How does that happen? Aren't the airlines supposed to provide you with accommodation? Or is this the result of your planned itinerary?

Go to Tennessee. Not faggot Memphis but Eastern side to the Smoky Mountains. It's the only free National Park...well.. in the nation! Big Ridge in Union County above Knoxville has a Beautiful hike on a mountain next to a lake with some fantastic forest scenery. but gimme a sec and I'll post a map with the route I think you should take (generally) itll be a long trip though
>>
>>1095671
It'll be a long trip. Probably 3 days of driving at the minimum. If you're passing through Texas, stop at a Buc-ee's if you see one. They're pretty great. Uhh... gee I dunno. I did a comparable trip not too long ago. Georgia to Arizona. I'm not sure what advice to impart besides common sense stuff. Like if you get tired, just pull your ass over and sleep at a rest area. Keep right except to pass, etc, etc. If you don't have a AAA membership, get one. It might save your ass and you'll...

It depends on which part of California and if you want to do scenic routes, touristy see the sights stuff, or just get there as quick as you can. I would say take the I-40 straight across the nation with would land you about 45 minutes NE from Los Angeles. My family has gone across there many many times. The roughest part is from Arizona to Eastern California where there is a stretch where there is 1 gas station and a weird knock-off dairy queen and literally nothing but a state penitentiary for miles. but the 40 is...

Sochi is the first thing to came to mind.

I believe it was first made famous when it was frequented by the Russian monarchy for Summer holidays. And of course, more recently with the Olympics debacle. There is still some stuff to see there, most notably the new Sochi Park amusement park with its decent set of roller coasters, but overall I would rather skip it and just stick with Moscow and St. Petersburg. There is actually a better amusement park in St. Petersburg called Wonder Island (I believe it has the best roller coaster ensemble in all of Russia). As for parks...

>I heard some people liked the trans-siberian railway but I've also heard that it was just a boring train ride.

It might be interesting for you to ride in 3rd class and meet Russian people. However, you might also hate people (or at least, Russian people), especially if you get stuck with a bunch of shithead alcoholics or young army conscripts.

You might also want to ride in 1st class with a friend/partner and enjoy it in relative privacy. Either way, doing it soon...

>>

Smoking in public spaces may be forbidden in certain places, even if it's outside. I don't really have a lot to recommend as I only went there for a conference and visiting a university. Taipei is pretty cool, but I wish I was there on a holiday instead.

Taipei seemed more quiet and relaxed than other smaller places (I don't really like the activity of the markets at night in smaller cities).

I am a girl from Canada. A week ago, I realised that I was selected for a three-week exchange trip to Germany. I have an online friend whom I've been talking to for more than 2 years and he lives very close to Munich. My uni does not offer any exchange opportunities to Munich so I picked Berlin , but I plan to stay behind and travel to Munich and other German cities later on.

My parents are thinking about joining me after visiting Berlin. I think it is awkward if they come along when meeting an online friend. I don't have any German friends irl, so I cannot...

I'm sure you have a decent gauge of the dude's character after two years. But ooh, yeah, it's a sticky situation. My two cents is that truth is always the best policy.
Or if you lie you could say "remember when my friend X spent a year abroad in Germany? You don't? Well while she was there she met this really nice guy and she's asked him to show me around the place..."

Semesters abroad should be something you could get from any uni in your country and be applicable to your degree wouldn't it? Check that out too.

I grew up on IRC in tech channels, and have a seriously close set of friends numbering in the dozens still over 20 years later. I felt that it would be awkward too to have online friends meet family like they weren't "real friends" or...

Let me green text my current situation

> 25 yo
> mechanical engineer
> been depressed for years
> without job but almost 1 year of experience

I'm sick of this situation. I’m from Spain and it’s impossible to find a fucking job here (unemployment rate for young people is almost 50% kek).
I want to leave this fucking country asap. I would like to find a job abroad, and if it’s possible, related with my studies. I’m thinking of going for example to Ireland or UK (or USA why not?) and live in a hostel until I find a suitable job. I know this process can last from some weeks to several months but I don’t care as long as it helps me to put my shit together.
I would like to work in the hostel where I live in exchange for free accommodation until I find a job. Do you think it’s feasible or it’s retarded?

Please help me sharing similar experiences.

The Spanish have a reputation for being lazy. Why can't you get a job in McDonalds or a coffee shop to save up money until you find something better?

You can't just decide to move to the USA and go. You need to sponsored by a company for a H1B visa or else marry an American. Don't bother moving to Ireland or the UK. The blacks and Muslims have already taken all the jobs at hostels and coffee shops etc.
>>
>>1094502
>until I find a job
No. Find a job before you go somewhere, doing it in reverse is far more risky.
>>
>Ireland to find a job
Good idea, or Greece.

Can Spanish citizens get working holiday visas for New Zealand or Australia? It only allows you to work for six months, but you can definitely get a high-paying engineering job with a contractor, and if you're good you might even get a sponsorship for a proper work visa.

Travelling can easily cost less than $150 per week. Save some money and it's so simple. I recently travelled around Europe for 11 weeks and it cost me just over $2000 for everything, and I was drinking 2-4 times a week and eating out the majority of the time. I couchsurfed a fair amount but I never hitchiked.

Hey /trv/, I've got a few questions that maybe you guys can answer without me having to call immigration office.

I'm an american looking to move to canada, and while I've done a lot of research online recently, there is a lot of conflicting information. This also goes when asking the couple canadians I'm friends with, but I wouldn't expect them to be experts on moving to their own country.

So, how hard/easy is it, aside from the paperwork and general hoops to jump through, how hard would it be to land a job before moving, etc etc?

It's a big country, economy is doing ok (but just), east coast is poor, central and west are doing alright, Alberta is dealing with recession.

PR is granted on a points-based system. You get more points for being younger, bilingual, well-educated in a desirable field, and employed in a needed industry. Your post provides none of that.

And no, don't get your hopes up that you'll arrive, land...

In my experience it's essentially impossible.

Two of my friends (married, both under 30, with masters degrees in geology, living in Alberta), applied for permanent residency after living as students for four years, then working for another two years. It took them 1 year to hear back from the Canadian government and both were rejected.

I'm an international myself (English), and I've only ever heard of other Commonwealth'ers getting PR after a similar experience as above (4 years...

Do you have a in demand masters? If no, incredibly. Canada has a reciprocal working visa for under 30s with a bunch of countries. America isn't part of this. So the crappy jobs can just employ other foreigners and do less paperwork.

What's your education and current employment?

I turn 30 this year. My birthday is in October, and I want to go to Boracay.

Here's the dilemma: I know October is the best time for sunsets, I'm just worried about weather being shit/white beach not being idyllic, as it's still low season.

Is the weather and water in October decent or should I just wait until Christmas and New Years?

Sounds like TSA. Those people get angry at passengers when they break the rules because all those cameras in the check point are actually watching the employees, not the passengers.

If the cameras catches an employee skipping a step of the procedure or doing it wrong they can be fired on the spot.

Still, they shouldn't treat people like cattle.
>>
>>1092821
What so the little hand wipes do? I have only encountered it in the Prague airport when my metal boots kept setting off the security machine. They wiped my hands and the inside of my carry on bag then just threw it away.
>>
>>1092904
The wipes are supposed to catch any microscopic explosive material residue and the machine they place the wipes into scans for the materials.

The problem is that some of the explosive material the machine scans for are also found in gardening, landscaping or bullets.
