how much do you care about food ?
I mean you need it to live and all but how much do you care about it ?
my serious view is if your food is bad you don't deserve to open a restaurant/stand/anything food related
don't waste anyones time or money or your own if you have shitty fucking food period
if it was financially viable for me all i would do is grow food, tend to and eat from the bountiful perennial/annual mostly edible landscapes i've created over the years... that would be dope AF. like hmmm what do i want to eat today "walk around my 15 acres for 45 minutes and come back with a bunch of stuff to feast on" not to mention the process of preserving it all in the fall and raising and slaughtering animals stuffing your freezer full of a year or two worth of meat. ya something like that if i could, if i were a millionare it would be something like that....

Who /Pho/ here?
Are there any good Pho places around you?
What meat do you prefer in your Pho?
What additional seasoning do you put in your Pho?
We have a few decent places around town. There's a lot of them in chinatown, but most of them are meh. I like raw beef, cooked flank, tendon and tripe not a huge fan of the rubber balls they claim have meat in them. I'll put basil, sprouts and chiles if they're available, otherwise chili paste or sriracha, in that order of preference. Fuck hoisin.
Bun bo hué once in a while too, that shit is cash

>Are there any good Pho places around you?
Only one place that I know of. They treat me like shit. Probably because I'm white. I haven't been back.
>What meat do you prefer in your Pho?
I like the sliced brisket or whatever it is.

Is this coffee really worth $15 a can, or is it some sort of meme?
>>7036340
It's fairly common in the UK. For a 250g tin we would pay ÂŁ6.50/$10.
I used to drink it a lot because there was a little greasy spoon cafe close to my university in central London, surrounded by Costa and Starbucks and they served this for ÂŁ1 for a single espresso.
It isnt amazing coffee, but its not terrible. For ÂŁ10/$15, I could pick up something considerably better though.
>>7036410
A pound of beans from my local roaster is $7. So yeah, not the best for the price.
>>7036553
I typically go to Whittard of Chelsea, which is fairly expensive, but they have a nice selection as well as loose leaf teas. Prices are typically ÂŁ3-ÂŁ5 for 100-125g.
If you want to spend a lot of coffee, buy some jamaican blue mountain.
What do you think of this sandwich, /ck/?
10memes/10
is that pulled pork with coleslaw on it?
>>7036330
Meh-tier bun
Slaw appears unseasoned
very little sauce on the pulled pork
I don't see any bark or much evidence of a smoke ring so the pork was probably cooked in a slow-cooker or oven rather than being smoked.
4/10.
Hi /ck/ I am on a trip to India right now and I thought you'd like to see what I'm having for lunch. It's authentic Indian curry! Yum

Alright cu/ck/s I want to try making pizza from scratch, what is a good pizza sauce recipe?
I'm a flyover so if any New Yorkers can give some tips thanks senpai
Tomato puree
1 tsp salt
1 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp sugar
Ground black pepper
1 tbsp evo
You can use pretty much any tomato sauce, you just want to puree it.
There's a million ways to make one. I usually sautee some minced onion and garlic, then add in a large can of crushed tomatoes, a good helping of tomato paste, a splash of red wine and season with red pepper, black pepper, basil, oregano and thyme. It's pretty hard to fuck up and you can add other vegetables or seasonings to your preference. Since you're going to spread it on a pizza, you want it on the thinner side.
Simmer for a while, let it cool and then take a stick blender to it.

it's more to do with the chemical composition of the water that makes specific doughs unique. NYC's water come from the Hudson Valley and The Catskill region, which is really just Glacier fed run-off from further up North in Canada.
On its way down to the Hudson Valley and the Catskill regions it picks up elements very unique to the area, hence... the flavor, texture, and consistency cannot be matched. Ever.
I've heard of restaurants shipping water from the area across the continent...
