I've got a recipe book that was printed back in 1968. There's a butterscotch cake recipe which has "1/2 teaspoon spice" in the ingredients list.

Anyone have any idea what this is likely to be?

Mostly cinnamon with some combo of cloves, allspice, nutmeg, ginger and/or cardamom. The usual gang of idiots. Use pumpkin pie/apple pie spice if you got it, or mix the aforementioned spices to your preference.

1 cup brown sugar
4 ozs. butter
3 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 tablespoon golden syrup
1 1/2 cup self-raising flour
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon spice
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Put sugar in a basin and warm - melt butter and mix with sugar. Add unbeaten egg yolk, golden syrup, cinnamon, spice, and vanilla. Add milk and flour in small quantities. Lastly add beaten egg whites and fold into mixture. Medium oven - 30 minutes.

anyone have any idea on what would be a better topping for a pizza?

i'm stuck at a cross between bacon and jalapeno or bacon and banana peppers

I never normally order banana peppers. I can't even remember what they taste like.

Instead of using authentic meme tomato sauce, I use curry sauce instead then put the cheese on top of that. My favorites are spicy tikka and korma, but there's dozens to try. And the best part is, any meat goes amazingly well with them, not just chicken.

Spicy tikka with garlic sausage is god tier.

banana peppers are just crunchy vinegar rings. i mean that's really good and now i'm salivating uncontrollably but

i think banana peppers are better as a third topping, that's all.

Meat: Looks moist. Seasoned the correct amount. Some charing, will assume pan cooked.

Potatoes: Red potatoes are hard to judge in consistency from an image because of the lack of starch. Simply my perspective from the image they seem like they're slightly undercooked and could use just a little more seasoning.

Bell & Onion: You obviously cooked these at the same time. Onion cooks faster than Bell, so while your onions are at the beginning stages of caramelizing your Bell will be undercooked. Seasoning looks fine.

Plating: Could be better. That offset mustard yellow color is just disgusting. I see flakes from the seasoning and juices from the chicken all over. Presentation of the food could have been plated better too. Not going to score many points here.

Score: 6/10

Pros:
-Moist chicken
-Proper protein, carb and veggie mix
-Nothing looks overdone
-Everything seasoned

Cons:
-The seasoning is consistent over every piece of food, which looks like the same type of seasoning on everything. The flavors will all taste the same; there's no variety.
-Plating could be a lot better; nothing special was done except for slopping it all onto a plate and calling it a day
-Potatoes and Bell may be undercooked, but hard to judge from a picture alone

Would eat, -might- enjoy.

potatoes turned out fine. I don't roast potatoes often and was surprised how they turned out. bells were a tad undercooked, good observation. it was the first plate I grabbed. I did just put it on the plate and eat desu. And I did use different seasonings on everything. I hate when everything tastes exactly the same.

Ey /ck/, two hours ago I cut some habaneros and jalapenos for a chili sauce. I washed my hands about a dozen times and even did the dishes in the meantime, but they still burn.
What's worse, my nose hurts because I had to scratch it half an hour ago. I had something in my eye and couldn't get it out because of my spicy fingers. I can't even fap because I'm afraid of burning my dick to a crisp. My fingers are full of tiny wounds and every single one of them burns like gonorrhea.
What do?

I had a freshly made everything spiced bagel from a place just down the street, toasted with a thick layer of chive cream cheese on each half. The fillings are baby spinach, pickle and olive loaf, tomato slices, and alfalfa sprouts.
