I have:

Leek
Broccoli
Red chili pepper
Chopped mushrooms
Canned octopus
Oyster sauce

Will this make a decent stir fry? What should I add? I know very little about cooking.

yeah it actually will IMO

with some garlic

THAT OCTOPUS IS NOT CANNED
WARNING
OP IS A LIAR
>>
Not really, no. Not with the 'pus as the star, anyway. Canned 'pus is best eaten as a salad ingredient.
With leeks and 'shrooms plus a few other ingredients, you can make a mushroom gravy to eat with rice and/or mashed potatoes. Also some meat.

Flour, 2tbsp
Oil, 2tbsp
Leek, chopped, 1
Mushrooms, chopped, washed and squeezed of excess moisture, compacted half cup
Salt, as needed
Stock, 1 cup

In SS pan, cook flour and oil together at high heat, stirring constantly with a wooden utensil, until about a shade or two lighter than milk chocolate.
Off the heat and stir in the leeks, mushrooms and a good sprinkling of salt; keep stirring until the sizzling stops.
Up the heat back to high and beat in the stock, whisking to dissolve the flour paste.
Allow to cook down to desired thickness, then serve over meat and rice or mashed potatoes.

Have some sautéed broccoli as a side dish:
Water, as needed
Broccoli, 200g
Oil, as needed
Garlic, sliced, 1-2 cloves
Chilli, sliced, as desired
Salt, as needed

Boil the water.
Chop the broccoli and boil 1 minute, then drain and rinse under cold, running water until the broccoli is cool to the touch.
Put oil, garlic and chilli into a sauté and set to high heat; when fragrant, add broccoli and sauté a minute or two to desired doneness.
Salt to taste and serve.

My roommate works at JJ's and brings home a lot of the left over subs about once a week.
Is it just me, or do the sub's bread taste like pizza dough? I like it, very unique.

Why is Spanish food not given the same recognition that French or Italian cuisine is? In my opinion it's the best European cuisine. It combines Mediterranean, Arabic, and Hispanic influences into one. Plus, them and Portugal are the only Eurokeks with a backbone who actually stand up to the new invasion of Europe by muzzies.

First off, among people who know about food Spanish is absolutely considered to be world-class. El Bulli was the best restaurant in the world until it closed. There are many Spanish restaurants in the top 50.

As for the average joe? Probably because it's not very accessible, nor is there a classic work available in English (that I know of, anyway). English translations of classic French works like Careme, Escoffier, etc, have been available for years and years. Yet their equivalents in Spanish, Chinese, Russian, etc, simply aren't available, and thus the understanding of the cuisine suffers.
>>
>all those shells in rice

How the fuck do you eat that?
>>
>>7042373
Pick up the shrimp. Peel the tail and eat the meat. Suck the head. Discard remains. Eat the rice, etc, with knife and fork.

my mom and brother went gluten free too
I told them not to expect me to cater to them if i'm cooking

I'd rather live on salads than gluten free shit. Same goes for water and diet soda.
>>
The best thing is when they slap the gluten free label on shit that's gluten free anyway, like meat or vegetables.

I like my yogurts, I'll eat low fat, 0 fat, greek style. I don't mind.
However, does anyone else find it hard to find a plentiful variety of full fat yogurts? Feels like there's less choice and less stock wherever I go.
Don't get me wrong, the 0% yogurts are still nice, but you can't beat a nice full fat yogurt.

yeah

yeo valley are usually reliable for full fat yoghurts but other than that it's always 0% or 1% everywhere

it's got to be fat

Make your own.

1. Buy gallon of whole milk
2. Buy plain whole milk yogurt with active cultures (pic related)
3. Heat milk in double boiler to 185 deg
4. Cool milk to 110 deg
5. Add anywhere from 1/4 to 1/2 cup of yogurt
6. Insulate container with blankets / whatever to maintain heat in order to allow the cultures to work on the milk.
7. Leave it alone over night.
8. The next day you will have a gallon of plain whole milk yogurt.

Keep about a cup set aside, and when you start to get low, all you need to do is buy milk and use your own yogurt to make more.

Pic unrelated, first off.

I have a 2 lb bag of those tiny "salad shrimp". I was going to make shrimp salad rolls, but the temp has dropped and it's only 40°F here, so I'm kind of wanting something warm to eat for lunch, not cold.
Anyone have some good recipes or ideas for a hot meal using salad shrimp?
