Seems to be in pretty good condition, came with a cover. Guy I got it from said he only used it twice, before he got a much bigger and more expensive one.

I've never been somewhere where they sells ribs individually. Once I get some work in, I'll let you know.

That was my thought. I'd been looking on craigslist for a while now and for much smaller I was finding them going for $50 minimal.

I'll also really lucky that the house we just moved into is covered with three giant pecan trees. At some point I'm going to trim them back and I'm looking forward to using the branches I've collected already.

Brined and smoked turkey is fucking delicious. A friend of mine smoked a turkey a few years ago, it was excellent, but I still prefer his fried turkey.

He also smoked a prime rib roast a couple years ago around Christmas. That was fucking outstanding.

Every boston butt I've ever bought had a bone.

What the fuck are you even talking about, aside from obviously shitposting just to incite an argument for your own amusement.

Do I have to break a hundred?...

Its all new to me so I've been researching a few brines and kinda getting a basic one down. Still unsure of what wood to use. I've got apple wood but going to get a general idea of what most people use.

Apple, hickory, mesquite, pecan, oak, maple are all pretty common. You can honestly use pretty much any hardwood, ideally some kind of fruit or nut tree since it will usually pick up a subtle flavor or whatever grows on it. Really depends a lot on what's common and easy to get in your area, that's what you'll find the most of at a reasonable price.
