Maybe try working out you guys. When you feel your absolute worst, stop everything and do something that you wouldn't ever do: hit the gym. Exhaust yourself to a near stupor and bathe in the endorphin rush after. It's only then you realize that if you take your mind away from your misery, you can actually recover and feel good for once.
Along with that, you can also get a decent body if you make it a habit. I just started working out a few days ago. Maybe this is the answer?
