What is the idea behind the UKs Trident submarines?
If only one sub is at sea at any one time surely that is not enough to deter an attacker? Russia or China could absorb the payload from one sub right?
They only have like 220 nukes total too.
Each sub currently carries 8 missiles with a maximum of 40 warheads. Each warhead is approx 5x as powerful as the bomb dropped on Nagasaki. So maybe they could take the payload but would have to be willing to say goodbye to quite a few of their cities.

China is generally defensive minded, the only time you'll be scared if America does something stupid and goes on the offensive while pinning it on China, then that's when you should be scared. Guns are hard to get in NYC. If you already have one, import laws are a pain. It'll take a little while for your gun to arrive.
My sister carries a small pepper spray thing on her keys and in her purse, and she lives in a fairly bad neighborhood (bed sty) and she's been fine. Though, I don't think anyone has attacked her.
