I've been on a mission recently to find the perfect carbonara recipe. It seems every chef does it differently and it's hard to find two recipes that agree.
How do you do it /ck/?
Do you use whole eggs or just the yolk? Cream or no cream? Regular bacon or smoked? What kind of pasta do you use? What kind of cheese? Do you add anything else like peas, mushrooms, etc. or do you like to keep it simple?
Is there an objectively superior method?
I should say that I'm not that interested in what anyone thinks is 'authentic' carbonara...

Hey /ck/, complete and utter newfag here. I'm a poorfag who wanted to go to olive garden, but can't because i'm fucking poor as dirt, so I found this recipe:

These strange salads that are smothered in cheese, mayonnaise, and/or ranch dressing. It just looks so disgusting
Not me but I do like to look at them on occasion and wonder the same thing.
I can't eat it. Every time I put it in my mouth it makes me gag. Even the smell.
When I have a salad it's just spinach or romaine, croutons, freshly shredded parmesan and zesty olive oil n vinegar dressing.
