A comfortable middle class life? Sure. Go into engineering, preferably one of the harder subfields, then study like some demented Korean for 4-6 years.

2005 reporting in. It's a very different place, everyone takes themselves so damn seriously and you can't just be stupid or silly without getting called a troll or something. That goes for pretty much everywhere though, online and off. And yes, I'd go back to 2005 in a heartbeat, though mostly for reasons unrelated to 4chan.

The absolute worst thing is that chan "culture" leaked out and infected the rest of the internet. You really can't appreciate the effect this had without having browsed both 4chan and regular forums and seen the change for yourself. Around 2007 is when I first started noticing other internet forums start adopting the lingo and memetic crap and taking it at face value.
