those races are still stereotypical in the world sense then I'm fine with people wanting to make their character a little special.
People really should just name names when someone pisses them off, instead of applying broad, generalized admonishments towards everyone.
