Anybody here bake? I'm not much of a baker but I just recently got a bunch of Wilton frosting tips from amazon. Gonna make a batch of cupcakes soon and frost them like pic related, which seems to be easy enough.

My favorites are italian bread and gingerbread.
I like making my version of cake salé. It's like a savoury scone/cake/cupcake, with cheese, ham, peppers, sweetcorn, mushrooms, chicken, etc.. The secret is 3/4 can of condensed mushroom soup, which makes it not so crumbly, and very light and moist. You can throw pretty much anything you have in it.
For bonus points, you can top it with an improvised coconut frosting that has the lightness and texture of whipped cream (but uses no sugar) from cornstarch, canned coconut milk/cream, and butter.

I dont know anything about that. But what I can tell you is that I am no friend of artificial sweeteners. For example when I take a standard no-sugar chewing gum the first sensation I get is thirst. Strong thirst, no matter if I just drank 1 liter of water. It's from the sweetener. This cannot be healthy.

What's the worst restaurant you've ever eaten at?
For me, it's far and wide Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville in Niagara Falls. The whole place reeked of vomit and there was a 40 something meth addict in stilts making sketchy balloon animals. The margaritas were 12 bucks and piss weak, and the food was literally microwaved chicken on frozen vegetables.

The one thing that makes no sense to me is eating sweet shit first thing in the morning (french toast, pancakes/waffles with maple syrup, pastries). If I'm going to eat dessert food I'll wait till I'm drunk, not right after I roll out of bed.
