European women, Slavic in particular, aren't too fond of blacks. If you're african american you might have better luck. There's definitely a type of women that will go for africans but they're not very.. attractive. That doesn't mean you're doomed. If you're charming and a nice person your skin colour shouldn't matter.
Me and my friend want to travel the world going treasure hunting, but we have no skills or money. If I had to list our best qualities, I'd say I'm pretty creative and can tell jokes, and he has a high speech stat and can pick up new skills quickly if he wants to but usually doesn't. Anyone have any tips on taking over a ship so we can get free transport?

So I'm in Canada right now, and I'm leaving back to the US tomorrow. I just looked at my passport and there's black marker covering the last digit of my birth year. I don't know how this shit got on there, but it wasn't there when I was coming in. I tried washing it off but I think it's permanent. Will this fuck me over as I try to leave the country? What do I do in Athens?
For whatever reason I chose to fly out of Athens for my trip but after some research it seems like the only thing worth doing here is Plaka.

It's true. Athens might have been a big deal once, but there isn't much to do or see nowadays. If you like ancient history stuff there are tons of better places in Greece you can visit.

Recent college grad here with about 2 weeks left to enjoy myself before entering the workforce. I've got about $600-700 to spend on a trip, and I'd love your guys input on it. I'm down for some place to self-reflect and challenge myself; I've studied abroad in Spain and traveled quite a bit, so a destination that's less touristy is preferred.
I was thinking maybe a road-trip to visit friends in DC, then Boston, and NYC. Otherwise, maybe Toronto? I really don't know how to pick and choose options.

There's certainly plenty to do in DC every day of the year, festival/museum/restaurant and historic wise. But summer in ANY mid-Atlantic to Northeastern city is miserable. Go now, and the more northern the better. Go look at the weather forecast and see if you would enjoy pounding the pavement for 12 hours of sightseeing. Hanging out in some dudes houses? Air conditioned car to air-conditioned buildings in suburbia? Manhattan? No. Boston? No. Smithsonians? Go early, leave late. That's not so bad.
Post your region maps of which places you have visited yet, exchange travel stories, discuss odd picks and the obligatory anon who's been to Greenland, Bhutan, or some other exotic place, and start coloring your own maps.

Finishing Sixth Form in a few months, so I'll have a great amount of time to work across this year and save up for a trip next year. Though I have penned a potential, subject-to-change, route across Eastern Europe I've recently been interested in some other countries.
I guess my question is: Should I pursue backpacking across Eastern Europe, or, should I visit countries on separate trips but expand my reach to other continents? On these hypothetical single-country trips, I would aim to explore each country exhaustively.

Absolutely it can suck to travel with someone who doesn't have the same travel smarts, travel budget and emotional maturity. Gotta sniff out the possible issues before the trip and law down some boundaries with the "ground rules" of what you will or won't be doing or else, and the or else can just be some tag team...

Hey guys I'm trying to book a 3 night stay in Chicago for my husband's birthday. I already got baseball tickets. Now I'm looking for hotel and other entertainment. Was thinking of a either the Athletic Association Hotel or the Talbot Hotel. I am also considering getting a "mystery" hotel from priceline to save 50 dollars a night. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Whenever I visit a decent sized city, I check for a Hotel Indigo. Chicago has one, and I highly recommend it.

Hello /trv/, anon here. Recently bought my ticket to Vienna, I'll be going there in mid january for 10 days and I'd like to know how much money I need. I'm planning on staying 4 days in Vienna, 1 in Bratislava and 4 in Budapest. Seeing as I'm 18 most of the museums in Vienna will be free to visit. This will be my fist solo trip

- I speak decent Spanish, but I understand they use the local language Guarani quite a bit. Do most people speak purely Spanish and Guarani? or is it a hefty amalgamation?
- are the cities safe?
- what's the local cuisine like?
My home is ~3 hours away from there... ppl here usually visit just for a day to buy stuff (super fucking cheap)

My mother is paraguayan, and I've been there a couple of times. Don't show you're wealthy or from a western country, or at least don't brag about it. You'll be safe from the Mafia and other gangs if you don't do drugs and if you're on a good level with them.
Language: They speak a mix of Guarani and Spanish, but mostly Spanish. As long as you understand Guarani you'll be fine. Most cities are safe, just stay away from sketchy areas at night.

Have friends in Iceland, they absolutely fucking despise tourists. Similarly in rural Norway, the villages near all the fjords like Flàm, they're really sick of tourists.
