So /tg/ i've noticed that there really is a lack of material for /tg/ related Native American lore, art & games as well as generally a lack of American (North/Central/South) mythology that permeates a lot of modern fantasy. And normally when it does it's mingled with the Anglo-american/european influence

I'm building up a folder for a game i'm going to be running regarding an several tribes along the Mississippi & an apocalyptic event as well as another game regarding trade wars along the Rio Grande. So far all i can find /tg/ related are a few Mayan & Aztec CYOA's & splats

That & admittedly i love the idea of stone weapons & tools being high quality gear while actual iron tools would be the stuff of legends.

The only monsters that come to mind that have actually appeared in fantasies & gaming are probably thunderbirds & Windingos. Then again i'll admit to know knowing much about native american myths or monsters.

The inuit have a few cool creatures. But you can always count on people who live in an area of purpetual harshness & misery to come up with some cool shit.
Qalupalik hang out near the water wearing baby carrying parka & steal away children who stray away from home or gather too near to open water without escort.

So I've been playing X-Wing for a couple months now, put in a decent number of games running a list of 4 TIES + whatever else. Sometimes two interceptors, sometimes Vader in his Advanced. Also got the Shuttle because it's cool. I've won an okay number of games but I'm almost positive I've lost a lot more often than I've won. Any general tips for improving my game?

Also I want to try out this list because I have a hardon for Interceptors.

Probably the most disappointing part of any medieval-period film is the part where a castle is besieged and the attackers have no problem getting in. This is always made worse by the fact that enormous castle walls get brought down by fucking catapults of all things, despite this pretty much never happening before gunpowder artillery.

On the other hand, I feel like a fantasy setting could handle a siege in ways that are far less predictable and additionally provide more leeway for ridiculously powerful siege engineering. It could also lead to some immensely stupid oversights, like that bit in Lord of the Rings where the Uruks bring pikes to take Helm's Deep and never fucking use them.

What would be some interesting ways of getting into a castle in a fantasy setting where sorcery is possible?

Also what kind of defenses would arise in said castles as a way of combating these tactics?

Are there interesting alternatives that don't simply mimic gunpowder artillery (which could collapse castle walls)?

Use the bricks of the wall to make a golem and basically have the wall walk away.
Use illusion magic to scare soldiers off the walls.

An extremely competent pyromancer could melt the wall, causing it to flow away. This would also give the defenders time to put up a second line of defence while the molten rock cools down (to speed this up, the attackers could throw water over the rock).

Whenever I run a dungeon of my own creation, I never actually plan a way for the players to solve the puzzles or get past obstacles.
Ususally I just have them fuck around until they do something that amuses me enough that I feel like letting them past.

Dawn breaches early, a soft tickling on the back of my neck, warm breathing.

Instinctively, I slap at it, moving away, only to divert my hand at the last moment, remembering I’m in bed.

Kara shifts in her sleep, lips smacking softly and face scrunching for a few moments, as I slowly pull myself away from her, slipping out of the sheets. Mr Johnson won’t be happy if he finds her in here, less so if he’d seen me under the sheets. Still… she looks to peaceful to wake, at least for now. Besides, it’s a few hours until my master usually wakes.

Sighing, I let her get some more sleep, easing the windows open to let some air in, I pull out a few more books and start hastily scribbling some more notes.

About an hour in, she bolts upright, long ears twitching, eyes wide. “Someone’s coming up the path towards the house.” She tells me, yawning quietly. “No, two people, and an animal with them. I think it might be a dog? Whatever it is, it’s not happy, ‘sbeing dragged along and scratching at the ground something fierce.”

Also, this is basically Not-̶y̶e̶t̶-̶ serial killer Nygma. One of my Werewolves is an Irakka Storm Lord working as a GCPD detective, with Nygma as his Wolfblooded and sidekick.

Instead of making planets of warriors, planet of scholars etc. Divide the planets by regions with competing cultures. The only constant being the planet itself.

No. Not really.

Actually, keeping sci-fi and sci-fantasy within a single star system resolves a lot of problems inherent to sci-fi, like what happens when your players ask "what happens when we ram our faster than light ship into a planet?"

Interstellar travel generally tends to serve very little purpose in most settings where it's included; often simply an excuse to show far-off places that just wind up being like nearby places anyway, or a reason to show strange aliens, or isolate a ship/crew from their home to create tension.

Many series and sci-fi settings are set in individual star systems.

All you really have to do is make sure that you include everything you need for the underlying narrative within the system, and you're good.

Between this and the outroar about the entire Judge spoiler banning thing, alongside other fiascos in this past year, I decided I no longer want to support WOTC. They're just essentially treating their playerbase like shit. Now don't get me wrong I own a handful of Legacy and Modern staples, like Lillys, Snaps, Tarmos, Fetches and even some Duals, so I'm not salty about this. I'm salty that I won't be able to play Legacy with people now because A) WOTC refuses to reprint ridiculously priced cards or cards in the reserved list so Legacy becomes more accessible and B) They now axed proxies, which was the alternative for poorfags to play Legacy.

Since they don't seem to care for me and they are actively wanting to kill all formats but Standard and Limited, I won't be supporting them anymore. So, does anyone know about where to buy extremely good counterfeits? Things that could pass for the real thing even in a sanctioned tournament when subjected to close scrutiny? I know they exist, but I haven't had the need to buy them until now. Thanks in advance

I want to play, I just don't want to give them my money anymore. I'll keep the original cards and staples I have of course, but from now on and until they change their policies I'll just be buying counterfeits. Also the only "legal action" they could take is banning me from play.
