I have a question /k/, why did so few countries use shotguns for combat historically? It seems really only the US used shotguns during WWI and WWII? Why didn't anybody else see the utility in them?
51 posts and 7 images submitted.
>>
>>28714913
They're not very good in combat and aside from 'scaring people' and breeching, they were an inferior choice compared to just having an SMG (as in back during World War One and Two).
>>
>>28714913
That thing is pure sex.

There was an episode of Tales from the Gun that mentioned the Europeans saw shotguns as something upper class twits used to kill birds. Where in America they were used for survival. Basically, everyone but Americans saw it as an ungentlemanly gun. Pretty sure they even mentioned the Germans in WWI threatened to execute anyone prisoners caught with them.
>>
>>28714913
Shotguns hurt the Europeans delicate shoulders so they weren't very popular with them, they prefered smaller cartridges

What's the loudest firearm I can get for under $1,000. I want something that'll make people move over a few stalls when I'm shooting at the range. Pic related is my choice for loudest handgun. Can you think of something louder?

30-06 carbine with a muzzle brake or just a black powder cap and ball gun if it's an outdoor range.

It's only shilled because it's significantly cheaper than actual ceramics. Everyone on /k/ are poorfags.

Do you really think anyone here is willing to pay $400-$500 for a piece of metal that will potentially save your life? Did you really try to get into buying gear?

Fuck yeah you did but you're gonna compromise like a faggot and get condor so it doesn't matter.

Because its really not good enough.
Even if it wasn't penetrated by m193, the spall issues are bad enough. Because of spalling steel is not multihit. It's worse protection. It's heavier. There's no multicurve options. Ceramics have come down so much in price. $150 for armorwear, $180 for bulletproofme. No reason to be wearing steel anymore

Let's talk glass /k/, and while, we're at it, iron sights.
Things like
>do you like 3 dot, ball in bucket, 1 dot, or no paint iron systems more?
>variable vs fixed scopes
>how important is illumination in a scope, really

My big question is micro vs full sized aimpoint and aimpoint style red dots. In my location, red dots or low power scopes are king.

I've used aimpoint comp m4 in the guard, and I'm using a micro t-1 I borrowed from a friend right now. Eventually, I'm going to have to return this red dot. But when I do that, I'm not sure if I'll go pick up another t-1, or get a full sized aimpoint pro.

Now, the last time I did real shooting with a comp m4 was OSUT. I've had acog equipped m4s by chance everytime Ive shot with them.

Besides weight, what do I really lose with full sized red dots? I had no trouble nailing the 300 yard target in OSUT even though I has never shot a lot of ar15 and never with red dots before, but with the t-1, the dot seems fuzzy, and it seems to change depending on the time of day almost.

Finally, if I did decide to go full sized red dot, a new aimpoint pro, or a eBay comp m4?

Any other anons have their guns engraved? Local shop just got a laser and is only charging $25 for engravings so I gave it a go. Just replaced my PTR-32's polymer stock with a wooden one, so decided to have some fun.

PTR-32 has the same stock and hand guard as the PTR-91. Besides, I like the engraving and I loooove the wood furniture (that replaced this) that I spent a week stripping, staining and re-finishing.

/k/, I just had an idea.
Antifunz say that "Common Sense" gun laws are worth it if they save just one life.
Here's an interesting situation:

A terrorist walks into a crowded concert hall with bombs and an illegal machine gun. It's illegal for citizens to own guns in this country. There are, say a hundred people in there, but nobody has a gun. The attacker has no resistance, and 100 people die. France, anybody?

Now let's say we give the audience opposite circumstances.

Let's say we give 15% of the audience MAC - 10's, and another 15% compact pistols, because any citizen of this hypothetical country can legally own a machine gun.
The shooter still is able to kill a few people, shortly before being turned into a bloody mess by the ensuing hail of .45 ACP. People still die, but many more have been saved by the citizenry with machine guns.

Therefore, if we have almost nonexistent gun laws, it will save many lives from mass shootings. This is because everybody that the shooter attacks will be able to shoot back, and with greater or equal force, due to the average Joe having just as much firepower as anybody else.

>>28708415
Anti gunners don't function on logic, and the money backers pushing this shit don't care about saving lives. It's all about control in the end.

To operate on their level is pointless. You should try that again, but add more pathos.
>>
>>28708415
Fighting them is worthless.
They have egalitarian socialist compassion of "Will to Nothing".
>>
>>28708415
So the shooter starts shooting. Person A shoots back. Person B is not sure which is the good guy and which is the bad guy and shoots at Person A. Person C shoots Person B shooting at Person B and assumes that Person B is the bad guy. Person D and Person E are friends with Person B and so they shoot at Person C. Then you have all of the other people being hit by bullets flying around everywhere.
