Does anyone else like playing dice games in the washroom? The acoustics are just right.

Wtf?
No you double nigger.
Scrub that toilet with pic OP, that orange gunk is disgusting.

I live in a fucking haunted house.
I don't mean it's literally haunted (though it probably is, the last owner killed his daughter in the basement with a steak knife) I mean that it's one of those houses that just makes noises for no fucking reason because it was built over multiple generations and parts of it contract at different rates during temperature changes. So could could be laying in bed just trying to sleep and this fucking BANG like Michael Moore falling off a pile of hypocrisy onto a sheet of tin explodes out of the attic for no fucking reason, or the whole building just creaks monstrously as the beams shift in the wind, and a vacuum rushes through the vents so strong that doors slam shut or even open because the knobs are old as shit.
The bathrooms are like something out of a Japanese horror movie, and I mean that quite literally, years of decay have created black hair-like patterns on the tile that look suspiciously like the greasy locks of a hungry gook ghost, and the mirror is smudged with red rust from the decayed frame, which has run down in patterns vaguely resembling faces and human figures. Worse still, behind the door there is a black spot almost exactly the size of a human being that is visible in the mirror when the door is closed, but just barely hinted at when it's still open.
The backyard is literally a swamp, thigh-deep salt marsh the year round where only the cold temperature and fish the government released into our water without asking keeping the mosquito population down. Lights from the distant houses, obscured by the trees, are sometimes visible in the water, reflecting from sources not visible to the eye, like ghostly lanterns beckoning one out into the bog.
We play in the basement mostly.
You know how the Supreme Court issued an opinion in that Citizen's United case? The one protesters were mad about because they stated that "corporations are people with protected speech"? Well the Supreme Court wasn't just blowing smoke. Corporations really are people. Some people have warped personalities. Some people with warped personalities are serial killers. There are a string of bodies buried throughout the tri-state area that would give homicide detectives one hell of a headache if they were ever found.
>>44757730
Wut?
>>44757846
Unknown Armies thread, I guess.
>>44757730
So yeah, corporations are people, and the force of law makes it true. Now all corporations have a presence, a man or woman, who answers to that name. Nobody can agree where they came from, but anyone who's persistent enough can find out where they went.
All of these corporation people currently reside in a large gated community outside Vicksburg, Mississippi, but you won't be allowed to get anywhere near it.
Supposedly if you kill one of these people, their corresponding corporation will go bankrupt within six months.
Governments have children draw hand turkeys in school to harvest their biometric data.
How do I go about representing Angels in-game without making them seem mundane and recognizable?
I guess Angel thread.
Hey I have another angel like that. Wonder where the rest of them are.
WotC has done something interesting.

I think they did this to make up for the fact they don't have a lot of people on 5e and most of their content for that is going to be Forgotten Realms. Thus they decided to prop 5e with a place where people make content and they decide what to sell it for.
Thoughts /tg/ ?
More stuff for something other than the Forgettable Realms is a good thing.
/5eg/ (>>44755420) has been pretty optimistic about it. There are a few "ugh homebrew" shitters and a little talk about the legal bits of putting it on DMs Guild, but mostly people seem optimistic about it. The OGL SRD means that the system's simple-yet-solid systems can be used freely by other designers without worry of legal ramifications, and that people who don't want to pay for the books can still play with the SRD alone.
Legally, it's important to remember that putting stuff on DMs Guild is an exclusivity agreement (you will only sell/redistribute that work on DMs Guild) and also that stuff put on there is covered under a pseudo-OGL (stuff that you post on DMs Guild can be used by other people for works posted on DMs Guild). So definitely only post stuff you're fine with other people using. Don't post your darling homebrew setting on there.
>>44757382
I'm personally really interested to see what comes out of the Dungeon Master's Guild. And I'm wondering how long it will take Paizo to swipe the 5e rules for Pathfinder: Second Edition.
>>44760941
>Don't post your darling homebrew setting on there.
DM's Guild is explicitly Forgotten Realms-only. Homebrew settings are the domain of the OGL.
Any diesel punk ideas, lads?
>>44757169
OK, how about this
You're on a plane.

How to make a warlike kingdom seem eerie without resorting to necromancy or demon worship? Make them forcefully turn captured people into some sort of technomagical battle servitor but with them being still fully aware and retaining their memories so they will see them killing their former comrades and burning their own towns and there's nothing they can do about it?
>>44757144
Aztecs.
>warlike kingdom
>eerie
I'm not sure that's the word you're looking for. Eerie is a special kind of creepy. Eerie is going through cities and towns where everything is perfectly intact, fires are still going in forges and everything is clear and not even dusty, but there's no living thing around, not even birds or burgs. Eerie is everyone you meet giving big toothy smiles all the time for no reason.
What you're looking for might be "creepy" or "evil".
>>44757144
Warlike and eerie are concepts that really mesh well anon.
>>44757249
This guy has it pretty spot on what eerie is, and warlike isn't that. Even being creepy I don't think is a good match up with warlike.
Bot eerie and creepy imply something hidden and sinister. Being warlike means being pretty openly aggressive.
I think your best bet, instead of trying to find something other than eerie is to find something other than warlike. Maye oppressive or isolationist and aggressive so that they do conquer areas from time to time, but you never hear anything about them or the area they took over afterwards.
So I want to get into 40k. There's a small group near me that meets up weekly and plays. The problem is I know the lore but literally nothing about the game. Where do I start? I'm also looking to do this as cheap as possible.
You don't
Speaking as someone with probobly over 25000 points
Don't

Find a small army on EBay from someone who just got married. Only way you're getting into this with any kind of financial dignity.
Alpharius here, ask me anything.
>>44755434
how many cocks do you suck daily?
>>44755434
Am I Alpharius?
Why won't you free Palestine?
Could someone give me different scenarios and explain how the different D&D alignments would act in that scenario? I'm retarded and not quite getting how different alignments would act.
If context helps I'm a new DM and want to know the baseline actions of various NPC's/Monsters based on their alignments or punishing players for going outside their alignment/codes (in the case of a paladin or something).
>>44754790
Alignments are almost never agreed upon. But I'll give you how I generally interpret each of them so maybe that will help.
>Lawful Good
The character is devoted both to doing the right thing and to making sure others do the right thing. Often times, as in the case of the Paladin, the LG character has authority to impose the law onto others, as long as the Law they impose is also Good. For this reason, a paladin can execute an unarmed prisoner rather than send him to the "proper authorities" because the Paladin IS the proper authority by virtue of his alignment.
>Neutral Good
I always saw this as "character is simply a good guy, and is not interested in causing any real changes to the status quo through either Law or Chaos". Their goals usually go beyond the people immediately around them.
>Chaotic Good
Character wants to do good things but knows the system doesn't work. A CG character is someone who wants to be a Paladin but doesn't have the authority of a Paladin. Think Batman.
>Lawful Neutral
Good soldiers follow orders. The character may be pessimistic or an idealist, but he's got a job to do and he's going to do it well.
>True Neutral
An odd one. I always saw TN as someone with a sense of morality completely alien to any observer.
>Chaotic Neutral
Rivals LG as one of the most hot-button alignments. Some people use it as an excuse to exercise pointless acts of destruction or violence. I hate that interpretation. A CN character looks out for number one. That means if anything he'll be adverse to starting shit he can't finish, and is much more likely to run away from a problem than face it. Think ANH Han Solo.
>Lawful Evil
I will get to the top by subjugating others.
>Neutral Evil
I will get to the top by doing whatever I want.
>Chaotic Evil
I will do whatever I want.
>>44754790
>Could someone give me different scenarios and explain how the different D&D alignments
the edition please
>>44754972
I disagree with this. A paladin would not kill an unarmed prisoner.
Lawful vs Chaotic is whether you prioritize the system or the individual. Good vs Evil is whether you prioritize yourself or others. Neutral is not having strong convictions one way or the other.
I'm trying to redownload the 4e CBloader program, after my hard drive crashed, and I can't seem to get it to work right. I followed the directions in the readme, but I'm missing a ton of options, like Healer/Battle Cleric's Lore(instead of having that option, it just goes straight from "Build" to "Deity")
Also, general 4e thread
Anyone got any good ways to make Paragon Multiclassing worth the effort?
>>44754017
Not sure what you mean by "Paragon multiclassing". Do you mean a multiclass feat, taken while in paragon, or a mutliclass based paragon path?

Try one of these character builders, they seemed to work for me.
If the Blood Ravens are loyalist remnants of the Thousand Sons, why don't they suffer from the same gene seed instability?
>>44753761
They obtained the cure as a "gift".
>>44753761
The rubric fixed it, wouldnt surprise if either the marines turning into dust only happened in the planet of sorcerers or that the loyalist 1ksons turned into dust but still had enough marines to found the new chapter with new recruits.
Because Tzeentch is a capricious dick-hole who is supressing their mutations so that the ravens csn continue running around "aquiring" other chapters artifcts. Up until they have every thing he needs to enact some grand ritual which uses the artifacts as focuses to affect all the loyalist founding chapters at once.
I was wondering if anyone had any tips for a new player to tabletop games. im going to be piloting the freighter and i want to steer clear of any new player mistakes.
>>44753610
Chargen is a dirty rotten trick. Invest in attributes over skills. You want to be rolling at least three dice in any situation.
Have fun with Edge of the Empire. Not a hard game. Check out the d6 Star Wars system at d6holocron.
>>44753653
>>44753653
yeah i was thinking i shouldve done that. my character is a rigger with 4 in agilty and a 3 in inteligence. but hes a droid so i ignored the rest. hes a rigger and i suped the ship all the way to the skill that allows me to burn fate to keep the ship from being destroyed. i should have put more into my attributes
Post maps what for fighting on.
I'll dump some post-apoc.
How do you work with wounds in your games? The idea of that Orc berserker playing noughts and crosses on the fighter's chest and the wound being fully healed after a night's sleep is ludicrous.
>>44752242
Its not ludicrous in a world of magick and sorcery
going "too real" with wound systems is boring and hurts campaign progression
>>44752277
Even so, what justification could one use for the healing magic involved if the cleric's all out of spells?
Not questioning it as a gameplay mechanic, just trying to make it slightly more immersive.
>>44752307
people/things in this world heal faster?
I mean the mechanic doesn't apply to one thing, stuff like that applies to everyone and everything in the world
maybe the winds of magic are in the very air, empowering even the common folk slightly
Master does this unit have a soul?
>>44751308
You have both soul and machine spirit intertwined, the most pure of both parts.
>>44751308
No. You will never unite with the Emperor. Get back to work.
>>44751308
Yes, that's the point. AI does not have a soul so chaos can take it over more easily- souls faithful to the God Emperor resist with His guidance.
